My EDC (Every day Carry) bag and contents. This bag goes with me everywhere I go and is NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH A BUGOUT BAG OR GO BAG (which I have ready to go and I will more than likely do a video on in the future). That being said, my goal here is not the same as a survivalist or a prepper, rather it is to cover my bases so I pull some of what I just need for work and everyday stuff, mixed with some survival elements, and mixed with guns, gear, and ammo. Some components I consider essential are missing because they will be readily available in other bags, vehicles, and/or bug-out gear. Hope this was helpful for your daily carry of for SHTF.
My inspiration for this vehicle has to go to Hurricane Matthew which is hours away from hitting my hometown of Brunswick, GA. Last night I was compiling all the stuff a disaster might require and part of my preparations were to revisit my EDC bag. Some of the name brands that make up my setup include: T.Rex Arms Sidecar kydex holster; Blue Force Gear bag, Ruger SR-22 with AAC Pilot 2 Silencer and extended bumpers on magazines; maxpedition pouches; Glock 19 magazines; streamlight flashlights; emerson karambit knife; SOL blanket; Lifestraw; 550 cord; HTC war belt; Unity Tactical Clutch Belt; HSGI war belt; Aimpoint swag
Well it's been 2 years, has the bag been updated?
Yup! czcams.com/video/L7eXBp564H4/video.html
Cool, thanks!
ily so much
more smashed skittles stuck here and there...
Dude. You're literally the most likable person on CZcams. Haha. Thanks for your vids man.
That awkward moment when John Lovell's EDC bag is almost better than your bug out bag...
Cosmo...95% of the population has no idea what the hell is taking place around them. They have zero situational awareness. You know how I know this? I watch them carefully.
I hate to agree with a jerk like this ComocosonoEWL, but it's not very well camouflaged. That said, I don't think that was the point. It's clearly a well-made pack, but not an obviously super-tactical pack with MOLLE all over it- a single spot on the back with a Velcro spot is not super-tac. Best camouflage I've ever seen for an EDC/Bugout bag is a blank black pack with Anarchy and hippie patches/buttons sewn on. It's stupid but it works.
😂
Mr. John,
I want to compliment you on your humble approach to sharing your experience based tactical opinions. It is very interesting to me that you young cats make sure that you have your electronics (a humorous observation by a guy who learned land nav with a compass or not, and a topo or not). Obviously, I need to update my "EDC" bag. Move over snickers bars and make room for my new tablet. Not only did I come away from your video more tactically proficient but, my old "briefcase" now has a much cooler name (EDC bag)! "ODLNT" (old dog learning new tricks). Peace Out!
+Richie Beard - One Man Acoustic Band haha - awesome comment. Thx sir
John I have just recently discovered your CZcams pages. Your sense of humor is awesome. Your debt to this country is amazing. And your practical view on all the subjects you discuss are on point.
Dude I love your content....everything from your sense of humor to your perspective of choice...great work keep it up
love all your content, amazing insight and gear setups with the experience and knowledge to back it up; with some good humor weaved in.
your best comment of the video was Marry well. It gives me a warm feeling when couples are playful with each other, it shows the friendship that comes with a good marriage...Im glad my wife picked me
Gary Dell I agree!!! My wife keeps reminding me that “I’m the winner”.
Must be nice
Floss and mre heater. Great ideas. A small garbage bag can be useful, too and won't take much room.
+Dam Main good call!
I love your thought process with this stuff you definitely remind me of people I knew back in the day!
Not sure if you've talked about it in depth, but would love to hear a full discussion on that suppressed 22! Why/what for/advantages, disadvantages
Love your videos. Start watching one and then realize that I just didn't get anything done for 2 hours. Appreciate your service and the videos.
Great load out; I think I need to put a few extra essentials in my EDC bag... Very informative, Mr. Lovell!!
I like the low-key bag. My son, a college student at Liberty, and I recently got clipboard-sized ballistic panels from Hardwire. Fits easily in our pack/bag, can also be used as a clipboard or whiteboard, and does not scream tacticool.
+DrZ 👍
Liberty as in LU? Alumni here! LU is great.
I miss going to watch the Flames
Cool to see how far you've come! Keep up the good work!
Great video! Can't wait for more of these types of videos. One of my favorite channels on CZcams!
+Noah Deal thx bud!
I have several fellow students who love the karambit. You have lots of fun using it!
Mrs Warrior poet must be off camera getting naughty... Because what else could distract John. Hahaha.
Love these type vids. If I’m not getting an idea for new additions to my bag it might be hey I really like the bag itself! Thanks for not being able to sleep this night several years ago
A video on your backup suppressed .22 would be awesome. The philosophy behind that tool would be very interesting. :)
Awesome setup John! Thanks for sharing.
FINALLY !!! I feel validated as you are the ONLY other person than myself who understands the value of carrying black electrical tape. Much more useful than duct tape, much more forgiving, much easier to pack. How in the world have makers of duct tape not come out with a 1 inch roll is beyond me. Oh, and with that I always have a small supply of zip ties.
