2:55 Something I loved about Tony's character is that he's probably the most civilized guy in Springfield, as he doesn't charge at Bart for being late. He listens and THEN takes action. Also, I always liked how Bart is meant to be the failure, but always proved he's rather cunning and gifted on several areas...just not the ones society encourages.
Even the ones society encourages. He thrived as a hall monitor and in military school. All he needs is structure, support and to be rewarded socially for appropriate behaviour.
I loved the episodes where he's setup to be misunderstood or underachieving, they have a lot of heart, specially "Marge Be Not Proud" or "The boy who knew too much"

Of all the hypothetical future jobs Bart could have, I always thought bartender made the most sense & was the most realistic. Homer's constant alcohol presence would certainly give Bart experience in understanding alcohol & alcoholic beverages as well. He would basically be future Moe but with a slightly better outcome.
Homer is an alcoholic that drinks shit beer, it wouldn't give him experience in good alcohol. I do like bartender Bart though, something that has not always been legal and requires experience is perfect for Bart since he is always trouble and is quite gifted when it's not taught in school and would not get him into troubles.
The storytelling of classic Simpsons is incredible. If you want to make a properManhattan there is a third ingredient besides Whisky and Vermouth: A few drops of Angostura. Louis could have forgotten those, just like you... Also a traditional Manhattan is made with strong Rye Whiskey. It has quite a distinct flavor. There is also a weaker variant made with cheaper, blended (Canadian) Whisky. Because the Mafia guy complains about the "flat flavorless" Manhattan, its also possible Louie didnt know what kind of Whisky to use for a proper Manhattan.
