The other thing is why the tires if your just going to have it next to the faucet?
What I wish is a reel that you can hook up to the faucet and drag the reel to where you want it or need it.
The reel should be with skids until you put it away for the season than quickly install the wheels. I hope you understand where I am coming from.
We’ll if I need to push the reel back into the garage the tires are a nice feature. And I couldn’t find a unit that didn’t require mounting that fit my criteria!
I'm just down the road from you in the Syracuse area and am also shopping for a solid, durable hose reel. Watched your video and have a question/concern, although it may be a little too early since your cart is only a year old. Have you had any issues with the belt yet? I can't tell what it is made of from the video. Depending on the material, I'm concerned that it will be a weak link in what, otherwise, appears to be a very solid unit. If and when it fails, do they offer a replacement? Thanks for the great video.
Hey Hog! Cool that you’re not far away! This is a solid unit. Mostly metal. Had for two seasons now. No rust or corrosion. Stays out 3 out of 4 seasons. No complaints about it. They do have a two year warranty. 👍 thanks for watching
Hey JB, highly considering getting this reel this season. Only thing is I really want to use a 3/4” hose to maximize pressure/volume for my 12k sqft backyard. Do you think I can connect a 3/4” hose even though it’s marketed for 5/8”?
Hey my friend! You should be able to! The coupler on the ends is 3/4. Where the hose connects to the unit is a 5/8 diameter pipe I believe so you’ll have a restriction there.
@@GarageGear woah thanks for getting back so quick!
@@GRASShole21 you got it my friend I try hard to get back to comments within 24 hours
Come on! That’s usually me trying to put something together. That’s one great hose real JB! I have that same problem with winding and unwinding the hose. Especially winding it back up. This is definitely a must have. Now if I can only get you to assemble it? Haha. Cheers neighbor! Enjoy the hot and windy weather..
Haha! There’s always a mishap or two with every video! This thing fell completely off the workbench lol! Cheers my friend! Looks like some much needed rain today! The rain earlier this week gave the lawn a big boost! Hopefully you’re greening up a little too! Enjoy the day my friend!
@@GarageGear I haven't been watering to much. With the price of ethanol gas, I'll save some money on cutting the lawn. Have a great day!
@@jaybooth4815 not a bad idea to cut costs here and there with the way things are nowadays!
@@GarageGear especially when it's a John deere tractor.
@@jaybooth4815 oh yeah definitely
Good job. Also gave you a well deserved thumbs up.👍
Appreciate it Felix YOU ROCK! 👍
JB - I have had this bad boy for over 4 years holding my 200ft of that premium Sears black rubber hose. It has been the only one to handle premium heavy duty hoses I have found. It's great that we think alike! Stay cool buddy!!!
Very cool Vincent! This reel is a reel tank lol! Glad to see we are getting some rain now too! Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friend!
Last year I bought the Gorilla hose real that I like a lot, but the Giraffe looks great too! And I am in Tonawanda, so nice to see a locally-based CZcams channel. Go Bills!
Gorilla makes great products as well. Awesome that you’re so close! Always cool to hear from local fans of the Channel! Thanks for watching getcookingnow! Go Bills!
I"m confused about these hose reel carts with wheels. You're limited to moving it just a few feet because of the spigot to cart hose, but even if you bought a longer hose for that, why move the reel? You're outside needing the hose not a hose reel. If I need hose to the far end of my yard, I pull more hose. It's easier to pull more hose than move a reel around and THEN pull more hose. What am I missing? I'm comparing these wheeled carts to a reel that's designed to remain stationary by the spigot, btw.
I guess it depends on your needs. Mine stays parked in place. But some people move them around their yards and having the wheel is necessary. Thanks for watching!
Good design, solid and durable
Definitely durable! I think my only concern with it is the rubber belt! It’s pretty thin so we’ll see how long it holds up! Thanks for watching bud!
Assembly tip - spray "Internal Frame Coating" (auto body supply) inside all the Tubes before assembly. Seals metal on the inside to prevent Rusting.
Great tip BV! Thanks for sharing!
You might not want to water your grass or garden during the time the sun is out. Great way to make your grass burn-looking. Thank you for the review on the water hose storage unit.
Thanks for watching hulk
That looks like a great reel. I especially like the guide to help evenly roll the hose. Thank you!
Definitely a nice feature Randal! Any weekend plans my friend?
@@GarageGear Too hot to do do much. Just maintenance on my riding mower this weekend.
@@randalmorris2076 have fun my friend!
Thanks for showing the assembly- I was stuck and the written instructions were no help. Your video saved my sanity!
Awesome Rebecca! Glad you found this video helpful! Thanks for watching!
Nice upgrade! It would be nice to have a link to the products... Im lazy! 😂
Hey FLINT! I linked this bad boy in the description for you but I’ll put a link here in the comments too because you’re awesome! 👍amzn.to/3b3nMcZ
@@GarageGear Oh, I didn't realize. And thank you!
Loved the blooper
Haha it was hilarious because one little pin snap made it fall to the ground! Thanks for watching my friend! 👍
I have this hose reel or one very similar with 100" of 5/8" water hose. It's about 12 years old (Lowes) and has never failed me, tires are getting tired and need to be pumped up from time to time but other than that good product.
Thanks for sharing
I guarantee the quality of the one you bought 12 years ago is vastly different from the one in this video.
