    I carry an assortment of different suze bolts with the heads cut off and a slot for a screwdiver to line things like. Plus it keeps the weight off it to. Good job there, keep it up.

    If you know this please disregard it. I’m sure not trying to tell you your business. Those Denso starters are the best units made. 99.9%of the time when they fail it’s a fast & simple repair. You can pull the three bolts that hold the plate on the starter and you’ll find the two contacts & plunger inside. One contact will be worn through. I have a kit from a company that contains every style contact that Denso uses and new plungers. The plunger doesn’t have to be replaced. It takes about five minutes to replace the contacts and have the machine up and running. As you know, Denso starters are found on everything from Toyota’s to Deere equipment. I was a Toyota mechanic for 30 years and I think I’ve only had to replace one or two whole Denso starters in that time. Hell, I’ve got one old Toyota truck with 650,000 miles that still has the original starter on it. Not sure how many contacts it’s had though.
    Thanks for the video and you’re right about Commiefornia. There are countless commercial drivers who will no longer cross in that Regime because of the ridiculous regulations.

    Thanks for another excellent video Warren, certainly enjoying the tractor repair videos as I like them, I'm not expecting anyone agreeing with me but in my opinion a talented mechanic like yourself are the ones that love their dog's, especially when giving them beef jerky for treats some videos ago.

    Just a couple of ideas, my dad taught us to use some grease to hold gaskets on when you are trying to get parts into place, and a brass taper punch makes lining up holes a whole lot easier when dealing g with heavy parts.

    That’s not the first time I have seen you fix a tractor stalling or not starting after sitting because of air getting into the fuel system. You are making this farmer into at least a half assed machanic. Thanks for teaching me so much. I was able to find and fix a bad ground on one of our truck

    Man I'm so thankful for dough ford on that. He got rid of emissions test in Ontario. Because everything new and everything that's been made in the last 20 years is well above the standard anyway.

    What an easy starter. Where was this Mechanic when I changed the the Delco 50 mt. on a KTA Cummins the starter weighs 80 lbs, And is down the frame. It is good to see that there still service techs on the road.

    l wanna offer you a couple of Tips (a) Have a check list of what you need when going on a
    job that way you won't for get any thing , (b) have a divider in your draws so that Metric is on one side , and imperial is on the other , ( may be you will find your reducer socket that you have miss placed) lol , screwdrivers flat on one side and Phillips on the other etc etc , and if you still have the apprentice may be he could do some maintenance on your smaller truck ,the crane and wiring , l Love your work and you make me Laugh a lot to keep it up , l gotta get back to watching the rest of your video's .

    Believe it or not I’ve worked on a few trucks with starting issues that had been repaired at a CAT dealership and had installed 24volt starters in them ! Guess you always need to ck never assume that the dealer is always right lol! Thanks for sharing bud 👍

    that's why cat stopped they felt that adding all of the emission systems would downgrade the performance we all expected and raise the price to an unsuccessful level at least that is what the Cat man told me

      Plus the truck engines were the only ones that needed to be CARB compliant. So, it didn't make economic sense to go to all the design cost for just the truck engines. It was easier to just drop them from the line. Too bad Mr. Trucker!

    JCB is getting popular now days. Never had them to work on so no idea what they are like, I heard they were ahead of other in the same field of work. I sometimes had to use alinement studs to get the pieces to marry or hold flimsy gasket in place while I pinched my fingers. I got phatom pain from that/LOL. Good job done good

    Im glad im not the only mechanic that leaves shit eberwhere i have left many a streamlight under hoods of vehicles and a snap on 3/8 electric impact on the track of a skid steer it was a new low profile model after that one just to name a few!

    All this time I thought you were in eastern Oregon, not that it matters. Sorry that you live close enough to California you have to deal with spillover of their lunacy. I think all that sun and dryness does something to the brain, just take a look at how people act in the Middle East ;).

      @@adamtheheavyequipmentmechanic - I have been retired for almost a year and a half, and even though I hugely miss my work and co-workers, I don't miss the BS. Just finished an R&R job on a Cummins 1999 5.9L injection pump - runs fine now. One needs to remain busy during retirement to avoid an early demise. I don't care to be like too many of our fellow blue-collar workers who just sit around and then end up ground temperature within five years of retirement. Best thoughts to you.

    yes in the day a 390 starter into a 6 cyl ecnoline . fit and really spun that 6 over and the best part the 390 starter was free..

    Hey warren I have watched and learned a lot from your videos over the last couple years, I having an issue with a 2002 7.3 F350 where it sounds normal when I start it cold but when I start it hot there is a tapping or knocking sound. It starts fine hot/cold just has a strange noise. I know your a busy bee but thought maybe I’d ask if you could give a listen to my videos I uploaded on my channel and give me your two cents worth. When reading online I feel there are so many contradicting views, so I thought I’d ask you as I trust and respect your knowledge and opinion. I’d appreciate it if you have the time and if not I understand. Thanks for all your videos and info you pack into them.

      Start with the injectors; #8 is usually the problem, since it's the last in the line and gets low pressure...disconnect, and see if knock goes away

    would it work to cut the hex heads off of a couple of bolts to use as studs so you didnt have to try and hold that rear end part and put in a bolt at the same time, think it would also keep the gasket alined.

    Great work dude had the same kinda shit before come into work with a truck 24v starter in a 12v system guys fuckin relays and switches and all sorts of shit at it and replaced the starter twice with the 24v twice was funny as shit when we said it to the two guys at it how do they expect 24v from one battery

    Is it just me or did that motor take a long time to start. Perhaps the fuel system has a leak and is losing prime causing a long crank time ruining the starter.