A Hushpuppy for a backup? Sublime!
The Jason Bourne bit was hilarious but the vid was to the point and quite good
Thank you so much for making this video & for taking the time to list everything in the description box. 👍
I could watch John do absolutely anything and I would be interested. Another great vid bud.
I really appreciate your vids. short, no BS. Keep up the good work.
ha! someone JUST criticized me for talking too much. Glad you disagreed with him, but I'll make effort to keep the BS fluff out.
Don’t forget to backup your hard drive. Just thought you should know! Love your videos! Real inspiration sir.
This is awesome! Gave me a lot to think about. Love the bag too!
All you need is a PT belt. It's a life saver lol.
Good content
+THATMOFODIRT 😂
Great kit. Well delivered. Good job. 👍
No need to apologize, things happen. Keep up the good work!
Learning so much! Thank you John!
Digging the videos and your humbleness
By the way, I just found your channel and really dig it. Keep up the good work! Hands down best back up gun I've seen on youtube
thanks!
@@WarriorPoetSociety see
I love it John! You rock!!
love your videos man, learned alot of stuff through your videos thx
awesome video, great kit.
Great video John
Enjoyed this. Gave me some practical ideas I haven't thought of including the daisy chain paracord and carrying a .22 backup. Thanks John.
- Orlando, Jake G.
+Final Flash my pleasure broseph
I love this guy his sarcasm is next level
haha enjoyed the part when your wife was messing with you...Great video, Cheers.
+WallyMer06 I can't share what she was doing. I enjoyed it too. 😁
John Lovell I think we all understood pretty well haha
I have zero doubt what she was doing would have caused CZcams to ban/remove the video. haha
That's awesome. Good for her! Also teaches John about focusing on the task at hand, and not be distracted ..... which he failed miserably at. ;)
I knew what she was doing lol thats a great wife right there and very beautiful as well 👍😊👍
Good thing the backpack was there!
I’m saving up to take one of your classes. There is something about your style I need to learn.
Hey John! Something that pairs very well with fire steel: braided jute twine soaked in wax. It'll take a spark and give you fire, it's waterproof, small, light weight and is so easy and cheap to make it's stupid. You can thread it through a small metal tube (I use pieces from old pens) so you don't burn your fingers, and it makes it easy and convenient to extinguish. This CZcamsr named wintertrekker has a video on it. I never have a fire steel without it now.
very helpful stuff. im always on the lookout for ways to optimize my edc bag.
+thebenforever it's a work in progress. Me too 👊👍
Thanks Jon this video made me a subscriber keep it up. Great ideas for me in this video I love it.
I like the idea of staying close to a suppressed .22. Very handy for a variety of things.
Love those 10 speed pistol pouches, so low profile and hides close to the body
Great channel & great video! I appreciate you sharing so much with us. I have to say I'm very curious to see your bug out bag & vehicle load out if possible. Always learning and adapting from those with more experience. Thanks for doing what you do, and I look forward to more of your videos. God bless you & yours!
I'll roll them out in the future I'm sure! thanks man
I love you John. Best dude ever!!!
I'm a new sub and love your videos! Your videos are fun to watch!
I definitely need to put a bag together for everyday. or at least have some more random supplies on hand. that being said I am surprised at how much you actually carry with you. that is a lot of stuff. but when I think about it, it makes sense. and I really need a suppressed .22 now as well
+TheCornBreadMan yes you do!! 👊
you make the best videos and love your attitude god bless you and your family
“Protects it when I set the back down” immediately goes to throw his computer, love your vids!
What an Awesome video ! Thank You SO much for sharing 😊
Hello John. May I recommend you store your phone and power cables using the "roadie wrap" method? You can secure the ends to the cable by tying them with a twist tie (commonly found on the packaging of store-bought bread). I work in technology and we find that a lot of people store cables that don't work because the wires inside have been bent out of shape. Just a friendly heads-up so that you can charge your phone in case of emergency.
John, one item I edc are at least 2 or 3 pairs of exam gloves. As an emt, I have stopped on several occasions for traffic accidents as the first person on the scene. I keep each pair in individual small plastic bags as well as a full box in my car/truck. I heard you say that you are an emt also.
great video. simple setup and great practical gear ideas!
+Chevy Tattoo thanks bro!
Great video. I’m a big prepper and have tried the EDC bag but just can’t seem to get used to carrying one. I carry on my person religiously a Glock 43 2 spare mags cold steel recon 1 knife fenix PD 25 light leatherman sidekick small lighter and bandana. I do have a very well stocked get Home bag in my vehicle. But that’s it for me.
Thanks for sharing. Oh and my phone of course.
I just realized, I shall be an EMT when I "grow up". Thanks John, God bless.
+John Lovell omissions: handkerchief, analgesic, antibiotic ointment, adhesive bandages( spongebob or ninja turtles), hand sanitizer, packet of goldfish or fruit snacks... maybe even some plastic utensils & paper napkins, ie. a Dad edc kit.
Kudos for your content, especially your theological & philosophical perspective in addition to your tactical & technical advice.