That’s a nice reel.. looks like quality and great design …. Might have to buy one
Works well for me and my yard! Thanks for watching!
Please take your reel and turn upside down and drill at least 4 holes in the bottom so when it freezes it will not destroy your reel.
You will say but there's no way for water to get down there but condensation and even rain water will find a way inside.
Proof is take an empty milk jug and set it out in the sun with the cap loose and let it set for a week both day and night and see what happens.
I’ll be bringing it inside for the winter months! Good idea though!
@@GarageGear you will pay for it. I did and still blew a hole in the frame. Oh well time is a mean teacher. I have been slapped to many times.
thanks
Thanks for watching
I like it. That just might have to be my next hose reel.
So far it has definitely saved me some time and aggravation watering my lawn. Working out great so far! 👍
I'm wondering if it's difficult to find replacements for the belts?
Hey Dark! Not exactly sure! But I’m sure you can contact the company for replacement parts if needed! Thanks for watching!
Great video. Looks like a sturdy device. I have that same plastic Suncast hose reel and don't like it for the same reasons you demonstrated. Btw, did you wind the plumber's tape in the correct direction?
Hey King! Thanks for the positive feedback! 🤷♂️we’ll find out! Sometime I wind the tape in the correct direction… sometimes I don’t… time will tell lol! Thanks for watching! 👍
Awesome video! Not sure why I’m not featured on your chalkboard though 🧐. Good stuff as always JB!
I’ll talk to my supervisor about you and the whiteboard. I’ll see what I can do! 👍
I like the guide when you reel it up, that thing looks "reely" nice 😉
It’s a reelly nice Reel! Watering your lawn like a fiend lately?
@@GarageGear surprisingly no! We have gotten several inches of rain the last few weeks, it's been nice!
@@TheLawnLover ah man lucky you! We’ve been on the rebound last few days so I’m anticipating a green up here!
Ok were do I get one please
Hey John here’s a link amzn.to/3O9b4uo thanks for watching!
Prayers for Scott.
Hey JS! Did I miss something? Who is Scott that you’re referring to?
@@GarageGear my bad! I gotta stop with TOO MANY good CZcamsrs on Saturday morning,😂 sorry bout that
I follow a great concrete team as well, Victory Outdoors.
Scott is an employee at the coffee stop Ryan stops at daily and he’s been out sick.
Again , sorry.
@@js12278 no worries my friend! Prayers for Scott though!
You put the plumbers tape on the wrong way.
🤷♂️still worked! I make that mistake a lot lol
@@GarageGear Pretend you are screwing on the plumbers tape to get it on the correct way.
JB I typically watch your channel for lawn stuff but I just wanted to say I appreciate your review of this. Thanks for your content man
Awesome atg! Appreciate you being a cool fan of the channel! 👍
Eley is the best 👌 I use expandable hoses now I'm done lugging heavy ass hoses and hose reels around
Thanks for sharing Shane!
Im impressed, Traverse is the best for an even wind up...Honored to see my name, Pretty cool
Thanks for leaving a cool comment a little while back Cliff! Appreciate you being a cool fan! 👍
Great video - couldn't have assembled this without it. The written instructions that came with the cart were pretty useless.
Thanks for watching
What does Garage Gal think of you hanging out with all those hose, JB?? 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome vid, man. That cart is built like a tank. 👍
She told me to get all them hose in line lol! Sure is! I’m super pumped that I have good water pressure again! A lot more power coming from that sprinkler! Enjoy the rest of your weekend bud! 👍
Lawn looking a little dry there JB. Are you under water restrictions too?
Haha just little to no rain! We got about an inch since I last filmed this video and now things are starting to green up! This time of year I let the lawn decide what’s going on! If it’s too hot with no rain I just let it go but still do weekly watering! Of at least an inch. But if we get some rain and the lawn hangs on I’ll push it a little to keep it green! Hope you’re getting some rain as well!
Here in Colorado we hope for rain in one hand and 💩in the other...guess which hand fills up first?
@@423co hahaha from what you have been telling me lately I think I can figure it out lol! 👍
Looks like a little too much work putting it together
It didn’t take too long and it wasn’t hard. Took about 15 min. Thanks for watching.
What's the point in having a hose cart, but the hose coming from the house to the cart is 6-8 feet long and you can't "cart" the hose anywhere.
This reel is designed to be transported once and a while. You could get a longer attachment hose though. Thanks for watching
cool hose reel, how do I get my name on the whiteboard?
All cool commenters get their name up there at some point! Even you Will! Thanks for watching and enjoy your weekend! 👍
@@GarageGear thanks
Sounds like a commercial. How objective is the reviewer?
Thanks for watching
I know it's been a year but the darn thing is no longer available on Amazon and it's sold out on the GT website. Oh well.
@@waynenewman9070 thanks for sharing Wayne!
I hate that they use plastic for the hose guide and the sprocket/gears. I can only imagine it’ll eventually break.
Time will tell. No issues with mine so far! Thanks for watching
Looks it will crack in a years time!😮 Winter climate -25F and Summer temperature of 120F.😂
Thanks for watching
Dunn deal.. 🫣🤪. How do you feel that rubber gear driver will hold?
Hey Gary!!! Should hold for a bit. It’s got this plastic-like coating on it! I think this may be the weak link though. If you really want to make this industrial slap a chain drive on it! 👍
