Presenter Hi there, Chevy owners. Today, on your 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install B&W's Turnoverball gooseneck ball kit. And this is what our gooseneck ball looks like when it's installed. We've currently got it in the attachment position where you're ready to hook up to your gooseneck. But you can pull the handle to release your ball here, and you can pull this out and flip it over when you're not gonna haul your trailer to restore full truck bed access here. So you can see with our ball out of the way, this is pretty flush with the bottom of our bed, and our safety chain attachments as well are also pretty flush on the bottom.
So once this is installed, if you've got it in the storage position here, it's almost like not having anything in the back of your bed at all. But when you are ready to use it again and you wanna release your ball, you can flip it over, and then lock it back into place. You can see how easily this ball slides in and out. B&W always does a really good job of having high-quality machining on their components that allows it to slide, so all the components just fit together very well. You can see that it's a square shape on this one, so it's not gonna rotate inside of our mechanism here, and you can put it in any direction you want.
We've got our attachment point here that lines up no matter which way we put it, right side up or upside down. This small handle here on the bottom allows us to easily pull this up when it's in the storage position. We've got a 2 5/16 ball here on top, which is standard for hooking up to our gooseneck trailers. On each side of our ball, we've got our attachment cables, our attachment points for our safety cables here. And they are spring-loaded, so you can pull those up and get 'em hooked on there.
Most of your gooseneck trailers have pretty large attachments on the end of their safety cables, so it's nice how big these are, making it easy to be able to get those latched and unlatched. And being spring-loaded, they make sure they go back down flush on the bottom when we're not using it to, again, help make sure that we've got full truck bed access when we want it. All of the components that come in the kit are gonna be custom-fit for this vehicle, which makes installing the brackets considerably easier than a universal kit. We have to do almost no modifications to our vehicle here in order to get it installed. It actually uses factory weld nuts located on the frame to install most of the hardware.
So that really does simplify the installation quite a bit. B&W's got nice powder coating on all those components to help protect them from rust and corrosion. And they are known for putting it on there pretty thick, so just keep that in mind. That's great for protecting our components, but when we go to install 'em, sometimes that powder coating does get in the way of your bolts a little bit, so you might have to tap a few things through the holes 'cause of the thick powder coating. And some things that are threaded, you might wanna start the bolts beforehand before you lift anything heavy up because that powder coat, again, is thick and it's gonna make it difficult. But again, that's all a good thing. Thick powder coating may seem like it's kind of an issue a couple of times when you're installing it, but in the end, it's gonna ensure that your components last a very long time. And with the high-grade quality of machining in B&W, the little bit of extra powder coat that's on there really doesn't make that big of a difference 'cause compared to Reese and CURT and all the other manufacturers, these still are usually the easiest to install in comparison 'cause their machining quality is just so much better. This hitch features a 7,500-pound vertical load limit, which is the force going down on top of our ball. And it also features a 30,000-pound gross towing capacity, which is how much that you can pull behind it with our ball. And that should be enough for pretty much all your gooseneck trailers out there. I do recommend that you verify in your vehicle's owner's manual to ensure you don't exceed any of its towing capacities. The ball secures inside your center section using a pass-through connector. We can see the cylinder here where it passes through. It's currently in the locked-in position. I'm gonna pull it so you can see it slide out of the way. This will allow you to insert your ball in there. And then, when you release the handle again, it locks it into place with that fixed cylinder. And you can see it's pretty thick. That