Also, your commitment to your content was evident from 6:00 to 6:20 during your wife's striptease. Most guys would've stopped filming, but you soldiered on towards your mission. Congratulations?
+Eric Johanson she didn't make it easy! Thx
Signal mirrors are awesome. Because when I'm in a pinch, I can always signal with my mirror an SOS and air support will be there...awesome.
Keep up the awesome videos
awesome video! I heard about you from @mrgunsngear and I must say I love you're videos! loving the suppressed 22. people who don't have one don't realize how handy they are. looking forward to following you!
Thanks Chad and welcome to the warrior poet society
When you unzipped the bag all the way down. I was floored! I've never seen a bag do that.
Would really love seeing your take on survival in the urban environment as well as the bug out bag contents you would not leave your house without... Also if you have any simulations on let's say a civil war situation what is your go to tips to survive this. Love all the videos!
Just one other comment- the MRE heater- I remember when they first stared putting them in the MRE's They were awesome!!!
We did the same thing. It kept a us warm on a lot of cold days and nights in a lot of craphole places. There were a few knuckelheads that ended up stripping (when too much water was added) and it got WAY hot. Most of those times we ended up having to eat cold MRE's. Such fond memories. ......
I loved your edc bag Mr lovell
+the vein slayer thx man. Me too
While talking about protecting his laptop he plops it on the table. Haha. Love the channel, john.
Very Nice Kit Bag!
Great stuff John
+Richard Browne (GodnGunz) thx Richard
I do the same thing with MRE heaters. Keep on in each breast pocket on the ACUs. They come in real handy as you know!
+superbowl5212 you salty dog!! Yep!
I love that you keep a suppressed .22 lr handgun!
great bag well put together . i personally have baking soda instead of toothpaste in mine i find it has several uses witch is always good. also my head lamp ,flashlights, radios and GPS all take the same kind of batteries . just a couple of things i do that work for me figured id mention it
Subscribed !
Great video 🇺🇸
Love my flashlights to my man!
Awesome video!
You definitely should have that drive encrypted.
Short story: I had my bag taken from my car. Bag had hard drive in it. My dad wrote a GPS notification program that ran as soon as power was provided to drive. We found bad guy and some of my stuff. (with police help) However, my Information was kept safe.
be great to to see this list .than you for taking time and effort to shoot this
nice vid! would love to see all your other gear!
I'll roll more out at some point I'm sure
Love the murse!
I'm a truck driver And my carry bag is similar, minis the tax stamp. I do go heavy on the hydration and 1st aid.
Well done and anyone that's every endured cold temps that just permeate your very core, understand the heat packs, blanket, fire starter. You really have no intention of being that cold again lol...
Awesome video as always! By the way your teasers are awesome on Instagram... Dont stop posting those every time you post a video otherwise i would know to look for awesome content like this!!
+Taylor Walker great feedback. I'll keep posting them. If you subscribe to my channel it will send you a notice when a new video posts
Solid set up....
Good to see thank you for the video.
I really need a warrior poet patch on my EDC bag!
+53_moredoor_belair not available yet! Check back!
I love ready all these comments. only a few can focus on the objective of this video. the only thing i would recommend is more nutrients. in my eyes the point of an EDC is to be able to make it to your primary bug out bag if SHTF. if you work 15 miles from home and you have to navigate home without a vehicle, you may wants more than 1 cliff bar. oh and don't forget the wobble, i don't go anywhere without my woobie. other than that this is the best and most practical EDC bag i've seen.
MRE heaters are awesome. I have stared caring hand warmers because over the longer last and the fact that they don't need water so lest chance of getting wet in the cold. Also the smell beter.
Super cool, thank you!
really enjoy your content just found your channel. So kinda playing catch up. Love that you carry something with the bible on it that is an important part of any edc. Keep up the awesome content.
Great video brother
That cost a lot of time and change to put that together. Very impressive and inspiring
I love the bag! You have a lot of great gear. So just for my own knowledge, what made you choose a .22 suppressed as a secondary carry gun?
I would enjoy seeing what's in your bug out bag and your mind set behind it
I'll get to it soon enough I hope! Thanks for tuning in brother
John Lovell when are you posting your buyout bag?
Not sure if there would be room with the laptop but, have you thought about a soft armor pannel? They are relatively light and in the event of an active shooter situation, you could put the pack on backwards and use it as a plate carrier. If it's a car jacking, put it in front of your body like a shield and drive off, return fire, water tickles your fancy.
I will add one when I'm able, yeslove it
You had me at pragmatic. Subscribed.
I love how the .22 is suppressed but not the Glock! Great vids brother!
Just a suggestion, it's probably a good idea to put your Kindle and hard drives in a faraday bag, that way it's protected from water and any electrical damage.
The only thing I would add...couple of grenades. Kidding ..I say wet wipes or even wysi wipes. Both have there advantages but wysi wipes are super strong and compressed into the diameter of a nickel . Your videos are Awesome man, I find myself watching them more than once. Love the channel ..shootz.
