Because the Inqusitors were meant to hunt Younglings and Padawans that had managed to slip the cracks of Order 66. The Grand Inquisitor was on par with a low-mid level Knight. Any Masters who had survived were handled by Vader. Maul was far stronger than any Inquisitor could be. He was on par with a Jedi Master. If he and Vader worked together, they could've potentially killed Palpatine.
You know I actually like the sound of that scenario, as it would basically be two apprentices that Sidious screwed over getting revenge on him!
Good point

I think at the time of the Phantom Menace Darth Sidious did consider Maul as his true apprentice and probable successor. If anything Maul was Sidious's truest apprentice. Trained only as a Sith from childhood he was never exposed to Jedi teachings as Dooku and Vader had been.
Ya had Anakin not come to his sight and Maul winning the dual of the fates Maul would be his true apprentice to the time of the Empire
Too bad Dooku and Vader were still way better than Maul. Dooku being the better dualist with equal force abilities and Vader being the better dualist with MUCH more force ability. So I guess it was the better choice in the long run for Vader to lead. But Maul had some serious potential if he weren't cut into 2
@@toxicgracie3772 Well you could say Dooku was a better duelist than Anakin Skywalker. Dooku was the Master of Form 2 Makashi but Anakin with his anger and his superior strength and speed overpowered and defeated him in ROTS. Maul had that same speed and strength and far more anger and hate than Anakin had at the beginning of ROTS. Maul was a ridiculously good duelist, trained from childhood to be nothing else and in the most brutal way possible under one of the most powerful Sith lords to ever live. Dooku received some training from Sidious in the Dark side but nowhere near the same intensity as Maul. Darth Maul was more of a Sith Lord than Count Dooku would ever be.
Darth Maul was a Banite Sith Lord, and he viewed himself as Darth Sidious’ heir (which he was initially, before being defeated and replaced). He would never be satisfied being demoted and serving beneath his replacement. Remember that Maul referred to Dooku as nothing more than a Sith pretender, and insisted that he was the true reigning dark lord of the Sith. Even after Sidious defeated him and stripped him of his title, Maul still desired to overthrow Sidious and take his place as the reigning Banite Sith. Maul would never have served as a mere inquisitor, and because he was so powerful, Sidious would always have to keep a close watch on him.
Totally agree.
Agreed.

