“Different culture make rice differently.” For a split second I thought he was agreeable but then “just some culture is wrong” lol savage
Auntie Hersha mentioned in an interview that she apparently knows how to properly cook rice, more so prepare egg fried rice. Just so happened that the way she cooked the disgusting egg fried rice was based on the recipe BBC gave her.
I really admire Hersha BTW. She's been a pretty good sport and she truly has a sense of humour.
Yeah true That was the BBC'S fault. They already took the responsibility for that misleading way. Auntie Hersha star is brighting
true
Thanks for pointing that out, I also saw that interview with the BBC and Nigel. I think it was unfair that people were calling her a bad cook when it wasn't even her recipe in the first place, BBC producers just told her to cook it that way. She's very sweet and funny in this video :)
@@miananor4304 Totally. She doesn't deserve all the trolling she's been receiving from people. Nonetheless, that same error BBC made has caused her to have this collab video with Nigel which can serve as a happy pill during this tough time haha
I admire her being a good sport really. But what chef will follow a producer's recipe? She's a good chef on her own right. Why follow BBC? I can't follow this logic really.
The "Uncle Roger" thing is just an acting. I was surprised that he spoke differently in the BBC interview. She also said in the interview that the egg fried rice recipe is from BBC and she just followed it. It's not really her way of cooking rice.
From what I could tell he does stand up? And Uncle Roger is a character he made for his youtube channel!
We all know it. We all love Uncle Roger.
But honestly, I'm still confused. How the hell BBC created that recipe? Not wash the rice before cooking them? Rinsing the rice with water after it cooked? wth. Rice would absorb that water and it will get soggy. Fried soggy rice, I just don't get it.
@@nyx4074 I reckon that nobody in that BBC kitchen team, has ever cooked rice before 😅
@@nyx4074 Maybe they try to be more health, maybe they try to make a wrong recipe to let the western peoples dislike the Asia foods, who knows?
You’ve missed the last part, where she taste her fusion fried rice, she was disgusted haha.
Yes, I was waiting for them to react to that! Super funny 😂
Yeaaaa I'm also waiting them to react this part
Dyeeemm they missed the last part! Im also waiting for it 😆

