Everyone, including Siya, seems to have forgotten that Siya himself said in his book that once he goes overseas he won’t be captain of the Springboks and that he himself believes the captain of the Springboks should be locally based.
You must be some kind of special stupid! Or maybe you didn’t even watch the video. Siya said, he knew that he would be demoted from Captain if he moved abroad. How is it that you say he has forgotten bla bla bla bullshit
Rassie seems to like a 'statesman-like' character. Remember Siya growing into that role? Listening to Damian lately, he is already there; well-spoken, calm, but also a fierce competitor
15 Damian Willeme (C) I can see it. It's more a case that you probably want the captain closer to the action than anything else that works against him but probably one of the first names on the team sheet ATM and for the foreseeable which is key.
I love Siya but maybe its to ensure individual players don't become bigger than the team. Ego-proofing the team. Making sure the team is never reliant on any stars or star captains to perform at the highest level.
France did that and they're struggling without DuPont. Ireland are lucky their over-hyping of Sexton didn't negatively hamper them when he left. In SA, I think it's a case of leave your egos outside. Don't bring it into the team.
A Captain should always be a forward, with the possibility of a scrum half, who is in and around the pack. A vice captain can be appointed in the back line. It’s simple, the game is won or lost up front. Look at all world cup winning sides captains through its history.
Like your choices mfe2. Let us trust Rassie with SIya now as we trusted him when appointing Siya. Me think maybe too soon to def pin down a cappy for the world cup just yet. Agree with Eben, Am for mid term. However with injuries and load management etc, get young blood to captain. Evan a good choice after some stern talking to (temper/anger management etc). His passion can be an inspiration to team mates.
My criteria for the new Captain is that he has to be a guaranteed starter, someone below 26, someone who is already in the current setup ie steeped in the culture already and someone who can inspire the team on the field ie put 7/10 performaces nearly every game.
Ox Nche. He is 28, can hold a strating spot, is close to the action, and the man is intelligent. He has a BSc degree something very few professional rugby players have these days. Damian will be a option but he is to far from the action. Very few teams have a fullback as captain.
I personally think Rassie should give Damien Willemse a shot at captaining. And see how it goes, I will say that most of our current Springboks forwards are older. So we need to see the new blood, get a feel for their game play and their attitude and take it from there. But on this list, there is really only one choice right now. Willemse. Thanks @Jordan Buhrs for this
I like Damian as a choice for Springbok captain. Possibly a little hot headed/over passionate at times but with all that experience and his talent, not to mention the mentorship and guidance of Willie le Roux. Ya, I really like the idea. His position is the only real draw back.
I just thought about it again. If Rassie wants a captain that are based in South Africa, close to the action and can play till 2031 there is one obvious choice, Ox Nche. The man can justify a starting spot, he is intelligent and holds a BSc degree, which he achieved while playing professional rugby.
For me siya should have stepped down after the second world cup win and given an opportunity to someone else. He missed an opportunity to show leadership and humility
@@infoBot7VidhrmI'm Akrikaans but I've never had to search far to find an Afrikaans person that says something utterly embarrassing. I bet irl your family and other people tolerate you, but nobody truly wants to be around you.
Indeed, who are we? Because of Siya’s humility he was always open to the inputs from other senior players and leaders in the team. And that is REAL leadership, becoming stronger together. He understood the assignment. Haters will remain haters no matter what
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.... All this crap over THIS nonsense?... REALLY?...EVERYONE knows Kolisi IS and ALWAYS WAS a TOKEN CAPTAIN... there's not ONE instance when he made a good decision AS CAPTAIN, always asking OTHER players about what to do... he's NEVER been one of the MOST influential players on the field either... Give this carp a rest now mense and let's just get on with Showing the World AND World Rugby that no matter HOW they try to knock our Boks back, THE BOKS WILL ALWAYS PERSEVERE... 👍👍🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏

