Hey everyone! In this week's video we say goodbye to friends we've been traveling with, do a little truck maintenance and give our thoughts on towing with our GEN-Y Executive Gooseneck hitch for the last 3 years and over 30k miles. Nice, we like our goose neck pulling our Momentum toy hauler.

We have found the ride is pretty smooth and are very happy with this choice.

Total noob to RVing here. Buying a Brinkley 3950 with a F450 on order as the tow vehicle. The one thing I’ve not been able to rationalize one way or another is the hitch. Spoke to Ford about their opinion and spoke to Brinkley about whether the GenY gooseneck or GenY 5th is ‘better’. No one has a clear opinion one way or another. You’re mentioning all the various tows and hitches you’ve used before at least gave me a frame of reference in your opinion on a gooseneck. Obviously, I’ve got zero personal frame of reference never having towed much more than a dump trailer. I’ve only heard that the geometry of goosenecks add an extra stress point of potential failure when compared to the seemingly more direct connection of a 5th wheel hitch. But after watching your in-bed videos of the hitch / trailer in motion I’m not seeing much stress happening. So, your video is probably going to be the best I’m gonna get as far as an experienced assessment of that important piece of equipment. I appreciate your vid for that reason. Thanks for sharing.

My wife and I are going to be full timers next year. Not yet settled on which 5th wheel yet. We've narrowed it down to Brinkley or Alliance. However we will be towing with a 450. I think the one huge difference is with a gooseneck you will have so much more bed space to yourself as opposed to having a clunky 5th wheel receiver. Just one mans opinion. :-)

I’ve had mine since 2020 on our New Horizon Majestic . We had to talk to GenY to get the right weight. I think we have a 4500-6500 weight range . Our dry weight is 21500 and gross 26500 . We normally travel around 24000 . Love ours , at the time they didn’t make a autolatch in our weight range . Love having to bed free .

Thank you for posting this I'm working on a purchase of a 5th wheel for the first time and love the idea of the goose neck. One question if you would not mind, this unit vs other does not cause any trailer sway? Or is that just a non factor with a 5th wheel, I have a pull behind currently and am not happy with it. Thanks! Have a great day.

Were the chains not secured to the truck bed in the last clip?

We're GEN-Y and long bed GM but you have room to get behind your tailgate. Ours is about 2" from coach, requires straight on backing up. I wonder what could be different about our trucks. '21 3500 srw.

We have the multi pro tailgate, that works great for hooking up any hitch in the bed and gives extra room. If you have that also, maybe we just have a longer overhang on our fifth wheel?

It has to be the different trailer.
      See you down the road!