@@isaacsantana6560 you a weirdo 🤣🤣🤣🤣. But nah. He held the title Darth. I mean he is literally known by everybody as Darth Maul. And Sidious first introduced him as DARTH Maul. So “kNoW yOuR sItH rAnKiNgS HeLLo”
@@isaacsantana6560 Maul was definitely a Sith Lord. Forget all the formal training he had, which apparently means nothing to some. Palpatine even referred to him as a Darth in Episode 1, which everyone seems to forget. Maul was also an "official" apprentice, when Plageuis died in Ep. 1 too.
I also don't know why people believe the rule of 2 being is logically consistent as a law. In fact it was never a hardened law, but a guideline for Sith to follow.
During Banes little order, other Sith were very much alive and roaming the galaxy. Look at the Lost Tribe of the Sith, Darth Krayt's Sith, and a few other Sithe lines that trace back to the days of Sadow, Ragnos, & Vitiate. Hell, Dark Lords like Kun were roaming the galaxy too!
I used to think Maul returning in Clone Wars was evidence that George Lucas didn't quite have things thought out, but when you see him with mechanical legs and then Vader - don't mess with Obi Wan Kenobi.
Obi wan is quite literally the apprentice killer
Facts
Mess with Obi Wan, you must not
Most likely because like Savage Oppress after him Darth Maul was trained to become as a Sith Assassin and their by had in depth knowledge on how to manipulate the Darkside in a way which could lead him to pose a potential threat to Darth Sidious. The Inquisitors on the other hand while trained in the ways of the Darkside where to a large degree stunted in said training to keep them weak enough not to pose a threat to Darth Sidious.
How do we know this is not a scam?
My guess because he feared Vader and maul teaming up against him.
He knew the rule of 2, can’t have 2 trained trying to over throw you 🤣
Right
@@devanton1870 well Vader had his arms and legs cut off and Maul was cut from the waist down so they were both only half a Sith so Sidious is still following the rule of Two
@@netherking3988 😂😂😂😂😂
@@devanton1870 sidious didn’t care about the rule of two when he was still an apprentice he went against his master and trained maul as a Sith Lord rather than a Sith assassin
I’m don’t have the source but I thought Sidious did always intend for maul to replace him. The only reason he took dooku and later anikin was because he “died”. He was actually super proud of him and how deadly he made him.
This is true. When Tyrannus was "sacrificed", it was all part of the plan. Sidious called his death necessary, but said of Maul's "death", "Maul was a loss". He was very proud (in an evil way) of what he made Maul into.
I’d stand a fair chance against inquisitors because I’m not an old republic type Jedi and I will use dark side moves and force attacks when things start to get hot 👌🏼
But I’m not fighting Maul, I’d rather go 3 rounds unarmed against a full grown rancour 😂
How do we know this is not a scam?
@@Theforsakenmedia I hope you already know for sure that that IS a scam! 🤔
@@davidburke2132 yeah i figured it out pretty quick once I saw how many times they commented and the fact that these kinds of scams have been going around for a while.
I always thought Palpatine was going to use Maul against Anakin. My theory originally was that Maul was going to be used by Palpatine to train Anakin where Palpatine would basically tell Anakin "Hey, remember that guy that killed your true master? Well... Time for you to get your revenge." Imagine Palpatine sending Anakin on a mission of revenge to build Anakin's use of the dark side. And then Anakin overcomes and kills Maul which builds up his hatred, maybe even showing us a glimpse of the power Anakin could have by having him temporarily use the dark side to beat Maul.
I do enjoy what we got, and I like the revenge story against Obiwan, but I always felt like leaving Anakin out of the Maul story just felt like a missed opportunity. Especially considering Maul has Savage, and honestly it should have been Obi and Anakin vs Maul and Savage.
I like that, but palpie's shtick is kind of underestimating everyone that isn't him, so I could easily see a scenario where Anakin would end up exactly like he did against Obi-Wan cause Palpie lacks the foresight to even consider that Maul just might beat Anakin.
I can see it now, see Palpatine definitely telling Anakin to kill him more by using his hate. Good movie skit. 🤣🤣🤣
They could still do that with Vader. Maul’s crimson dawn reign has not been covered
I don't see the point. By then it is assumed Vader gives no F's about any Jedi, nor should Palpatine assume otherwise. This would be more for vader to see if he was up to snuff as a true dark lord of the sith instead of avenging a long dead and by now irrelevant name to history.
Damn he would have been the perfect Grand Inquisitor! He is powerful and ambitious enough! He would have been a great ally to the Empire!🔥
Power is not the issue, his ambition is. Like the video pointed out, Maul would be too ambitious to just be inquisitor scum below Vader and Palpatine, and would try move up on them.
Because Maul made more ambition than being lower than a Sith lord, he hated Sidious for killing his brother and making his life hell, and he would've tried killing Vader.
Maul admits he can’t fight vader alone. Most likely he would try to turn at least one of the inquisitors(most likely reva) against vader.
We need the Son of Dathomir comic put to animation
As always my friend….love it. Thank you again for the incredible content
Maul's purpose after he was captured by Sidious was to lure out Mother Talzin, who Sidious viewed as a threat. That plan mostly worked, though Maul escaped after Talzin's death.
He and Vader would have clashed and Sidious declared Maul a Rival since he rules the Underworld
Sidious declared Maul a rival because Maul was claiming himself and Savage as the true Banite Sith Lords while referring to Dooku as a Sith pretender. Because Maul technically was still a Sith Lord (before Sidious stripped him of his title), he had created a war of succession within the Sith order.
@@SarastistheSerpent agreed, but that is their way
2:53 that's not true, or at least not until Sidious realized what he could do with Anakin. In one canon comic book Sidious says Maul was a loss when talking to Vader, but says Tyrannus (Dooku) acted like a proton torpedo by serving his purpose then being disposed of.
Exactly. Maul was always supposed to be his true apprentice. Him losing the Duel of the Fates changed the plans. Tyrannus became a placeholder and tool for the Clone Wars to be disposed of when no longer needed.
Good question, never really thought about that
If only Mall would have elected to have the Mandalorian strain hit me before he made his presence known
It would be an amazing storyline
The thought never crossed my mind
I’m glad that he didn’t make Maul the Grand Inquisitor. Because I don’t see him being the Grand Inquisitor
I think another reason is the rivalry dooku and maul had as seen in the son of dathomir comic also.
i need that monotone evil background music. Helps to feel asleep
Maul would've never followed Sidious orders. If Obi-Wan never killed Maul in Rebels, Maul would've rose in power once again whether it be with Death Watch/Mandalorians or his Criminal Gangs (Pyke Syndicate, Black Sun, Crimson Dawn) connections.
Maul was a Sith lord. He wouldn't play third fiddle behind Vader especially after he set up the Seige of Mandalore to try and kill him.
Exactly 💯
Maul was definitely a Sith Lord. Forget all the formal training he had, which apparently means nothing to some. Palpatine even referred to him as a Darth in Episode 1, which everyone seems to forget. Maul was also an "official" apprentice, when Plageuis died in Ep. 1 too.