Damian for Captain, age and experience is on his side........ Love the content, makes rugby easy to follow for a newbie like me
I appreciate the kind words!
I agree with you 100%
this is a good man , he bought his dad a house , very few kids do that
what a loss most respected captain in my eyes
Thank Jor for always bringing us great content.
We should trust Rassie. He knows everything
Damian should captain till the next world cup
15 Damian Willeme (C)
I can see it. It's more a case that you probably want the captain closer to the action than anything else that works against him but probably one of the first names on the team sheet ATM and for the foreseeable which is key.
I completely agree. Has at least 2 more World Cups in him
❤I agree. He will have to learn to keep his cool though as he's quite young 😂
I love Siya but maybe its to ensure individual players don't become bigger than the team. Ego-proofing the team. Making sure the team is never reliant on any stars or star captains to perform at the highest level.
Also a great point. We saw that in the most recent Chasing the Sun episode
France did that and they're struggling without DuPont. Ireland are lucky their over-hyping of Sexton didn't negatively hamper them when he left. In SA, I think it's a case of leave your egos outside. Don't bring it into the team.
Agreed. A rotation of sorts is required for the long road ahead
I say definitely Damian
Rassie won two worldcups why should we teach him to do it again
A Captain should always be a forward, with the possibility of a scrum half, who is in and around the pack. A vice captain can be appointed in the back line. It’s simple, the game is won or lost up front. Look at all world cup winning sides captains through its history.
That’s y there is a wise captain in the forwards
Joost (scrum half) was also Bok captain.
South Africa respects forwards so it's got to a forward please.

Okay bro, just say Damian Willemse already.
Ox Nche. He is 28, can hold a strating spot, is close to the action, and the man is intelligent. He has a BSc degree something very few professional rugby players have these days.
Damian will be a option but he is to far from the action. Very few teams have a fullback as captain.
There are at least 10 potential captains in the squad. So many senior players...
Definitely Short run for me 》 Between PST and Deon Fourie💪
Maybe Long run 》Elrigh Louw💚
Am not sure about Evan

When the fuck are we hosting a World Cup again? Why aren’t we bidding for any?
32 years old and can still captain SA in 2027 world cup? Seriously? He will be 37. No ways.
He will be 36 it's possible to play
Am capt Ebon VC come RWC if Kolisi still playing well he will surely be the man !
I like Damian as a choice for Springbok captain. Possibly a little hot headed/over passionate at times but with all that experience and his talent, not to mention the mentorship and guidance of Willie le Roux. Ya, I really like the idea. His position is the only real draw back.
elrigh louw for captain.
No matter the player, a good captain in the scrum will always be better than a great captain at 15. Just my two cents though.
Ox Nche. He ticks all the boxes.
I just thought about it again. If Rassie wants a captain that are based in South Africa, close to the action and can play till 2031 there is one obvious choice, Ox Nche. I don’t see Rassie taking a guy that hasn’t been on the WRC winning team🤷🏿♂️
Saru will probly look to get Malcom back to SA “ probly to bulls “ then I would rather make him my capt his only 29
I wouldn't want Marx to be captain, he's already outworking all his teammates, doesn't need more responsibilities.
@@riri1718true, however, I'm really excited that he's still so young and we'll get to still see much more of him.
GAZA 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I say Deon Fourie. He is as tough as nails and will be the oldest guy to ever captain a WC team. Come on, don't be ageist!
I think Handré Pollard should be captain even though he is not in SA.
Maar ons sal sien hoe hierdie ding gaan uitspeel.
Eben can be wise captain
Too much hot headed and only has a winning 46 % win ratio in the 13 games that he captained
Eben is our inforcer. It will be difficult to be the inforcer and suck up to the ref.
Lukhanyo Am loading
Francke Horn
please just leave politics out of our team because it breaks the team spirit its good to stay focus. I love Siya but we must grow to the next level.
OX FOR CAPTAIN! ❤
I agree. He is also one of a very few professional rugby players that still studied. Nogal a BSc degree.
Not Am he won’t even make the squad, Elrigh no go Norjie? There is much better locks then him
if were going young long term id go moody he did show some leadership at world cup mid term id go AM and short tearm bongi
Steff
Eben etsabeth will be captain
My thinking is Lukhanyo Am
Of course Siya has lost captaincy, coz Siya is 2024 SA president
It will be lukey and bongi for now, Siya will come back to SA and take over for his final world cup
A level headed Evan Roos would do a good job. He is inspirational.
But not level headed
Jaden Hendrickse (C)
Damian Willemse for Captain
My Friend you talk too fast!
good content but Kitshoff is Probably gonna captain
For me siya should have stepped down after the second world cup win and given an opportunity to someone else. He missed an opportunity to show leadership and humility
I like Sasha but then he needs to be picked at 10.
We all know he wasn’t the real captain in any case… so no big loss!
Who are the "we" you are talking about? Siya clearly never had your support and did brilliantly without it. Thank you.
@@infoBot7VidhrmI'm Akrikaans but I've never had to search far to find an Afrikaans person that says something utterly embarrassing. I bet irl your family and other people tolerate you, but nobody truly wants to be around you.
You should be ashamed of yourself

Haters will remain haters no matter what
I see some idiots took the bait. Well played troll.
Siya is overrated both as a captain and a player. We all know why. It's not a big deal.
