  • This new feature is on the bZ4X, Crown, Grand Highlander, Prius, Prius Prime and will be on more models in the future. The essential function is to leave on the blind spot monitor even when the ignition is off.

I think that it's most useful to keep you from opening the door into bicyclists. Many bicyclists try to ride as far away from other traffic as possible which puts them into the range of car doors opening (some bike lanes are even striped in a way to encourage that). So, SEA is there to assist in preventing that scenario from happening.

Hi Steve. Thanks as always for the information. I was unaware of this feature on my 2023 RAV4 hybrid. I do have another question. Usually I am the driver but when my wife drives the car she has difficulty locating the radio stations she enjoys. Does the RAV4 recognize her as the driver?

Hi steve. How do we turn this off? Every time I turn it off, it comes back in the next time I start my car.

Is this feature new ? Standard on all new Rav4 or certain models?
