Every single day, hundreds of millions of people suffer from giving way too many f*cks. F*cks given everywhere. Strewn about like seeds in motherf*cking springtime. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
In this video, I take a fan through a life-changing process, teaching him how to face his fears, stop worrying about what people think, and ultimately, put an end to feeling imprisoned by meaningless anxiety about things that don’t matter.

I think it is completely irrelevant. Thinking that people don't give a crap about me, does nothing to soothe the embarrassments that I had and relive regularly.
This is the major lie of this kind of therapy or method: these kinds of realizations seldom or never do anything to soothe those emotional experiences.

I am not what I think I am . I am not what you think I am .. I am what I think you think I am .. Buddha said that to elaborate this very topic a long long time ago. We get caught up in this vicious cycle of perception of a perception about what others are thinking about us, but in reality, none of that should matter when you build strong self-confidence and self-esteem.. @@ernestoberger7589

We are a 6 figure income couple and had very little saved and not much cash lying around the preverbal".
    '...don't have $500 for an
emergency" that was us. The big thing was debt all kinds of it, cars mortgage (although our home isn't a high price one), student loans for our kids, and of course credit cards.
One day we just got sick of being broke and went total scorched earth and became frugal overnight. Paid it all off, it took almost 5 years but now we have no debt and this year our savings rate is 50% on basically the same income that had us perpetually broke. So for us it is mainly staying out of debt and watching our spending, at first it was a real effort to save in our HISA and 401Ks but now it's actually fun watching our money grow. No car or vacation or neighborhood is worth being broke or financially unstable.

Part of the problem is that in school other kids really DO care about you, as do the teachers to varying extents, and they either praise or bully you, making it hard to fly under the radar. F giving gets so engrained in you that it takes forever to shake this off, and the schools make no effort to help us with it, but instead regard it as an excellent preparation for corporate and bureaucratic life. Thanks, Mark, for opening our eyes!

It doesn't help that, up until that point in our lives' many important decisions had been made for us and for those that hadn't, we sought approval when making it for ourselves. School is a time when we gain greater control over the decisions, but conditioning has us still seeking approval or meeting criteria that are not our own. The feedback we gain too often focuses on the outcome, "I'm proud of you for making the right choice." When in fact the encouragement should come from why we made that choice, "I'm proud of you for doing what you thought was best, it reflects the type of person you want to be and informs others what is important to you." Eventually we will encounter decisions in our lives where the right choice isn't obvious or may not even exist to us, but we still have to choose. This makes the process of coming to the decision more important than the decision itself because although you may not like the choice you made, you can at least be o.k. with why you made it.

@@Mad4400 I'd say this is yet another aspect of what others think of us, namely that they almost never care about what's good for us as individuals, but rather want us to conform to what's good for THEM or for some conception of "order" they espouse. In other words, the Fs given are entirely one-sided. This isn't exactly rocket science, but it's surprising how few people understand this basic concept.

00:00 🚫 Learn to let go of unnecessary worries and anxiety by embracing the art of not giving a "beep".
01:32 🔦 The spotlight effect, where people believe they're constantly being observed and judged, often doesn't reflect reality. Most people are too absorbed in their own concerns to notice or care about your actions.
03:01 😬 Overcoming the fear of embarrassment is fundamental to not caring excessively about others' opinions. Facing public humiliation diminishes its power over you.
07:24 💔 Being unapologetically authentic in relationships, willing to face rejection, is key to finding genuine connections and self-assurance.
16:25 🐓 Achieving the pinnacle of non-fuckery involves not only liberating oneself from insecurities but helping others shed their constraints, fostering a contagious liberation.

My hearing is horrible. Growing up my brother would talk hella loud and so I speak mostly normal. I got my first hearing aids at 14 and was so nervous about being singled out for them. After a few years I realized my hearing wasn’t ever going to get better. I could either try to hide it my entire life or just get over it. I’m pretty un-apologetic about to now. I just straight up tell people I’m just meeting that I have no idea what they said. Even people who have known me for years still forget and I’ll have to remind them. Like “Yeah, I only heard about 20% of that and have no idea what you were actually saying to me”

Hi mate, I'm in the same boat. I used to apologise when I couldn't pick up a word from strangers but now I straight up tell people that I didn't hear them/repeat what they said/speak louder and clearer (still working on it though!). I think I have this irrational fear of people being rude when I tell them how I really feel, and don't get me wrong, some people are but not everyone

    • @amysparks17
      @amysparks17 Před 5 měsíci +1

I was buying hearing aid batteries once at the corner store, nothing else just batteries, because both mine had died and when the checker tried to talk to me I told her I couldn’t hear her. She laughed and said “sure you can’t” in a very rude way. I wouldn’t have known but my wife was there and set that checker straight real fast 😂

This has genuinely helped me so much I’m a teen and I was feeling not the best regarding my mental state my personality changed and I just wasn’t being myself anymore just trying to fit in. I’ve only watched this video once but it genuinely feels like I’ve been able become myself once again the main thing I was stuck with was that I tried to impress everyone and was imitating a personality I didn’t like. When the weekend ends for me I’m going to try to be myself again. Rejection was also a big thing that was restricting me genuinely this video helps a lot I just wanted to type this because I feel like it’s benefited me in a great way. Thank you

•Well done it’s tough but if you get tough with yourself and evaluate regularly so the crowd doesn’t drown out your own desires i have been there and learnt-Never expect, assume, or demand. Just do your best, control the elements you can control, and then let it be.
•By being yourself you put something beautiful into the world that was not there before. So walk your path confidently and don’t expect anyone else to understand your journey, especially if they have not been exactly where you are going.
•Don’t just educate yourself to be rich, educate yourself to be happy. That way when you get older you’ll know the true value of things, not the price. You will come to realize that the best days are the days when you don’t need anything extreme or special to happen to make you smile. You simply appreciate the moments and feel gratitude, seeking nothing else, nothing more. That is what true happiness is all about in the end
•Remember, you can’t control the impolite things some people say and do to you, but you can decide not to be distracted by them.
•Feel privileged that you are like a beacon of light that comes to their minds when there is darkness in their lives.
•Sometimes getting the results you crave means distancing yourself from people that don’t serve your best interests. This allows you to make space for those who support you in being the absolute best version of yourself. It happens gradually as you grow. You find out who you are and what you need, and then you realize that people you’ve known for awhile don’t see things the way you do. So you keep the wonderful memories, but find yourself moving on.

One thing I've very grateful for. Is early on, I never really cared about what anyone else thought. Definitely helped my early years, as I can see my younger brother who is 12, really struggling with kids his own age. He can't take any criticism from his own friends, even when they're clearly joking. Not giving a fuck, really is a lifestyle and it certainly helps live a happier life. From my experience at least.
