Women in STEM - summary from CSW68 (Commission on the Status of Women), Side session.

Did I leave STEM because there were no female role models like me? Or did I leave because getting a seat at the table as a female was too difficult?
Well, only I know the answer to those questions.
However, I was encouraged to hear about the much-needed changes being discussed at today's CSW86 side event: Advancing Gender Equality in STEM Industries: Strategies for Increased Participation and Leadership.
I attended this one-hour session switched on, taking notes for you all. In this five-minute video, I summarise the discussed changes and commitments.
If you work in STEM or know women working in STEM, I recommend you watch and soak up this information. Change is coming, and here it is.
My favourite point is to make STEM more attractive to young women and girls and remove the unconscious bias!! Let's give the next generation roll models they can and WANT to relate to.
