Can I Fix This??? 1936 GMC Windshield Wipers

In this video I try to fix the vacuum wiper motor on my 1936 GMC hotrod truck. I have never worked on one of these vacuum operated windshield wiper motors. I use parts from four other motors and try to see why these are notorious for not working well.

You can't say you didn't try to fix it & don't know if you can fix it until you try. Thank you for the education in how vacuum wiper mechanism do or don't work.

Yeah it was fun to mess with but wish it would work after all that time. Maybe I’ll try a thinner gasket. Airs leaking out but hard to tell when engine is running it’s noisy

I've seen some old ones that had a crank similar to a camper window crank handle. Not sure if it was a backup or what.

Yeah if I we’re going to keep it I’d do electric or hand crank
