Yeah, I'm basically incapable of being mean to NPCs, and I don't even like people. Now animals, which I very much do like... Yeah, that ain't happening.
I miss kinectimals
I have to admit that the cubs are very cute, realistic enough to be fluffy and cuddly without being uncanny, and just cartoony enough to be more expressive than an actual animal would actually be without too fake or forced.
Could really do without Bumble though, he kind of ruins that whole vibe.

I was thinking that about the grass. I was just sitting here like "oh wow the graphics are like it came out in 2024"
....it's not that good. I mean it's definitely very good for when it came out, but seeing it today it looks very fuzzy around the edges and undetailed to me lol, like there's not enough layers. The models and textures are very very cute, I don't think they're exceedingly realistic though
@@snakewithapen5489 That's about the only real criticism of it, tbh. Like, feline fur does have that fuzziness around it as the hairs become thinner, but some of the animals do look a little too fuzzy at times, which may partly be from the game rendering at what looks to be 720p. Looking at the shop lemur definitely makes you feel like you're failing an eye exam though, lol
Still, the cat fur looks shockingly good, especially considering this game came out in 2010. The lighting on the black cub, in particular, is really well done, they replicated that smooth coat sheen almost perfectly and the fuzziness gives it that softer glow at shallower reflection angles. Even the cat fur in Stray looks rather clumpy and dull, by comparison, and that game came out in 2022. And, sure, Stray dedicated a _lot_ more resources to rendering the environments, so it's not exactly a 1-to-1 comparison, but still, if there's anything Kinectimals did right, it was absolutely the fur graphics

This game’s visuals hold up surprisingly well. The animals are so fluffy, and the grass has way better texture then anything Pokemon has released on the switc- /shot
With the exception of that flying weasel's soulless dead eyes.

Ah, Kinectimals! Had that as a child, plushies and all ^^ Collected all of the cats (they were my fav) and was moving on to the bears :) Sucks that someone broke into my house and stole my copy. That and kinect Disneyland. And nothing else.

I like how the motion inputs were *noticeably* more cooperative this time compared to the Star Wars session, almost like RT is wearing a shirt, and general outfit, that doesn't count as camoflauge this time lol. If only Star Wars had gotten this outfit, and this game of all games had gotten the funny camo one lol.

Neatest part is that this game also has easters eggs coming from different games played on the 360.
Example: playing a halo game gives your cub a covenant ghost, y'know the small purple hovercrafts that can splatter a super soldier at mach speed. Yeah sure why not, lets give that to your cub.
You get a Marcus plushie and a crepper glitter bomb.

13:00 So, i actually did have a tiny black kitten that we named Jack, and he used to play fetch with the cat toys. It was the cutest thing ever, he also loved vegetables and hid them behind stuff so we were finding things long after he passed.

My dog had renal kidney failure a year or so ago and there was no recovering from that, so I know how it feels to lose a beloved pet.

My only memory of this game was the fact I quit it a few hours in, and my sister continued playing. Apparently, if you unlock all the areas and such, you can unlock a Saber-tooth Tiger cub. So that was cool.

Since RT has a funny Xbox, I hope we see some more "classic" Xbox games in the future once the Kinect saga is over - personally I think Viva Pinata would go hard, and could honestly get a small series out of it. Game was kinda wild.