AND YES YOU PUT GARLIC FIRSTTTTTT BEFORE THE RICEEEE
Hahaha fried rice is not fried rice without Garlic.
BTW, Filipino here. Fried Rice is a staple in evey Filipino breakfast.
Wait they actually cook garlic AFTER putting the rice inside? *pukes*
You put garlic first so the garlicky taste would stick to the rice. What's the point if you put garlic after??
@@bangotmyko9411 yezzir hahaha joke lang di ko alam gender mo
@@bmona7550 the reason u cook the garlic first or any onion to make caramelized.. the aroma and the taste give u more appetite
Uncle roger was a comedian, he's just impersonating typical chinese
if not mistaken, he's a Malaysian chinese comedian
more like stereotypical chinese
Uncle Roger is Nigel Ng’s secret identity
he is still one bro..
Plot twist, Nigel Ng is Uncle Roger playing the character of a comedian
Every Asian knows that it should be the Garlic first 😂
True
Peruvians too.
Damn Uncle Roger is an old school Chinese man, if you notice the phone pouch on his belt waist
I don't think he's that old. I kind of find him attractive
uncle roger is Nigel's character. hes acting
@@ouranhshc100 how old is he btw?
@@ouranhshc100 lol I know, I'm just talking about his phone pouch, he is still a Chinese man, and that's how Manglish sounds too
@@joshuacanteveros526 ahahhha
HAIYAA has no meaning, is just an expression of unexpected disappointment.
Depends on how you say it.
Haiyaaaaa!!!!! ( ̄Д ̄)
More like "Sigh" for western
@@chenps8792 Asians say it almost everytime
Uncle's Roger's way of cooking rice is universal to almost all Asians (and I'm including all of Asia, not just Eastern and Southeastern countries). My dad taught me how to measure the water to cook rice using the index finger.
you must have a long index finger. my mother taught me to use the middle finger because it touches the rice first and not that it is the dirty finger.
@@basakboy I use my pebeeep
I like Aunty Hersha was positive woman 🥰🥰🥰
Usually, Pinoy's fried the rice the next breakfast. So whatever left over the night that's going be fried the next day.
Hector Padrigo that’s why Hersha rinsed the cooked rice with cold water because fried rice calls for cold or refrigerated rice so the result won’t be sticky.
@@sonnyathens519
Wow. If only someone invented something that keeps food cold🤔🤔
Sonny Atienzar Its not cold or refrigerated. It’s slightly dried rice. Refrigeration or spreading it on a sheet tray is really good for drying rice for fried rice
@@annegellyne201 auntie helen's heart can help XD
When he say I'm gonna suicide.
Maybe Western people can't get the Joke.
It literally mean I'm gonna put a stop to that.
It's a very Asian English way to say.
Sometimes we talk over exaggerated.
But. We are not being mean to anyone.
It's just a way to express the situation.
You guys didn't watch until the end where you see them both actually make fun of the monstrosity that Herscha made! ^_^;; but yea, it was a joke at the end. whoever thinks that they can put THAT much marmite into anything is joking... :P
Exactly
I know!!!!
I'm glad that they knew it was a joke
Uncle Roger makes me laugh. He’s funny.
That's the thing about being funny, he will make you laugh.
No shit
Bet thats becuz hes a COMEDIAN
I yay
Haiyaa
Just to clear things: 1. “Haiya” is like a ‘smh’ or ‘sigh’ in Malaysian and Singaporean slang. It’s like 哎呀 (Aiya) (Mandarin) , or 아이구 (Aigoo) (Korean). 2. In Singapore and Malaysia, (actually I believe Chinese culture in general correct me if i’m wrong), we call everyone uncle and aunty even if they aren’t related to us. The parents of your friend, that hawker down the street, we call them aunty and uncle. 3. Chinese medicine shop; it’s where we purchase chinese herbs and seek chinese medicine consultation. 4. Uncle Roger is Malaysian if you didn’t know!!
Uncle Roger indeed funny lol
PH is "Hay na'ko." :')
Haiya is also cantonese, slang translation for OMG or dear god.
if u omit the ya after haiya, it actually is a f.word (female pubic area) in Cantonese
All true
You missed the last part where Hersha said her fusion rice is disgusting 😂
Uncle Roger and Aunty Hersha becoming friends is what 2020 needed 🥳
Uncle Rodger and aunty need their own show, what a great duo!!
Evelyn not amused!
5:12 "Indian people know how to cook rice too, except you" 😂😂😂😂
Well... yeah. We are
I am surprised she does not have rice cooker.
Im an filipino i am just 11 y/o i learned to cook rice when i was in gr.3 in age of 8y/o because our parent teach us to stand on our own feet😉👌
Oh, didn't know J. Lou sort of participated. She did a female Uncle Roger type of video.
Yeah watched it. Excellent!
I wish he taught her the finger-measuring magic.
you spread the rice evenly in your pan then you marked the height of your rice with your index finger and thumb, then you fill it up with water around the same height up to twice (depends on your rice type) from the top surface of rice to your marked finger
@@anonym5789 lol at least there're still plenty of people in the world got no clue on how to cook rice properly.😁 btw i'm also asian
@@maxtr1986 Thanks. I know it. i just wanted him to show the viewers. Also, so he wouldn't be all-talk.
@@anonym5789 haha same. so we're neighbour then 😄
Uncle Rojah always refers to himself in the third person.
"Haiyaa" is something chinese people do when they are annoyed haha
Yep thats so true i always say that
It's like my goodness!
Isn’t it a Cantonese dialect?
@@jhleeify1 both Mandarin and Cantonese I think
Not really even i use haiyaa when i disappointed with something im not Cantonese or chinese
Came here from Nigel's channel and love your channel already! Subscribed❤️
Btw, "Haiya" is a response/slang that we have here in Malaysia (not too sure about other countries) to show impatience or frustration. The tone of "Haiya" varies too (jokingly to dead-ass serious) LOL
NOOOOO!! YOU MISSED THE PART AT THE END WHERE THEY TASTE THE RICE WITH ALL THE THINGS MIXED IN 😢😢
I watch their interview on BBC. Egg fried rice lady said the recipe and the way of cooking rice was from BBC and not hers.
"Haiya!" is like saying "My God!"
The people who are reacting look a lot like the people who where In uncle Rogers video when he was working at the restaurant Mei Mei

