In this video I talk about the amazing Catalan tradition of human castles or "castells".
This is a channel that tries to provide interesting comprehensible input for learners of Spanish. Get used to real Spanish used in context, and eventually develop a native-like intuition for the grammar and the vocabulary, together with a clear pronunciation. The videos try to be easy enough for a complete beginner in the language to get the gist of the story and start picking up vocabulary.
This method is based on the ALG method developed by Dr. J. Marvin Brown ( algworld.com/ ) and Stephen Krashen's Comprehensible Input theory.

I find your speaking speed to be perfect. Slowing down and pausing, in my opinion, would make it too unnatural. This is a nice immersion technique (I am quite sure you are already speaking much slower than you normally do!!).

Hola, Hace mucho que he estado buscando un canal como este, hablas muy claramente y es facil de entenderte. me ayudaría mucho si puduieras poner subtitulos en español tambien, porque a veces los subtitulos autogenerados son incorrectos. Ahora vivo en Barcelona (mi companera de piso me ayudó a escribir este comentario!) y la semana que viene es el día de sant jordi. Creo que es un buen teme para tu próximo video! Gracias por los videos!

Hi George! Thanks for your comment. Don't worry about how words are spelled! Learning to read Spanish is very simple and you'll have a really easy time of you're already used to how the language sounds and what the words mean in diferent contexts. That's the part that takes the longest so I would definitely focus on that first. Cheers
Excelentes los videos! Se te entiende muy bien cuando hablas. Para lo que es el nivel A1, hablas rapido pero me imagino q es difcil hablar despacio y no ser aburrido.
Tambien esta el foro online para profesores de idiomas extranjeros, FLTEACH.org (somos todos profesores de EEUU). Ahi se van a enganchar mucho tb con tus videos. Por ahi puedes preguntarles que temas les gustaria que trates en los videos.
PD Creo que mucha gente preferiria que contestaras en castellano, ya que justamente el idioma lo estan aprendiendo. (Una simple sugerencia!).

Los videos son buenisimos. Para usarlos en escuelas en USA seria necesario tener un grupo de 10-20 palabras en los dos lenguajes (Sp-Eng) para explicar a estudiantes antes de mirar el video. Es una tecnica normal cuando miras cualquier video.
Gracias por tu mensaje George. Quiero evitar añadir listas de vocabulario por varias razones. Creo que es mejor concentrarse en entender el significado de la historia, en vez de intentar estar pendiente de dónde se usa el vocabulario. Adquirimos un idioma cuanto entendemos mensajes en el contexto, y estar concentrado en las palabras evita que entendamos el mensaje tan bien como podríamos. También quiero evitar las traducciones. Las traducciones en general son mentira (nunca hay una correspondencia al 100% del significado, connotaciones y uso de dos palabras) y usarlas puede llevar a los estudiantes a asumir que las palabras tienen un uso y un significado que no es. Y cuesta mucho de deshacerse de eso después. Si estás interesado puedes leer mi blog (hay un link en la descripción del vídeo). Hay razones por las que no uso nada de Inglés en los vídeos (además de que mis vídeos no son solamente para estadounidenses) ni escribo el vocabulario.
