    I bought the 82 ft one 2 years ago as well. We use it every day and it still works like new. At the end of the season I drain as much water as I can out of it and store it in the basement so there's no damage from freezing. This year I will probably use a compressor to fully get the water out of it and store it in the shed.

    Dear Silver Cymbal, I've had the HoseLink for two months now and we love it. Before HoseLink, ff we wanted to hose something off, it was a big deal. Get out the 50' hose, hook it up, connect the nozzle, use the hose, disconnect the hose and nozzle, drain the hose and hang it back up. My wife avoided it. Now, grab the hose pull it out into the drive, use the hose, give it a tug, let it wind up and done. Effortless. Its a keeper. Thanks for the into.

Ending up buying a third to get to garden on far side of my property, connecting to another hoselink. Lose some pressure because of the distance but still a fantastic solution. When I rewind (similar type reel), I loosely hold a rag around the hose at any point where the hose can keep off the ground and let it rip to clean off the debris and grass clippings a wet hose usually picks up. Keeps that wind up stuff clean and working without jamming or slowing down for years.

    Based on your recommendation I bought a HoseLink to install in my garage to reach out into the driveway for washing cars and the like. I got it installed today and as soon as I pressurized the unit water started spraying out of the unit on the hose inlet side. I removed the side panel and a white fitting looked like it extruded an O-ring. I have to admit I was pissed at the time. I came in and emailed their support staff with a picture and a description of the problem. Within 30 minutes I received a response with an apology and a diagnosis that the fitting was broken and not easily repaired so they were going to send me a new one. I just received a notice from UPS that my replacement will be here tomorrow. I understand that mistakes happen so support is key and you just don't get any better than this. Kudos to HoseLink and I am really looking forward to using it. It looks great, by the way.

    I got this about 2 years ago as well after your first video. This year the thumb switch on the sprayer snapped in half. Recoiling the hose takes some work, I find draining the water and pulling it fully out then recoiling it as the water empties from the hose will allow it to fully coil again. Wasps like to enter the bottom and build nests inside and you would need to open it completely to remove them as there is no easy way to access it. Some discoloration has happened from being in full sun as well. I do drain and remove it during winter. With those minor issues though it still works great and I’ve heard neighbors walking by admiring how cool it is.

    I bought 2 of these in April of this year after doing research and largely due to your previous review, I do think they are made well amd good quality but on one of them, I keep having issues where it doesn't retract all the way in, it gets stuck with about a foot left and it drives me nuts. I have to pull the hose pretty far out and then slowly guide back in and still often it still gets hung up at the same place. Usually after a few attempts it goes in but man it drives me crazy. Oh well, that is life. Thanks for making great videos. I always learn so much!

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Thank you, the only time I have ever seen that issue is when I am only pulling say 5 or 6 feet out. However as long as it's more than that it will work well, it's not a bad idea to exercise the Spring a bit to its full length. You certainly shouldn't to spend any amount of time maintaining this and I would say to contact them for warranty if you feel its not right, they are a nice company to deal with so definitely be sure you are happy with the purchase.

    I installed a couple of these type of hose reels for someone years ago. I forget the brand. They both failed very quickly. I opened one up to see what was going on and if it could be fixed. I found a few solid plastic connectors that hose pushed onto but the connectors were not barbed nor had clamps on. Such a simple oversight that caused them to leak and fail.

      Yes both ends of the hose have a standard garden thread fitting on them. You dont have to use their quick disconnects at all if you don't want, and you aren't locked into a special fitting size. If you extend the reel end to end its a normal male-female hose on each side
