This guy is passionate, and its intoxicating. Hope the results reflect his drive; it could be something special.
I realize now another reason they may have brought this dude in instead of someone with more of a NFL background (yes I know he has experience in the league) is because he relates more to having a younger roster. He knows the teaching of fundamentals to a younger group is more important than shoving complicated stuff down their throats.

The defense doesn’t even need to be great. Just middle of the pack would be a huge improvement from the last few years. I have confidence in Hafley. Xavier McKinney is going to shine bright in this scheme. GPG!
They were actually a top 10 defense last year and were "middle of the pack" pretty much every year the 3 years prior to that (17th, 13th, 13th).

Cooper and Bullard made that defense insanely more exciting and that it’s easily going to be one of the best defenses in the league!! I just realized this he was with Saleh and the 49ers defense!!! So this defense is literally going to be 49ers style!! Nobody is gonna realize that Cooper is going to be a legit problem! He’s got rare athleticism that LBs today don’t carry with themselves! That’s one of his biggest traits is the rare athleticism he brings. You can just tell he’s so excited about this brand new looking defense and knows exactly what kind of style they want to work on and get all of those guys to become confident knowing exactly where to go and attack the ball and stuff! Thats exactly what the 49ers defense was when we faced them in the past, incredibly confident and knew exactly where to go and to attack the ball immediately! Thats where the level of the 49ers style being 4-3 attacking the ball constantly is where this Packers defense is literally going to be

Everyone wants to impress the new coach. The energy and effort is normally elevated and as long the system works and the coach is someone they believe in, you can have a top 10 defense.

The days of dominating defense are gone. It's all about "situational defense" now. Getting off the field on 3rd down and being tough on 4th down and goal line are keys. You have to have the personel to achieve your defensive goals but you have to have the play calling too.

The proof is in the pudding Hafley. We are a sensitive bunch when it comes to defense. You have an opportunity to settle our nerves and change the narrative surrounding defense in Green Bay. We are SUPER excited about the team this year, especially if we progress further than last year. But lets make the defense a source of pride instead of embarrassment in Green Bay. The Packers team and the fans deserve nothing less!
