They are playing traditional instruments so they are wearing traditional dress/clothing not costume and as you can see in the background, traditional japanese structure.
@@rogapz3911 Uhhh, not exactly. Asa is not in traditional dress. They're definitely in costume. They don't wear that in their day-to-day. For it to be traditional it would need some sort of conviction with it.
@@rogapz3911 afaik they mostly wear "traditional inspired" clothing (like beni's shoulder being uncovered whilst her dress still resembling kimono)
i only just started listening to this band, now i am wearing a kimono and swinging my katana all over the place

Being able to jump and move like that while playing flute is insanely harder than it looks.
It is hard enough to run around and sing, don't even mention playing the flute...
It's a shakuhachi. but yes, a type of flute.
Not to mention that shakuhachi is really hard as hell to play

They must have a brilliant sound engineer. This is the clearest live mix that I have ever heard. Oh yes, and the best looking band that I have ever seen.

The girl playing the Shamisen is so pretty, like her so much...i really admired this collaboration of original japanese instruments with modern metal...Metal nowadays are evolving into much jollier vibes...not like the past which is much darker in nature...thats why it was much enjoyable to listen...but listening to Japanese Metal is like listening to Anime Soundtracks...probably, because Anime was a Japanese trademark and soundtracks are carried with it...even now, I can still sing those ost's during my childhood days....
I agree that this music is amazing, but their is no metal influence here. The closest you could get with a label is hard rock, but prog is probably more apt.

I am 48 from Hungary. When I heard Homura the first time, and I saw their traditional clothes and instruments, I said it is fantastic! ... and appeared Beni with the shamisen, i said the Wagakki Band is very interesting and unique. I started studying japanese the next moment, because I wanted to understand their lyrics. I really like this band.
I love those torches they give to the crowd. I also like how I don't see a sea of cell phones up in the air.

It's truly an extraordinary thing to say about a musical recording that "it JUST wouldn't be the same without the audience!", and such is the magic of Wagakki Band, destined to be among THE bands/musical performance acts of the 21st Century. And World Healers.
Not just the talent. Also the showmanship is divine.
I'm speechless cause the atmosphere of this concert, fans and band make me so overwhelmed. I wish one day Wagakki Band will come to Wien and hold a concert here.

ELITE ARTISTS !!! WAOH ! this band really shows that j-'pop' (this is not pop of course) is far beyond any other k-pop and co. WAOH !!! also note that those instruments and vocals are traditional, hence tends to get inexorably forsaken and considered obsolete since the young generations rather turn to more ordinary instruments. WHAT A JOB !!! a magnificent way to revive those wonderful instruments in a modern way. awesome ! i love this band. what a creativity !

Voices are just another instrument to me...I can listen to all kinds of languages I don't speak when it comes to music. Some people can't stand any music in a different language...that's sad. They are missing out. My sister is like that. She can dig the instruments but if she can't understand the lyrics it annoys her.
