Why shoot wild boar?
Germany has a wild boar problem: millions of animals causing possibly billions of euros of damage to farmland. Happily, they have a system, based on sport hunting and - where sport hunters do not manage numbers effectively - they have to pay reparations to farmers.
Wild boar are omnivorous and approximately 400 species of plants and animals have been reported to be part of their diet. Their habit of rooting through the floor of woodland and pasture leaves a clear indicator of their presence. They take both eggs and nestlings of ground-nesting birds. Damage to agriculture can also be extensive and concerns have been raised regarding collisions with traffic. Boar have no natural predators in Germany part from a handful of wolves, meaning culls are necessary to control population growth.
Wild boar are susceptible to the same diseases as domestic pigs and therefore have the potential to spread infectious disease such as swine fever, foot & mouth and Aujesky’s disease.

First off: I really enjoy the content by Fieldsports Channel and Andy is most definitely a great shooter!
I do have some concerns though, especially with this video being broadcasted as a guide. Both 8:45 the second shot and 10:15 are shots that should not be taken under any circumstances (not even with the first shot wounding the boar, there are professionals to do a follow-up search). With the bullet penetrating and exiting the body of a boar still at very high speeds there is no backdrop to catch it, thus putting other shooters, beaters and dogs in severe danger.
Kind regards from a young hunter from Germany!
Man alive! You're a great man Andy. Love the enthusiasm
Amazing video. I remember watching this 2019 pre season and I was so excited for the opening of the season to try my luck. And if was my best so far. Managed to shoot 5 boar.
I probably watched this video 10 times so far and it brings me joy seeing Andy in his element. Amazing.
Awesome hunt! Great shooting, well done Andy! Greetings from Poland !

@@fieldsportstv Hi Charlie, just wondering do you have business cards that can be downloaded or whatever so I can hand out to people on the shoots or on the clay shooting ground to raise awareness of Fieldsports Britain and the good work you do ...?..cheers David..
We're going to have cards at the British Shooting Show. Are you going to that? / Charlie

Practice on the Range Builds Confidence for Driven Boar Shooting, Well Done

Excellent shooting Andy! Weidmannsheil
game on lft side left down, stupid shots taken.
17.13 dangerous shooting. Never shoot when the game is on the horizon.
🙄
The shoot at 11:40 is perfekt for propaganda for the "anti hunters"!! You DON´T shoot when theres another animal behind the first one due to extreme risk of wounding the other animal!! And you definitly don´t post it on you tube! Otherwise keep up the good work!!
yep. and 10:16 also does not look very safe. Even if someone tells you that you can shoot there YOU are responsible for your shot. and you should only shoot if there is soft ground directly behind the target.
I'going to a driven hunt tomorrow and wish, i had your shooting skills!,
How did the hunt go?
Didn't Andy have a double rifle for wild boar hunting?
On driven boar you need to low down the magnification as much it's possible if you have this kind of vegetation. If you do that, you would double the kill's easy.

15:58 the game is on the wrong side for a strecke or for respect.
Waidgerecht? gibt keine hier.
I'm sorry for but If that should be a learnvideo than you shouldn't do such bad mistake Like Shooting on a group of wildboars that running so close together Like on 10:35 ... You could have woundet the boar behind the Hit one!!! Also you shouldn't Shot against the horizont or thru branches!
