I'm almost there, but whenever I've tried the entire day to be myself, witty, loud, unapologetic, bold, taunting and stuff, at the end of the day when I'm in bed, everything starts flowing, making me feel too small and like where am i aiming to go with all this, after pushing everyone, acting against everyone, being myself, how will i pave my way out in real world with people and relationships that i know, if i don't get approvals. Because in real world, and with close relationships, there's a lot you need to think and act accordingly about, else you'll be ostracized in some way or hurt someone badly in the process of finding your way. But everyone at some point in their life needs connection so getting that validation becomes important. (Ex: your parents almost everyday taunting you that you're not doing good enough for them. Others trying to pull you to places and then when you don't show up according to their plan, they get pissed for life. Others when you behave some kind of a way that person didn't think you would, they become scared or disappointed.)

Hello Julien: Jesus Christ paid the fine on the cross for your sins and desires a personal relationship with you. But you must repent of your sin and ask God to be your Lord & Savior. By repenting, I mean not living a sinful, wordly lifestyle but instead living according to God's Word.

I have social anxiety, but I am very outspoken at the same time I don't know what triggers it to make me feel imprisoned in my head but like some places I feel comfortable, and I can be out spooked and other places I get this sudden urge of people just looking or watching me,amd i start to freak out in my head. and I am a over weight guy who is working on my weight I've lost 100 lbs but I need to keep going but I feel people judge me because of it and so it causes me to be self conscious

@@jd3990 yeah but they won't really care enough to conciously think of it. It's not like they go "Oh shit let me think of thay guy who did this thing yeats ago" while they are eating their breakfast.
In some cases they will, BUT it only happens when they start by thinking of themselves. Like "I am planning to do this. Oh this is similar to this thing. Which brings me back a memory of this guy that did this".
No one conciously and willingly try to think of you as a main topic. Only if they go offroad from what the main topic came from is only when they start to remember things you did years ago

Living in a self imposed prison distorts reality. What happens when billions of people are distorting reality by living as false selves? Suffering. It's all gaslighting, undercurrents of confusion, distrust, insecurity.. chipping away at our confidence, belittling our existence. Being a genuinely sovereign, free individual is the greatest gift one can give to themselves and to the world. It's worth striving for every moment of every day for the rest of my life. Thank you for the reminder, Julien.

Your videos have been helping me so much. I've never seen a self help person be so real and get down to the root of the issue. I went to a concert the other day and old me would've said hi to two of my friends there briefly but only talk to the other two good friend I had there. The 5th person I know there is really cool and I secretly thought I'd just bother her and probably was secretly annoyed with me.
Well, I made sure to strike up a conversation with all 5 friends and the one I thought probably didn't like me gave me a big hug and we had a really nice conversation.
No self help person has ever helped me come out of my shell like that before. I'm trying really hard to feel relaxed and let go of my fear rather than push through it.

The underlying fear is that we think were going to die if we get rejected, negatively judged, mocked/laughed at, etc. So when Julien says face fears bluff it’s because you need to let the body discharge all the pent up energy that you are resisting to release Aka Letting go, and to prove to yourself that you’re actually safe and didn’t die by triggering these suppressed aspects of yourself or supposedly “fears” we have. 🤯

I was a very roudy kid that ended up getting kicked out of his preschool. Somehow my next kindergarten school allowed was somehow able to mnage me for 1-2 years. All of a sudden I became very shy and quiet in elementary school starting first grade.
Was it all because of social conditioning I wonder?
Even now how do I draw the line between socially appropriate actions vs letting my intrusive actions get the best of me. In my head/my world in kindergarten, I was more my genuine self because I thought it was MY world.
But growing up, reality check sets in and I am actually living in a world full of many other clashing realities.
I think my actions now is still genuine to the degree that I only choose to do what consequences I can tolerate. Can’t be stomping my foot on the table and shouting, else I’ll be fired from my workplace. I genuinely want to work there more than I genuinely want to let loose and act out.
I wonder what your take on this is Julian.

29:00 this!! superbly well explained: fishing for micro-proofs of approval from others to be oneself. The "inner voice" has a counterargument though: if you don't care at all of what others say, then you'll end up doing/saying unethical things. So you can't completely be free. What do you answer to that?

