Both had really nice sets in my opinion. I love both of their styles.

I think this was a bit more of a tie for me. I really don't think doing a halo every third move and structuring every set the same way (tops, power, a little footwork) is as fresh as Differ's very recognizable style. I also don't think Issei, even as a very musical powerhead, has Differ's foundation.Give him dynamics, arguably execution, but this was closer for me than a 2-0 win. For me, Our System has too many ties in short battles, but respect to all the organizers, bboys, and judges. Peace.
I am without a doubt a HUGE fan of Differ, one of my favorite bboys actually, but I do have to say that Issei won this one. This was definitely not Differ's strongest battle.

It actually stood for beat, break, bronx, etc. depending on where you were from in the 70s.
I don't think the r16 judging system is objectively bad, its diverged significantly from the traditional judging system. So winning an r16 battle means something very different than winning a normal battle.

Agreed 1st issei, 2nd Differ. I see lots of people saying issei should not have won, that substance won over style. Well I think any of them could have been the winner, style wise. Even issei has a style, he ain't just substance. I don't even care who won. They were all tight

I'd give 1st set to Issei and 2nd set to Differ, battle was dope.
To speak in fighters words: Issei dodged Differs punches and blocked all kicks.. so Differs attacks were there but did not hit... therefore 3 points is fine.

I think the point system should be combined with the traditional system of 3 judges. Imagine this:
If the 3 judges say tie, then point system takes precedent. If the 3 judges decide a winner (3-0 or 2-1) and if it disagrees with point system, then tie. Otherwise if both groups of judges agree, then winner is winner.

Then there would be no point to the point system. Every judge would basically pick the winner based on how the bboy did overall (i.e. taking into account all the aspects). Why even have the judges rate on separate aspects in the first place.