The sith that never was. Dooku and Anakin may have been more powerful but maul had intellect, ambition, ferocity and he looks so fucking cool. He deserves to be next in line for DLOTS

Was Dooku more powerful? I'm pretty sure Maul was on demon time if he went into a rage. Dooku may have been more trained in the force, but raw power? idk about that.... Remember, Maul was born and raised dark side so he had no problem channeling all of that anger into force power... Dooku was just a lost soul trying to find a home amongst the Sith lol
Maybe because there was no inquisitors when maul was sidious’s apprentice?…
I REALLY hope we get to see Maul in Kenobi Season 2 to follow-up on that tease Solo: A Star wars story gave us.
"Hi, I really like Sith, and I'm now going to drone on for eight minutes about it."
Could make a what if based on this. What if he was grand inquisitor and he and Vader tried to over throw palpatine despite hating each other
I was so glad he showed up in Solo.
It’s like making your star player who’s D1 bound go down to JV.
I think seeing Mall as the grand Inquisitor would have been so much better than the one in rebels
Another reason to keep him alive is to use his body to switch Palpatine to Maul's body when he got too decrepit and old to use his powers properly
Palpatine saved Maul to rule over the Black Sun. Palpatine needed somebody to bring in all the underworld factions and know he controlled the man in charge.
I’d imagine that he would have had mual as a backup in case his apprentice went rouge
Lost to a Jedi padawan then hired to hunt Jedi masters. Just imagine the Mustafar level roasting he'd receive around the office.
Killed a Jedi Master then lost to his Padawan. Everyone knew it was plot armor so its ok lol
What's the music at the end?
As I was watching this video a question came to my mind. What if Sidious never went to Mandalore and Maul's criminal empire flourished? If Maul actually became the "emperor" of the underworld, would he have enough power to defeat the Empire?
Maul is assassin in Sith ranking system , Sith assassin or stonger then inquisitor
Maul would deny an offer to be an inquisitor. Also Maul was too powerful.
I like your videos bu5 it feels like you say the information than just repeat and repeat it
I’d love to know what Palpatine did whilst Maul was a baby, I can’t imagine him feeding Maul and changing him or acting like a parent. Maybe Maul was raised by droids or someone who was forced to raise him or maybe by a Sith cultist? Same question for the Jedi.

we Have Already Star Wars Visions but I feel Like Like We can Have Even More ...
See I figured he had plans for maul either being defeated by anakin in dooku’s place or a position in the empire like with Tarkin and the governors
Two Points: 1 Maul has Proven in the Past to Be a Threat to Sidious's Plans! 2 Maul would Never Be Satisfied with Simply Being an Inquisitor, He would want Full Power in the Empire! Nothing Less would Satisfy a True Sith Lord! As a Matter of Fact, Nothing Satisfies a Sith Lord! They Always want More and More and More Power, Understanding and Control Over Absolutely Everything! And if they Gained Control Over Absolutely Everything there is to Control, I Seriously Think They would Die with Insanity! Because They Always Want More, More, More, More! But What if there Wasn't Anymore! They would Die with Insanity!
I don't know, if Sidious kept hitting him with that force lightning he might've did whatever Sidious asked he was begging him to stop. And when Sidious called him a rival he couldn't have meant a rival in strength he dismantled him and his brother easily I took it as Sidious basically meaning he's a rival not in terms of strength but in ambition.
The new plan of Sith is to live forever by clone ing over over over king plagues
Firstly Palpatine used maul not just for his link to the night mother, but because maul was occupying mandalore one of the two people who could of prevented Anakin's descent into Vader wasn't around in tandem with Obi-Wan not being around, secondly if maul did become grand inquisitor it'd of been a rather short tenure on his part primarily due to the fact Obi-Wan likely told Anakin a myriad of stories regarding his various skirmishes with maul that alone would likely get him Vader's own personal ire and most probably killed
Now that you mention the Mandalorian's reverence for Maul's strength and their acceptance of him as their leader, that does make me wonder: did any of the Sith or maybe even the Jedi in the past try to claim leadership over Mandalore, or would the Mandalorians have refused their challenges on grounds of being Force users?
After all it didn't seem to bother them that Maul was one, although admittedly he beat Vizla without any Force abilities and nothing more than skill at arms.
Still, I could imagine the Jedi having a vested interest in having one of their own as the new Mand'alor just in order to pacify the Mandalorians.
The Sith on the other hand would probably jump out of their robes in the joy at the prospect of such a mighty fighting force at their beck and call.
Did any try this and the current Mand'alor simply defeated them, or were there specific rules and laws which outright prevented them from being eligible for a proper challenge?
Maul was to powerful yo be an inquisitors right after revenge of the sith vader was very weak after mustafar maul would’ve been more powerful than him for quite a while and if I had to guess would’ve killed him or had an uprising against him especially if maul kept training under sidious
Yea, in short Maul is too powerful, cunning and inspirational to be a simple sith assassin any longer. He, like Sidious said before their battle on Mandalore, "has become a rival"
He also could've used Maul for cloning experiments.
What if Sidious did make maul a inquisitor and maul and Vader decided to team up against Sidious
Not cool because maul and Obi Wan were lowkey beefing and Vader beefing too
Interesting
Darth king lord plagues finish off the rule of two he made new Sith rule to live forever by cloneing himself over over over
imagine Mual as a Inquisitor god help us all
Rather than Mandalore, I would think Sideous would want Maul in the position he was building for himself at the time, Leader of the Crimson Dawn. With Maul as his puppet, Sideous could rule both the galaxy and the galactic underground more efficiently and as Maul had already begun his journey it would have been better to use him, someone he had control of before and could turn again, than someone he didn't know or thought to be too weak to effectively fill the role...
Because he only intended for Maul to be a tool, not the ultimate weapon that would help him achieve his grand design.
No at first he was his true apprentice till he lost to obi wan
@@bigirononmyhip3812 Not even. In Plagueis, Sidious made it clear he never truly shared real secrets of the Sith teachings for someone who was taken on as an actual apprentice. Maul was given the title, but he was only seen as a weapon to achieve Sidious' current goals. He knew that Maul would not be strong enough to face true Masters of the force. He intended for Maul to die and for the presence of the Sith to be known. But he wanted everyone to be confused about where they were and what they were planning. This caused a constant level of distraction that hindered the Jedi from knowing where their true enemy was.
Because he thought Maul was dead …