That fight or flight response that happens when public speaking for instance is worse in some people. Which is why it’s easier when they drink alcohol to do that. Most peoples heart doesn’t pound so fast it feels like it’s going to explode when they are speaking in public. It’s not all in your mind is the point. Maybe for some but not for all.

This is a pretty cool one that I've seen. It's almost as if Julian is the playable character who takes NPCs and recodes them to be playable characters.
This also impacts me in the way that I believe about things, that is reality. This is what just came to me. Jesus talks about a scenario of when you get the house clean from a demon. It needs to be filled otherwise when the demon comes back, it'll come back with worse ones than it. It's always been taught that way, so I need to fill the house. Here it is: Well being one in Christ, God has already filled me and there is no more room. So having to deal with "demons" coming out, reality is the wholeness of being filled is already there. Because everything is already complete, but not yet. That's why God and I have to get them out. But I'm already filled when they get out, if I believe.
Also, being a slave reminds me of Paul The apostle talks about in Romans either a slave to the natural of sin or slave to God of righteousness.

But it’s so automatic, I don’t know how to change that.

@@rubin-healmysocialanxiety702 I’d probably say since high school. While I wasn’t picked on really, I didn’t have many friends. I was always the third wheel, the tag along, the guy without a gf. I was the wallflower, the lowest guy in the group, the butt of the jokes. So I always did this to try to impress people and made a fool of myself. So I started fawning to gain approval. This continued in the military. I joined to make myself proud of myself and to prove I can be “that guy”, but my treatment continued, and actually got even worse. I was treated like garbage and always the butt of every joke. Still didn’t get a gf. Because of these bad experiences I always felt like I needed to hide my military service or that I don’t deserve it. What makes it worse is that because I didn’t go overseas I have people still to this day telling me I’m not a real veteran or just dismissing my service completely.
Since I got out of the military, life hasn’t really gotten better. I started looking online for a long distance gf because I couldn’t get on in rl. I met a lot of girls and I eventually did date one and she was a beautiful girl from England, we did video chat and everything. But she was emotionally abusive to me and treated me like crap. I became an alcoholic, suffered from a pornography addiction and didn’t have a job for years. I paid for my own place with the GI bill while I went to college.
I’m 32 now. Still never had a REAL gf. Had a few jobs but nothing sticks because I don’t fit in a lot of places and I’m socially awkward due to low self esteem. I’m 5 ft 2 so that plays in to my self esteem and why u believe I’ve always been treated differently. Maybe it’s an excuse though, I don’t know. No matter what I do in life I always get treated the same. This “growth” that people talk about in life, I haven’t experienced it. I hear stories of people accomplishing amazing things and I just think that I struggle with basic life stuff.
I recently moved to a different state for a fresh start, kept a job for 7 months, we got a new supervisor who didn’t like me and made my life a living hell and she wore me down until I called in sick and then she fired me.
Now I’m jobless, living with a family member, started drinking again, thousands in debt, still no gf. I truly don’t understand why I suffer so much in life. I drink because it’s too painful to be sober. It’s painful just being me. This shows in my body language when I interact with people. It’s a catch 22. I need good experiences to be validated, but in order to have those good experiences, I need to have the confidence and body language of someone who’s a winner. I can’t do that if I’ve lost at every turn. Even if I stay off good, it always ends up crashing. I had a therapist for five years and she didn’t know what to do. You can’t make society treat you differently.
Sorry for the rant bro, I just feel stuck in my own hell.
I should also mention that my parents got divorced when I was 14 and it was traumatic for me as well. My mom became and alcoholic, made a lot of terrible decisions. My dad was in and out of jail.

@@nickp3949you've made it this far. Recognize your accomplishments and mark those down as a win. Another win, you are aware and confronting yourself. What I see, you're stuck in comparison mentality. Infatuating the idea of a gf. Earning her starts with trusting in yourself. Any gf just wants her man to believe in hisself. Prioritize inner work of faith, love and determination. Then the women will find you. Life is short, that's the motivation.

This was 15 years ago and i still remember today. When you REALLY breakthrough you realize what your capable of and everything seems alot easier suddenly. Also over the course of years of putting myself out of my comfort zone has helped as well. Put yourself in social situations. One of the most powerful thing i learned was to be successful you have to put yourself in the right position to be successful.
