    The inquisitors all come across as being young adults, which suggests to me that they are all former padawans or inexperienced Jedi Knights. As powerful as Vader is, he himself is quite inexperienced in the ways of the dark side so probably not the best person to teach them. It feels like the inquisitors were doomed to fail from the beginning.

    • @wobba4436

      because they were made to be, if an inquisitor got to powerful they were killed of, if they killed all the jedi left? they would all be killed of. there was no retirement plan for inquisitors! besides they were made to be doomed to fail

    • @lyntonfleming
      @lyntonfleming Před 2 lety +22

      DV didn't need to teach them how to use the Dark Side though.
      He needed to teach them how to stop fighting defensively. Most Jedi forms revolve around a "wait and see" style because they view violence as the last possible option.
      The Sith are the opposite. They were never going to be Sith, only ever Acolytes, but they still had to be broken out of those habits. Given a newly rebuild Vader 1v1ed the Grand Inquisitor then crippled each of the others without even trying... I'd say he was probably the best for the job at the time.

      Not quite. ( see wiki ).The tenth brother was a former jedi master that lost hope in the decisions of the jedi council and The Grand Inquisitor was a jedi temple guard ( at least jedi knight) who was present in Ahsoka trial. Both this individuals were full adults when they lost their trust in the decisions of the jedi order.

      The dark side isn't mastered by focus and balance like the light side is, though, so experience is mostly irrelevant in that realm. The only form of "experience" darth vader's role required was that of lightsaber combat, and we all know he was an outstandingly prolific user of Form V.

      But Inquisitors were never meant to be anything other than replaceable tools hunting fledgling force wielders before they become too great a nuisance.
      They can't be too powerful or they would pose threat to Vader and Sidious, so they are not taught any Sith lore. Even their combat style revolves heavily around built-in advantages of their lightsaber.

      @@InvaderG Not necessarily. I mean, the Grand Inquisitor was a Temple Guardian prior to turning to the Dark Side. They were very formidable combatants, and he was a fully trained Jedi, not a half-trained nobody. He also knew Kenobi and had ample time to study his combat form. Comparing the GI (or any Force User) to the likes of Sidious, Vader, Dooku, Yoda, Mace and so on just isn't even a fair comparison - almost no one of the time could match them. That said, he was enjoyable in Kenobi!

    • @lewismcdonald1350
      @lewismcdonald1350 Před rokem +2

      If I'm wrong correct me, The grand Inquisitor was a temple guard so any jedi padawan was an easy target because the Inquisitor was already fully trained in 1 or 2 styles of defence but a night or master would've slayed them in a heart beat. "If they hadn't been in hiding for years apon years" IMO palpatine used them like pawns knowing fine well with or without offence training! A jedi night or master would be able to defeat or fend off any 1 or 2 Inquisitors because of there extensive offensive training so they're predictable and clumsy like darth vader easy stopped and wounded the third sister, Who was a padawan once regardless of his power all he did was defend and pretty much let her lose her own battle. She wasn't fully trained as a jedi nor an Inquisitor so clearly they're really ineffective l.

    The Inquisitors are able to handle the majority of the surviving Jedi because the biggest chunk of Order 66 survivors were like Kanan or Cal; Padawans who escaped due to the sacrifices of their masters. But against seasoned Jedi or Jedi Masters, they are outmatched; Ashoka handled two Inquisitors with little difficulty and if they'd gone up against Obi-Wan or Yoda they would have been curb-stomped. And, of course, they have no chance against Sith Lords, which makes me wonder why the fuck the Eighth Brother was stupid enough to try and find Darth Maul on his own.