I thought the same thing.
That one is hilarious. I like where he shoo away a vegan customer :P
not really
i actually just watched your reaction on uncle roger earlier and luckily to be here lmao. just discovered you guys because of it♡ and love the vids
Nigel is soooo funny. I do like his persona Uncle Roger, really funny. 😁
He is also a stand-up comedian
Its great auntie hersha took everything in stride and made new content after
For anyone who doesn't know who the girl that they called in the video, her name is J Lou. She's a popular CZcamsr and is of Chinese and French descent and born in Hong Kong. Her fandom name I believe is rice fam, and she also reacted to the BBC fried rice video.
Finally!❤️ the collaboration is here❤️❤️
Owwwwwww... you didn't wait for the last part....
When they ate the Asian Fusion Rice... hahaha
Hey guys, fyi Uncle Roger is from Malaysia and here in Malaysia, we call people who are older either Uncles and Aunties or Akak (mean Sister) and Abang (means brother). :D
when you look at it, they are match made from heaven.. 😂🤣😂🤣
I hope they have more collab someday with auntie and uncle hahahhaha
Uncle roger is so savage omg I love it 😂😂😂
From Malaysia here.. 😘😘
Auntie Hersha in the clear! hahaha both of them are good sport!, The ending part of the vid was funny as well.
Actually..
We Filipinos..we sautè first the garlic and onion..
Cook the garlic until golden brown..then add the onion..
Then everything follows.. 😆😋
Chinese-Malaysian here. That's the correct way of cooking egg fried rice!
I'm having a great day today 😂 I waited for this part 2!🤣🤣
They should have a show together 🤣😂🤣
Omg! I was laughing from start to finish! Good show you guys! 👍😉

You know he can speak english without an Asian accent. he's just doing the accent for the video.
Haiyaa! We know that.
he has an American accent

he is Malaysian though and there is a video of him doing stand up comedy in his hometown I saw.

lol you guys missed the ending of the video where Uncle Roger and Aunti Hersha tasted her asian fusion fried rice and nearly vomited!
Uncle Roger and Auntie Hersha have become the super duo as of late. They are comedy gold. I just saw a video where they were in Chinatown getting stuff.
Omg this is so funny
makes my day thank you haha
Very funny.... i like it.... laughing all the time watching....
Tbh, this is how my Chinese boss scold me when I'm working on someone's car (it's more like a joke than scolding and it always make me laugh), both of us are mechanics btw
He roasts people using fork on eating rice, but he actually did that if you notice, lol
I was surprised that auntie hersha dont know how to cook rice , I have an indian friend and he cooks rice very well..
😂😅🤣Hilarious duo!
Be safe! Cheers!
You clearly miss the last part ☹ that was the funniest thing ever, the reaction !
Haiyaaa is also very common in NE Indian particularly the Nagas & Manipur as in oh no, what the , not again etc...
Here in tamil nadu we say haiyoo or aiyoo. High five indian fam 🙌
I died when uncle roger says HIYAA
haha so funny. he is a comedian and he is playing a character "uncle roger" .. hes not a chef or anything like that its just for fun and its brilliant. the rice lady was following a recipe from BBC not her own way of cooking rice.
BBC is not a reliable source.
They not watch till the end 😂 last part uncle rojer 😂

I used finger to measure when cooking normal white rice...but when I cooked nasi lemak I used 1 cup rice with one cup santan or coconut milk..
