    Man, I'm so glad to see your upload today, so thank you! We're currently finishing up a deal on a 24 Forest River Wildwood Heritage 369bl, and I requested a Shocker, but the dealer insisted they had no supplier. It's called the internet, but I digress. They had their resident rv expert share his experience with the Gen-Y, and we ended up purchasing it. You helped ease my old school mind sir.

      Trust me. You will love it! It’s a little stiff the first 500 miles or so during the break in period but after that it’s smooth as butter. Thanks for following along with us and congrats on the new rig!

    We LOVE!!! out GEN-Y. It's really the only reason we were able to get a 5th wheel. We the truck bed to haul gear for work and with the gooseneck and the puck system in the back of out RAM, I can have that truck bed back in no time!

    So is the gooseneck during backing in pivoting on the ball? If so you need a long bed so when you get those tight 90 deg turn, you don’t hit the truck. Right? I have a 6’7” bed (short). So I have a Curt 5th wheel hitch that you have a wedge installed at the 5th wheel jaws of the hitch and you take out the back bolts and now when backing in, I can turn 90 degrees because it pivots under nose of the trailer and not at the hitch. Can that Gen-Y goose neck do that?

    • @campinwiththeconfers
      @campinwiththeconfers  Před 2 měsíci

      Great question! We used the same system when we had our short bed. Short answer is no, the Gen-Y will not do that but there is a ball re-locator kit that will move your pivot point back so you can get a tighter angle. But with that said, we try to never turn that sharp. 90 degrees is HARD on your axels, suspension parts, and the side walls of your tires. I will do a 3 or 4 point turn if I have to to keep the angle lower.

  • @BobBob-dx5jx
    @BobBob-dx5jx Před měsícem +1

    What about the torsion flex on your fifth wheel frame? This pin box does nothing to reduce the torsion and lateral stress that a goose neck give to the frame…..the test that Gen-Y did, was not addressing this type of stress that will crack your frame…..

  • @RamblinRoadies
    @RamblinRoadies Před 2 měsíci

    With your truck at a 90 with the trailer, do you have good clearance with the pinbox to the side rails of the truck?

    • @campinwiththeconfers
      @campinwiththeconfers  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Short answer, Yes, we have plenty of room for the pin box to go to 90 degrees. Longer answer, I am always leery about flexing the axels at that tight of an angle. We do our best to do a 2,3, or even a 4 point turn if we have to so we don't put that much stress on the axels and sidewalls of the tires. Thanks for the question and for following along with us!!