    The Inquisitorious was a little more than sub-par. Basically hired mercenary group expendable at that; due to run its course like you mentioned. Plus it would be another thing to worry about if one decided to go on their own quest for power to overthrow. They were destined to be a temporary force. They could potentially be a problem for the Empire in the long run considering dark Jedi can easily be as treacherous and betray just as a Sith. I also believe that is why the inquisitors were not taught the dark arts of the Sith. They were meant to be kept somewhat weak yet affective in some circumstances.

      at least from this one vid i dont think sidious disliked the rule of 2 he always followed it. he just disliked that they didn't have many competent higher ups bc vader would want to personally deal with things. he wanted vader to let things go a little and focus on more productive tasks but vader kept wanting to hunt down force sensitives even super weak ones which to be fair is a waste of time when you are one of the strongest beings in the galaxy at the time. maul was like sidious during clone wars. i dont want to spoil but from when was first introduced he was more like anikain wanting to be in the middle of everything and battle. after/during clone wars maul was more methodical and stronger also similar to sidious he recognized the value of being the mastermind behind the scenes and doing the super important tasks and leaving super simple things to others. i think anakin (btw i always struggle with his name lol) anyways, vader was so new to the dark side and didn't have a perspective changing experience that would allow him to become a more wise sith.

    Well, it kind of makes sense.
    In Legends, the Inquisitors were a bigger presence (although mostly in books aimed at Young Adult readers, which is where I first read of them, even though I was wall past Young Adult myself ^_^).
    They seem to have been just a 'blip' in New Canon history, and the Emperor's opinion of them helps explain why: He simply put no resources towards keeping them equipped, trained, or replaced if necessary.

  • @Corristo89
    @Corristo89 Před 2 lety +1

    The majority of Inquisitors were essentially Jedi who were too weak to resist the Dark Side or just opted for self-preservation in the face of extermination (can't really blame them). And the Sith generally frowned upon fallen Jedi in their ranks, as they believed them to be weak, lacking true understanding of the Dark Side due to being tainted by the teachings of the Jedi. Palpatine was a true Sith, Vader on the other hand was just a very powerful fallen Jedi, who returned to the Light Side at the end.

  • @okamireader5
    @okamireader5 Před 2 lety +7

    This explains much, such as to why the Inquisitors seemed to just vanish, becuz Sidious was so contemptuous of their incompetence and their disgrace, despite the flaws in their training under Vader (who, I would like to point out, was hardly qualified to teach them in the first place)
    So, rather than restore the ranks and train new Inquisitors, he just let them run their course until they were all gone. They had some successes, but ultimately they were deemed failures and embarrassments unworthy of serving their emperor
    Sidious should have realized, they were all fallen Jedi, so of course they were hopelessly flawed to begin with, and that was only exacerbated by their torturous training under Vader. But no, Sidious took cruel and petty pleasure in breaking these Jedi and reforging them into instruments of killing, seeing them break under torture and agony and then submit and become twisted with bitterness and cruelty.
    It would have been more effective to start from scratch and train force-sensitives who were not jedi or aligned with any other force-related faction; such individuals would have been perfect clay to mold into the ideal darkside servants Sidious desired, the perfect agents to carry out his will and spread terror and death to his enemies no matter what remote corners of the galaxy they might hide in, and they would surely have been more effective and far more dangerous than the likes of the Inquisitors

    • @lyntonfleming
      @lyntonfleming Před 2 lety +3

      He did try finding new force sensitives.
      He sent Vader to capture Jocasta Nu and a holocron that contained all the known force sensitives.
      Jocasta told Vader this, then called him out as Anakin Skywalker (forcing Vader to kill all the clones he had with him) and then died at the hands of Vader.
      Vader then destroyed the Holocron so he couldn't be replaced so easily.

    They were simply doomed from the start because none of them are Sith. Sith do not share power or knowledge. Something Sidious and Vader's power struggle / dynamic is completely dependent upon. If Vader knew all the things Sidious did, he would of chucked him along time ago and gone for his son. Same for the inquisitors if they even knew a quarter of what Palptaine knew they probably would of been a terrible reckoning and would of also tried to usurp their Sith overlords. Strong enough to do their task, weak enough to be rid of once it is complete.

    I gotta agree with this assessment, I mean I haven't watched rebels but take Jedi fallen order like you said the character you're playing is essentially a padwan who throughout the game you're re-learning a lot of skills you lost over time. Anyways the inquisitor that's chasing you should be up to snuff with their skills because they've been at this for a while, yet can't really beat you outright. *spoiler* Then fucking Darth Vader comes in at the end and is just a force to behold that you can't even put up a half decent fight against and your best chance to survive is to just run away. Like I get they're not supposed to be as powerful and as skilled as Vader but from what I can tell is it's like a padwan Jedi vs Master Yoda.
