Returning My Dream Gretsch: What Went Wrong?

I've wanted a Gretsch for years. In many ways this is my dream guitar. Why didn't I buy one sooner? Owning this was in many ways a dream come true. But watch to see how that dream quickly became a nightmare, and ultimately why I had to reject the guitar and send it back.

I loved this Gretsch G5230T Electromatic Jet FilterTron in Gloss Black! I've wanted a Gretsch for years and, and sound & playability wise, this one did not disappoint. Why didn't I just buy one earlier? This could be THE guitar for me.
Let me show you how beautiful this guitar is. Warning: I'm a beginner so don't expect expert playing, or an in-depth review, but I will entertain. Honest.

At the end of 2020 I was challenged to record a cover version of "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes on my guitar. The challenger said that if I recorded it then they would record themselves singing over it. This kick-started my 2022 drive to not only re-learn the guitar, but improve on my 'skills' from my 20's, finally conquer the instrument, and start the "Guitars Are Hard" CZcams channel to share my experiences and knowledge with others.