I think Sidous kept Mual for that Mual could keep Ashoka from Anakin so that it would be easier for Sidous to turn Anakin into the dark side Bc Ashoka would just get in his way and keeping Mual around made Ashoka and the mandolins fight in the Siege of mandolior
If I was Sidious, I would have had the injured Vader and Maul fight to be his apprentice. It's win-win, you get the more powerful apprentice and the biggest rival dies and you don't worry about them then
True but he already had his sights on Vader and he knew Maul was a huge risk. If Maul wins that fight, Maul becomes apprentice again and then He has to rethink everything
I think it's because Vader would have tried to kill Maul in a fit of rage for taking away Qui Gon from him when he was a child 🤷♂️
doubt it. Maul wouldn't go near Vader to begin with. They're both too dangerous and there's hatred between them. Maul still has some values and logic, whereas Vader is pretty much a dark side machine. Maul knew to hide away from the Empire. He played his cards right. Vader would've killed him for sure so there was no way that Maul would join forces just to be a 3rd wheel and then killed by Vader. Although I would've loved to see them duel
its funny how Obi-Wan is the only Jedi to cut down both Palpatines apprentice

Maul could have been a very effective bounty hunter. He would get the thrill of the hunt and get paid for it. He knew he was no match for Sidious after the Clone Wars ended.
He has been trained to be a sith assassin that can use the force. Imagine him crossing paths with boba fett etc.
Too powerful for such a role. But yeah, it'd be cool to see and easy work for him. Still, his power and ego were greater than that of being a bounty hunter. He was raised from birth by Darth Sidious himself. He was definitely meant for more than just bounty hunting...

How do we know this is not a scam?
There were no inquisitors when maul was a sith.....
Even then Darth Sidious "Palpatine" is not only playing both sides of the Clone Wars but also that one shady dude who always be constantly betraying his own, Darth Maul found out the hard way on the planet of Mandalore in Star Wars Clone Wars.
Anyone's best bet in the Star Wars universe is to not be a Sith Lord, 15 minutes of fame until murderous betrayal.
The inquisitors were bait. Bait to draw out Jedi. Pawns at best. Darth maul was a contingency plan should someone come along able to destroy the inquisitors. At any rate he's a one of event meant to be a hammer as his name suggests.
Since no Jedi rebellion occured maul remained locked away to be retrained.
Peraonally it seems just like Maul would've been too ambitious for his own good as an inqusitor, especially given his actions during the clone wars after being found again. He'd end up gunning for Vader and Sidious more than just doing his job.
Edit: I said this before the video was fully done so lol I just said the same things as it does my b.
