In regard to Sanele's omission from the training squad, Rassie essentially stated that Faf performs all the roles Sanele does (playing multiple positions), so they do not currently need him in the squad. However, he may be called up if a player fails to impress or if someone gets injured.

we need to give sacha game time in a bok jersey whether that be at 10 15 or 12 I think this kid could really damage the Irish defence and he’s the guy I would play in the Ireland series than bring le roux on at 45min

Roos has to start, his stats in the URC is unmatched. There is no way I see Rassie starting Phepsi against Ireland. Roos is faster than Phepsi, and he is a much better ball carier. If Manie and Fassi play we don't have a reliable kicker on the pitch. Might be ok against Wales but not against Ireland. Sacha is the best kicker with the biggest boot. We only have Ox and Nchunu for the Ireland test at losehead, Nchunu must be in the bench against Wales to give him game time. Maybe Du Toit can come in to support Ox against Ireland but Nchunu still needs game time.

About time this change was made. Scrums are now ridiculous. Watch the game from even 25 years ago when the scrums were over before the current teams even get to the mark. If we continue with scrum options perhaps we should again insist that a Goal i.e. a converted try has to be scored to be able to win a game. Current scrum laws make the game very boring most of the time when it can take a long time to get a scrum completed. A quick free kick will obviate the worry about a fully set up defence being in place.
