people are literally so creative with these shell challenges bc I literally furnish one bedroom and am already exhausted

god yes, i had this "great" ideas and then i do the shell and im so overwhelm by the idea of furnish it i straight up give up and download something from the gallery

I want to see what the community would do with a shell that's just a square. A one story square. Gracefully decorating a shape with complicated nooks is hard. Making a boring and unflattering square look good is much much harder.
Kind of the opposite challenge. I love that idea!

My house is made up of a bunch of rectangular and square rooms, no interesting corners or little nooks, very boring. Very hard to decorate. :')
I feel like platforms and half walls would HAVE to be allowed

I noticed that too but she also does sometimes repeat herself, he lives with her so it could be easy for him to miss it, either way it adds to the charm and personality of Kayla/Lilsimsie.

Dan doesn't strike me as sloppy, I doubt he doesn't realize. He would certainly not repeatedly "not realize" 😄 Kayla repeats herself on stream too...like start a sentence twice. The editing probably started as a joke from his side and now it just became a beloved meme.

@@witchecheveria9417 Thanks! Once I'd finished building I moved in a sim, and then from live mode you're able to click on a light and press "set colour and intensity" which then you can mess around with the lighting from there! :)

@@island3522 yes I did!! & it was actually my first terrain build so it wasn’t super easy but it took about 12 hours to build, lol😅
I just used the rocks in the build catalogue to cover the terrain and then loooooots of trees😂❄️

Ever since I found out I was pregnant and have been having horrible morning sickness I haven't been able to actively watch anything without being in pain but today is the first day I woke up feeling amazing and it feels good to watch a Simsie video pain free I'm so happy rn.

Oh man, I'm downloading all of these. I love all the covered balconies particularly - if you have Seasons, a covered balcony is your best friend, because you can put plants under those roofs to keep them active out of season (dragon fruit plants are the best way to get rich in my mind), or you can fit those bulky items that look weird just sitting on your lawn. I keep having Sims that need a fabricator, but nowhere to put them.
Mine was an old historic house, it took me about a week to finish (I worked on it about 2 hours a day) I'm a slow builder... I thought mine looked pretty good but scrolling through the gallery under the big mistake hashtag made me think otherwise. Some people are just so creative and have such incredible skills.
Hey, don't bring yourself down! Just because others are good doesn't mean you're not good too! I can tell how much hard work you put into it so honestly, good job 💗 and if you want to, feel free to share your gallery name so we can all have a look :)

Almost these houses have Edith Finch vibes, I love the detail. Im a big clutter fan, especially the bathroom cluter available

Keep at it and one day you'll reach a point where you can look at your own builds and say yeah, I'm as good as that as well.
9:06 this build is perfect for my current household! I’ve been struggling to find a house that works for them (because i can’t build) and this is so perfect!!
can we appreciate how kayla puts these lots on their respective worlds? she actually puts time into these videos: looking through the lots, placing them down and waiting thru those loading screens
I’m sure you could do those type of builds too, if you were not living from being a Simmer. You cannot possibly take two weeks or more to build such detailed builds even on Twitch to then edit in a speed build, it’s too many footage. You stream everyday, you post everyday on youtube too. I know Dan edits your video but com’on, we all know the implications such detailed builds imply on a personal level, and we’d never ask that of you because that’s not what you are about nor what we like about your builds. It’s fun once in a while to see the creativity of others but don’t let it be a source of belittling you please, :) we do like what you do, in your style, in your way, and you don’t need to prove to us you’re an exceptional builder or simmer, because what we like about you is that you’re relatable and just like us :) and you help us improve also our building skills. You’re more of a mentor or teacher in that way :) so keeping it real is necessary. You go so far as not use Mods in your builds for us and that means and says a lot about you and your work! Thank you Simsie, I probably don’t tell you enough because I comment rarely, but thank you.
I used this shell challenge as my first one, and I really underestimated how difficult it would be - purely because of how stairs and ladders sit on diagonal lots 😂
It was a fun challenge though, and I'm excited for the next one
That run down industrial nightclub thing will fit SO WELL in the werewolf pack world!!!!

some of the base game builds have me absolutely amazed?! i mean they all have me amazed. like WOW. i love how literally everyone is so different!!
Can we talk about how stunning all the galary images are? The quartered viewpoint is sooooooo much prettier than the standard head on. It really makes me wish that we could take our own galary pictures to include with the posting.
I really wish we could take our own gallery photos too. Every time I post I am like "its missing the cool part!"

Lol i just spent several hours building a snowy escape vacation house for my big family yesterday - if I had waited one day I could of just downloaded this better one lol.

I did the shell Dan build for you recently just for fun. Most of the times, I do shell challenges just for fun and it is always a thing between crying and enjoying things. Roofing is sometimes so freaking hard :D
other than being amazed by how cool their builds are... i am just speechless by how much patience they have to be able to build such incredible builds
(esp those who played with terrain and bigger lots). i admire those who have that much patience !!

The fact we had fairies in Sims 3 makes me pray for it in Sims 4. Like the glowing wings were amazing and just think of what they could do! Dragonfly, moth, butterfly or some unique ones?? Like it could be so cute!!! Pair it with a unique running animation where they quickly fly with their feet just a bit off the ground?!
It was a super fun one to do, keep up with the tricky ones they are the best!

the more of your shell build/get rich quick videos i watch on this channel, the more i fall in love with Stanley Humphey and wish he had a brother named SHELLdon Humphrey in a similarly epic outfit who could be the sim you use to tour shell builds. i feel like if you did this that your live chat community would have OPINIONS on the outfit which would guarantee an epic brother for Stanley if their opinions were considered in his creation.

I actually built this before the werewolf pack trailer dropped, but I can see it fitting into the aesthetics of the new world! glad you think it looks cool 🥺❤️
Speaking of pets, would it be cool if they got a “rescue” pack. Where you can visit shelters and adopt pets. The difference is you don’t play the animals. This way you have to really get to know your pet and you can create more sims.

I loved and hated this shell, mine isn't in the video but I made it and apartment complex so the stairs were outside and it saved me so much space, specially for the last one hahahha

I'm very talented imitating the buildings by only seeing the exterior form , but I'm just incapable to create such exuberant buildings by only using a shell as an epicentre of construction.
