Very true what you said after the performance. It should be about mixing the old with the new and never about destroying the old - that's how evolution (of language, culture, music, whatever) works best.
The 2018 Daishinnenkai is my favorite show from WGB. The crowd is hot for every song, the band sounds fantastic, the performances are wonderful, Yokohama Arena is huge (I've been outside of it), and the stage is set up wonderfully. How great would the fan feel at 5:23 with lovely Beni waving at them? This song's melody is fantastic, Kiyoshi gets a nice koto solo, and the crowd gets to lend their voices to the song. Fantastic.
I think I like the 2021 show the best. The set-list is loaded with my favorite songs. But I just got the new blu-ray for the 2022 show, and it's also spectacular! I like everything they do, even the quirky stuff! WGB is fearless. They are not afraid to do many different styles of music.
@@TheCyberMantis What puts 2018 over the top for me is the crowd interaction and participation. I've been in hot crowds like that and it's always fun and elevates the show for me.
Yeah, I LOVE WGB! They are the best! There is nothing that compares to them. They are unique. Yuko is my favorite singer. She is a goddess! We all love Beni too! I love the traditional instruments. WGB puts on the best shows. Huge productions. I hope they are with us forever! I think this year is their 8th anniversary. Hard to believe they have already been around that long. I wish I had found them sooner.
@@SixxDaze Yuko started this whole thing. Originally it was Hanafugetsu, which means: flower, wind, and moon. It was just her, Kiyoshi, and Daisuke. She kept adding members and Wagakki Band was born.

@@PaleHorseShabuShabu True. Covid put a damper on all this stuff. Crowds were smaller, and they couldn't go nuts like they normally would.
