  • Use this cleansing balm to melt away makeup! It's easy to make, and cost effective compared to popular commercial formulas, such as Clinique's Take the Day Off Balm Cleansing Balm.
    Unfamiliar with solid cleansing balms? They act as a makeup remover - apply to dry skin and massage in thoroughly. Then, follow with a facial soap.
    🌼 🌼Find the full recipe and ingredients:
    bberry.studio/chamomile_clean...
    The lightweight oils loosen makeup, while the combination of emulsifiers ensure the balm washes away without greasy residue. We lightly scented this balm with Natural Juicy Pear Fragrance Oil, but it can be left unscented if you prefer. We also added a touch of preservative. Because this recipe does not contain any water, this is optional.
    Use your fingertips to massage the balm into dry skin. Give extra attention to areas with hard to remove makeup, such as eyes and lips. Rinse away with warm water and follow with a facial soap.
    Note: if you live in a hot climate, you may want to increase the amount of emulsifying wax to ensure it remains a solid texture. It is still safe and effective to use if the balm softens.

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  Před rokem +1

      Geogard 221 is not a substitute for Polysorbate 80. You can substitute Polysorbate 20, a blend of Turkey Red Oil and Guar Gum, or Bio-Mulsion Wax instead. Keep in mind that these swaps will change the feel and consistency of your final recipe.

      This recipe would be a bit soft for a lip balm. You could substitute the emulsifying wax for beeswax or other hard wax and add a little bit of a soft butter to give the balm a more firm and moisturizing texture.

    What’s the difference between using emulsifying wax or vegan butters like shea butter, or beeswax or any vegan wax

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  Před rokem

      The combination of the emulsifying wax and polysorbate 80 helps the Chamomile Cleansing Balm rinse off nicely. Vegan butters would be moisturizing and would cause the balm to act more like a moisturizer than a cleanser.

    • @stancexpunks
      @stancexpunks Před 10 měsíci

      An emulsifying wax is a completely different thing than vegan butters (btw beeswax isn’t vegan…). An emulsifying wax emulsifies while butters do not. So if you were to use a butter in place of the emulsifying wax then your product would not become emulsified when you use water to rinse it off your skin aka it would stay on your skin like a moisturizer (because you would just be adding straight up oil on your skin) instead of coming off easily like a cleansing balm should.

    • @stancexpunks

      How is it a dupe when it doesn’t even have similar ingredients? I have a feeling you are just saying that because it’s a cleansing balm and you think every cleansing balm is a dupe for this “clean it zero” product. That would be my guess because I can’t see the resemblance.
      This is just a regular, simple cleansing balm of their own creation. Not a dupe for anything.
