Hi Peter thanks for all your helpful videos. I have a 99 Corolla with the oil consumption problem. Would I be able to fix this problem with replacing just the rings or should I replace the pistons also
I think my car has a problem and needs these changed. I'm going to try some of oil leak stopper first, but if it doesn't work then I'm just going to drive the thing into the junkyard and walk home.

my car has a misfire on 4 and i cant tell if its the head gasket or the cheap piston rings they put in the 2009. runs rough and makes noise... new spark plugs and coil didnt fix it at all.
Peter Finn my tuck is emitting kind of white smoke.. Can i get some help please? -when at idle... The smoke comes out only at high rpm.. And the truck starts as a charm without any smoke -when driving, the smoke comes out after changing gear and accelerating then smoke emission stop when the truck goes smoothly -the smoke also comes when driving as if uphills and then stops on flat roads Any suggestions on what could be the problem please?
And if you put new rings on a old piston your not fixing the problem at all get new piston hone the cylinders measure the bore of the block check the gap of the piston rings and then assemble everything but always check piston to wall clearance ring gap and bore size !
@@TheRafy127 yeah I talked to a machine shop they said the same thing you just did. Some guys just post videos for views and leave out the discouraging extra stuff. I'll be doing my engine after hoan and measuring to go up a size possibly if needed.
Cleanliness is very important when working with engines
Keeping those gritty carbon in piston skirt is a sure way to run into problems later on

He dint even check the piston gap or the bore how the f!@ck he knows that the pistons rings have the right mm of gap !!
