When Carl threw him the umbrella while standing out in the rain I knew he was a true bro
Carl was a true friend...he sacrificed himself when Homer was about to be fired. He took a bullet for him so he can survive..not caring about his own well being. Maybe the world would be a better place if there were more people like him in it.

Basically, this episode demonstrates how the improvements in the company were only due to Homer being switched from a ground work job into an executive job. Which ultimately means that executives do nothing and get all of the credit. Genius.
And the only person to analyze the data and notice the coincidence is ignored
Really highlights the subtlety to how good the writing was. Makes a relevant and meaningful point without explicitly saying it. Well spotted.
Also the reason his life changed was his aesthetics, and no one even realized that's why they treated him differently. People assume that your work ethic and people skills are what nets you a better life, but statistically having a full head of hair and being taller than average both increase your chances of higher pay and a higher position. Nearly every US president has had a full head of hair. Average male CEO height is well above control, and personally when I was younger after I spent a couple years in the gym and was very fit and strong, the difference in how people treated me was astounding. I was still shy, awkward and self conscious, but it was seen as mysterious and reserved instead of pathetic or creepy. Gifts, food, invites, favors, holding the door, etc. It just kinda taught me that we're still animals and regardless of what we think, we still respond to the health and fitness of each other.
Nah, it doesn't imply that on any general level, only in this scenario.
@@GrandmasterofWin And that's also why women like tall men. Not because of the bullshit excuse "It reminds me of my father." Yes, people really are that shallow.

@@alexanderblackwood9143 This is how God works. Human's free will and God's sovereignty (all things are under His control). It was the Roman's free will to murder Jesus, but it was ultimately God's will to send His Son to sacrifice Himself. Jesus knew He was going to be crucified and even prophesied it. 2000 years ago in Roman controlled Judea was the perfect time and place for God's plan. Little did the Roman's know, persecuting Christians would end up causing Christianity to grow rapidly throughout the Middle East.
