The selector doesn't go away, you can keep it in your inventory and see what youll get in the future that may influence the decision of each gun to pick.
I decided on the shotgun simply for the fact that most of the characters in the game benefit from weapons with the same elemental effect they do. Most of my roster doesn’t need Kinetic effect, regardless of the unique skills provided for each weapon. And Fenny deserves a nice weapon for being an awesome carry anyways.

This is so true. This is what I chose anyway. I mean, I also chose the shotgun, and for this very reason. Let's say it's funny that I already have two thermal SRs. Two different ARs. One electric and one thermal. And it's all purple. But the legendary magnum is still nowhere to be found. 🤣
By the way, it might be weird, but I think, with the exception of 1-2 characters, all of them have a bonus that requires a weapon matching their own damage type. If I now choose a kinetic pistol just because it has a better rate of fire, isn't that bad anyway? Because I think overall it would have been a waste if I decided that way.
i just impulsively chose Coronet Fenny for my free 5star and didn't waste time picking up that electric shotgun lol

I also picked the pistol from the special weapon drop pod for the same reason 2 days ago, since it's the only pistol so far with 240 RoF and a really good weapon skill.
the attachments for these weapons is where its at, to bad there no sniper gun in this selector

@@marcohcristobal7637 clearing chapter 5 hard while lvl 43 was a brutal experience but crazy satisfying. Chenxing makes that long fight manageable since its so challenging and thats why i like this game because with a good strategy and skill its possible to do it without needing crazy high power level.
From my own experience get at least one good sniper character and the shotgun gale, extremely versatile combo, you can clear the LV.90 challenge w/ 6000+ scores at ~LV.40 F2P.
Basically that's how far you can go as of now, the end game is a game of numbers and the testing ground of your wallet.

picked maritime for my 4 star fenny and she destroys heavy armor enemies. the only 4 star weapons that I'm really hunting for are prismatic igniter and strawberry shortcake which if I'm not mistaken have a chance to also be available in regular supplies shop. those two weapons equipped on my 4 star enya and fritia will complete my 5 star yao team.

thank god I read those stats well, I didn't know case was THAT exclusive. can confirm pistol is best in the game rn, even on diff type character it just shreds everyone to pieces. I have it on my 5* Acacia
Best in the game? I wouldn’t go that far. Shotgun and sniper out dps pistols on any character as well.

But what about the weapon's element tho, is it important? Acacia is chaos dmg, and the pistol from special drop pod is kinetic dmg.

Everyone loves Fenny, but i am all for Acacia 4 star, if i get Kaguya I'll switch over. Issue I'm having is trying to get a weapon with Chaos element lol.
What is kinetic dmg for?
The shotgun is a solid and beter option for fenrir 4stars.
How important is the element of the weapon? Like, should Yao Winter Solstice use a Thermal weapon? Is it a must?
if your skill had like... "increase thermal dmg etc" you better use the same element
Some characters can get away without matching element, others like Yao have neuronics that specifically need you tip use a thermal weapon. So it’s just dependent on the character, but usually DPS should match element and support should just use whatever weapon has the best support skill.
Yao Winter Solstice has two neuronics that only activate if she has a thermal weapon equipped.
What can you expect...
Basically comparing a semi-auto vs a single / double action revolver.
Semi is fast and that's true but some uses low caliber rounds except the deagle, if that even exist in game. Revolver on the other hand uses bigger rounds that packs a punch.
In short version... Semi, fast but decent.
S/DA, slow but hits hard.
For me, I picked the shotgun for Fenny.
Are purple guns really that important? I mean, how long are going to use it until you get an orange weapon...
I chose the blue shotgun for my fenny because i love her lol. And it suits her blue outfit

Only if you want the 5* Weapon for your Standard 5* like Space Cowboy for Yao.

Is it require to pick weapon that correspond to the character type? like chaos dmg type character need to use a gun deal chaos dmg.
it is better to have them be the same type but it's not a requirement
Idk if it applies to all characters, but as i read, yao's (5*) skill+ult in particular has dmg enhance that is locked behind thermal weapon type. So if you're using yao without matching her with thermal weapons you're missing plenty of dmg bonus from her skill n ultimates.
So I'd say read your character description & neuron upgrade for each character on whether or not they have an effect that activates only if they're equipped with matching elements & whether or not that effect is significant enough to be a deal breaker.
Only if they require it somewhere in their kit, or their kit enhances that type of damage, therefore making it stronger to use that element. For example, 5* Yao requires her to use a thermal sniper rifle if you get one of the main skill neuronic enhancements or whatever you call it. Kaguya Acacia also has that requirement(frost pistol) for one of her Manifestations to work. This just means you need to read their skills and enhancements(neuronic+manifestations if you have them) to see, or just follow the in-game recommendations which are pretty straightforward. I'm currently using the blue frost pistol for Kaguya despite not having that manifestation, because it enhances frost dmg, and none of my 4* pistols can boost her damage or support abilities nearly as well. Gotta make due with what you have. Conversely, my 4* Frenny is using a chaotic shotgun because it's the strongest one available and she doesn't have any kinetic damage boost or kinetic weapon requirement.

It seems tons of 3 star pistols also have rate of 240, but they won't be good on late game. :/
Sometimes you wish these kind of games would release on other platforms instead only PC or android.
I test it on acacia Kaguya still 3star frost weapon max combine are slighty better overall
Most kaguya damage is from her standard skill, stacked. Rate of fire is for normal attack / ballistic
So. Just tested all the blue pistols lv 1, slow, fast, and every element. No logistics.
The slow pistols do about 2x the damage as the fast pistols, despite the listed damage being the same.
i'll hold unto it for now, since its not like I/We badly need to obtain

Pistol of Fire rate 75 Ricochet 1 time All penetrated Armored Units
This is just like Magnum Vs 9mm Pistol Which Velocity/Muzzle Energy/ Recoil are both calculated
Long story Short
75= For Heavy Equip Enemy
240 = Light Equip Enemy

@@-x1l so i just explored the weapon upgrade menu. There's actually similar shard mechanic for higher rarity weapon called "modify", which will increase your weapon effect/passive number. Sorta like refinement/superimposition in genshin/hsr.
@@-x1l Yes it's that perk upgrade, i said "similar". Since you previously mention the usage is more toward raising level (weapon exp fodder from my understanding).
