Well done Captain Eclipse !!!; this was first and foremost a great "Mother Nature" event explanation (and well done); also , the Historical location was fascinating (including the other "Humans" who attended, thank goodness "Tractor Man" wasn't on duty; !!!) ; the footage from the Mini 4 is simply staggering when you compare it to any of the latest Mavic incarnations...........
Wow Steve! Excellent job on the filming, flying and planning! You should be incredibly proud of this project and the results. Thanks for sharing this and I will be sure to pass it on to my group of friends and family to have a watch! Again, excellent work!
Awesome! Good that you got totality with the corona. Great shots and location. I caught the August 1999 one in England. On impulse I drove 6 hours overnight after work to Penzance and 11 hours back the following day. Everywhere was booked up, police shut roads and diverted traffic, so couldn't avoid the conjestion out of Cornwall and the west country. This was before camera drones and smartphones. It was an experience worth the journey, even though it was overcast that morning. Sir Patrick Moore was doing a live broadcast nearby and suggested to look to the west to see the approaching shadow of totality travelling towards us at over 1,000 mph. You have to be there, glad you got to see it. Have an awesome day.
I remember the one from 2017 it was surreal- it's like it got darker while still being light and hot out- I remember using my welding helmet on that day to check it without burning my eyes. This time was far more lame- clouds
We were in the direct line of the total eclipse. Watched from in front of our garage. Viewed the eclipse ftom beginning to end about a little over an hour. Our street lights came on as well as tge neighbors night lights. The birds began to sing as we passed into light once again from the total eclipse. Awesome!😊
This was a fun one, Cap'n! I was hoping to be able to capture the transition from light to dark to light again with my Mini, but it was too windy here in Brockville for me to keep it up at altitude. Great to see what you were able to capture, and definitely glad to have had the chance to experience a total eclipse, even if we had some cloud during totality - it was till a pretty awesome thing. Love the content as always - happy flying!
Killer video Steve!! You could see stars in the sky with the camera setup behind you. I love electronics and tech. Its my kryptonite and you sir are batman with all of your toys and gadgets. The problem is they are too damn expensive for the "everyman".
Absolutely incredible and beautiful 💯🙂🌞🌛. Thank you so very much Steve for sharing this video and God bless you and your family always. Have a great week
Absolutely brilliant video steve that must have felt very surreal unfortunately I didn't get to see the eclipse in the UK but thank you for sharing it with us looking forward to more reviews etc keep up the good work my good sir from joff the trucker in the UK 🇬🇧
Great job Steve! Wow! Noone edits better than you! Especially for this very special occasion! 3 cheers for Steve. Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray!! Hip Hip Hooray!!!
I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and I just received my first DJI Minin 4 drone as I have been using the DJI Mini 2 drone for the past 3 years on my CZcams video vlogs. I hope one day that I too will have the chance to get to film a Solar Eclipse. I have some interesting things to share with you, that I will be sharing very soon that may be of interest to you my friend in watching. see you soon...
Thanks for a very special different view that you showed from the mini 4 pro. Seeing the horizon bright all the way around but it was dark where you were was a really cool view. Thank you for another awesome video Steve!
Thank you for this great video. The footage taken with the second ground camera from behind you looks so unreal. There is light but a the same time it looks like there is no light. I love the shots taken from above with the DJI Mini 4 pro, especially the look around at the "360 degrees sunset". Fantastic material and great editing! Looks like it was a lot of work. It was really worth it! Not to mention all your plans. You have chosen a very beautiful location. It was a pleasure to watch your video and listen to the narration. Best gretings from a heli freak in Poland!
Another great video Steve I like how you explained what you did get the footage that you obtained! Only got 65% coverage where I live in Florida but it was neat to observe it through my telescope! Stay warm up there..........
Glad you had a view, mine was clouded over in Cobourg. Still it was a fun event, met some great people. Good idea of yours to film down toward the ground, I didn't think of that!
Thank you for capturing this. I was in Carbondale with my Mini 1 but technical difficulties kept her grounded. Nice to get a different POV on the event.
Yeah, some people have the luck I guess. Every single time we have some kind of celestial show, I can never see it, because it's either raining, cloudy, or something else but I never get to actually see it with my own two eyes. The last time we had some kind of comit and it was closer than the moon and could be seen with the naked eyes, but of course we had a rain storm come that same early evening. Of course I was pissed and should have known better. This eclipse was similar, we had a bunch of clouds coming in early afternoon. Either way Steve, I enjoyed the video and you caught some great stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Steve, Thanks for sharing. I will be honest, never in my life have I experience a total solar eclipse first hand and with my own eyes, everytime one comes to my location, the weather is always problematic, if its not rain, its total cloud cover and I live on an island. It feels surreal and almost eerie as the light dissappear and everything becomes dim around you and the mini shot looks cool when you look towards the horizon and see light there and almost like a sunset. I wonder how people in flight would have seen the eclipse if their flight was going towards the solar eclipse flight path? That would be great to see also.
Fantastic, great production, I am sharing this , wishing you Steve this gets billions of hits...🎉🎉🎉
Watched in Aylmer, Ontario, Canada...1minute and 58 seconds of totality, what an amazing once in a lifetime event with my 6 year old grandson...
Eclipse: Stunning experience and stunning video 🎉, thanks captain ❤😊
Great Job filming Steve! I enjoyed this and always enjoy all your videos!
By far the best solar eclipse video production I've seen. Kudos Steve!

Excelent vídeo!!!!!! This is the best thing I can say 😊
we are the only 2 on the face of youtube who filmed the eclipse with drones lol
Not really a reason too
There are a ton of drone eclipse vids.
I had my Mini 4 Pro up and did a timelapse in and out of totality.
@@IamHerk same with my OG Mavic Mini. I’m prolly the only one in the whole world to still fly that drone lol.
I really hope my Mini 4 Pro lasts as long as your Mavic Mini has.
Well done Steve! Great footage and you are a wonderful teacher:)
Thank you kindly!
thats brilliant Steve we have eclipse now and then but it's always cloudy never seen a proper one well done.
Very good sir! It was very cloudy here but it kept peeping through the clouds so we got the experience.

Good job Steve 👍 I only got a 62% eclipse in my area in Manitoba but I saw a total eclipse in 1979.
I’m in North Carolina so I saw some of it through the clouds! “didn’t have glasses” Still a pretty cool experience!
