  • What do your emotions tell you? Pay attention to not just the loud ones on the surface, but the layers of emotions underneath and discover how emotions effect on the body. What else am I feeling is an important question to ask yourself to better understand what is the message that is carried by emotions and the way you are feeling. What are the threats and opportunities your emotions signal? In this video we'll talk about the neuroscience and the brain how we can regulate and thrive with emotions. We'll give you this free activity on how you can grow and practice emotional intelligence

BONUS EXERCISE INCLUDED IN THIS VIDEO:
    EXPANDED FEELINGS DOODLE MAP
Purpose: Discover, acknowledge & explore a bigger range of feelings
Materials: Scratch paper (or roll of paper) & color pencils (or pens, crayons, etc)
    Time: Around 5 minutes
Who: This works for all ages, you can do by yourself or with others
    Activity Instructions ##
Pick a color to represent one of your feelings and begin to "doodle" on your paper, expressing the feeling through the intensity of color, shapes, and size -- for example, an intense feeling might cover a lot of the page, be very intense in color and shape.
Next, pick another color and add.
Add at least 3, but preferably 6 or more colors. Each time, ask yourself Josh's question: "What else am I feeling?"
As you work, you might name the feeling, and even ask yourself, "What's the value of this feeling?" There's a fantastic free resource on our site to help with this called the Emotoscope Feeling Chart:
    www.6seconds.org/2018/10/16/e...
    REFLECTION ##
Look at you completed sketch and consider:
... looking at your "map" of feelings, what do you notice?
... did you realize you had so many different feelings?
... are there unexpected feelings there?
... how do you feel now after putting these on the paper?
... what's one aspect of your current situation that's become more clear or vivid as you've done the exercise?
PLEASE SHARE an answer in the comments below.
And... to help you practice emotional intelligence... what other movies should we make?

Great video! "What else are you feeling?" -- This is a powerful question I will ask more often not only in a coaching environment, but also with my relatives when checking in.

"What else are you feeling?" is a wonderful question! I'll add that to my list.
Most greet with, "Hi, how are you?". Instead, we use, "Hi, what are you feeling?". It changes the tone of the conversation instantly, and helps people stop and become aware of themselves and their feelings. We can create EQ in others! Plus, I find it great fun to watch people dig around inside themselves to try to find and identify what's going on :)

this is a question we can ask ourselves! Especially when we're feeling stuck. Opening yourself to the idea that we can have multiple feelings at once can be a surprise. Try being curious and holding the space for yourself to really wonder 'what else am I feeling?"

The activity of taking colors and filling in the white space to represent emotions: "What else are you feeling?", provides an active stimuli to the brain that is visually seen while uncovering layer upon layer of feelings. The ultimate piece is a beautiful artwork of emotions. When I began, I was drawn to 1 or 2 primary colors and noticed the blends of other colors that fully expressed what I had been feeling but didn't realize at the start. Wonderful segment, Joshua! Thank you...

Thanks Jennifer! We're all experiencing so much disruption and change to our "normal life" I think it's great that we are innovating and figuring out how to support our mission to help 1B people practice EQ. We're getting creative on new channels (like CZcams!) and doing online conferences.

Thank you Josh. I always embrace your conversations. Here in South Africa I am also busy with making short 3-minute video clips for my clients, about feelings and what they can do/try with the emotions. I am so happy to be part of the Community of EQ friends.
