When an employer calls you family they mean YOU treat them like family. You work overtime, come to work on short notice, work through holidays, take on responsibilities you're not trained or payed for etc while they do the absolute bare minimum.
I think it's possible that his channel's first video wasn't up yet, first upload on "Kyle hill" was 7 months ago and this was posted 7 months ago, possible it just, didn't exist yet.
I had a feeling when they debut the Because Space lady because Kyle was already considering departing and they wanted to smoothen the transition but i'm guessing nothing big came out of it and he didn't want to drag on his departure.

I would guess that they asked Kyle to do an episode related to one of these promotions and Kyle didn't want to do it. Not having creative control is probably something anyone could go along with, in exchange for a wide platform. Until the day they can't.

I started reading that first sentence and I thought it was going to say that Kyle died. While him leaving sucks, I look forward to seeing him work on something new. Ironically, this is the first Because Science video I've ever seen. I've been a subscriber to Kyle Hill for some time now though, and stumbled across this channel as a recommendation after watching his most recent vid. I'm clearly missing some backstory that's only been vaguely hinted at on the other channel, but I feel like I'm just stumbled across a hidden trove of bonus Kyle Hill content.

honestly, im the most curious as to how many subs this channel lost after this announcement. Certainly there are people who unsubbed simply because they were here for kyle. Im not one of them, i wanna see how this channel evolves from this point on before i jump ship, but i would like to see the statistics.
I would just like to say that because science actually changed my life the things I was interested in before weren't very.. helpful towards becoming what I consider to be the happiest version of myself that I have had I'm just opening my mind to the world of physics and Science and other things like that and it really did all start with this channel. Before I started watching this channel none of the things that I was doing was actually helping me become interested in anything but now I have incentive and motivation to actually learn more and go to school better my education and I just want to say thanks to the channel for being what it has been.
I think if they had someone read the text at least, it would have showed more sadness as a result of Kyle's departure. Just posting a wall of text just feels kind of cold in my opinion.

I started reading that first sentence and I thought it was going to say that Kyle died. While him leaving sucks, I look forward to seeing him work on something new. I'm confident that it will be related to science communication, which means a new show eventually. Plus this channel will get a new host/hosts, so I'm optimistic about what's in store for us.

Ironically, this is the first Because Science video I've ever seen. I've been a subscriber to Kyle Hill for some time now though, and stumbled across this channel as a recommendation after watching his most recent vid.
I'm clearly missing some backstory that's only been vaguely hinted at on the other channel, but I feel like I'm just stumbled across a hidden trove of bonus Kyle Hill content.

honestly, im the most curious as to how many subs this channel lost after this announcement. Certainly there are people who unsubbed simply because they were here for kyle. Im not one of them, i wanna see how this channel evolves from this point on before i jump ship, but i would like to see the statistics.
I would just like to say that because science actually changed my life the things I was interested in before weren't very.. helpful towards becoming what I consider to be the happiest version of myself that I have had I'm just opening my mind to the world of physics and Science and other things like that and it really did all start with this channel. Before I started watching this channel none of the things that I was doing was actually helping me become interested in anything but now I have incentive and motivation to actually learn more and go to school better my education and I just want to say thanks to the channel for being what it has been.
