How To Make An Eczema & Pain Cream With Hemp Seed Oil (DIY Eczema Cream)

- Hello everyone! In this week's video I show you how to make a beautiful spreadable cream made specifically for eczema, pain and inflammation. This is a spin off of my "What a Relief" solid lotion recipe, that I shared with you in February of 2020! This cream is made with an infusion of arnica and calendula flowers and extracts as well as hemp seed oil to really combat itching, redness and pain. My solid lotion version of this recipe is very popular and is a very popular item on my website, so I wanted to create something like it in a thick cream version and the results are amazing! Do you mind explaining why you chose not to include a preservative with this high of a water amount?
There is a preservative in this formula, I used optiphen.

This recipe looks amazing, thank you for sharing. I made it today and used it on myself for dry skin. It feels wonderful, creamy and fluffy. Love the texture. One question my grandson has eczema extremely bad. How often should he apply the cream?
I already infused calendula flower in olive oil, can I just use that oil instead of putting the calendula petals in the help oil?

Hi Cory, I have a question. I'm making this cream for pain, my husband suffers from muscle pain. Can I add menthol crystals to this recipe.? I think that this is more for eczema than pain. I could be wrong.
Ivon, I make a cream with menthol crystals but you need to dissolve them in 91% rubbing alcohol or you can dissolve in oil, it takes a little longer. Be sure you are adding as part of your water phase or oil phase. Be sure to wear gloves as it can burn your hands and a small amount like a tablespoon is strong enough. Be sure to use some cooling oils and butters to help it soak in. Good luck. I am sure anything else you need, Cory is very good with her formulating.

Hi, you can get it from makingcosmerics.com or you can use any emulsifier you have on hand
What substitute to calendula extracts?
You can try any water soluble extract to replace it. However, you will have to test it because if the PH is too low, it will make the gel go flat.

Looks amazing! FYI...Calendula is not the same as marigolds. It has totally different properties. I grow them. I made the mistake years ago also. I love your channel and just signed up as a Patreon. ❤️

Do you grow both or just one of them? Otherwise, I will say it's just as the other.
Julie, Calendula is a species of marigolds. They are usually darker and bigger than the regular marigolds, but since I have been using and making products for over 7 years I have a good grasp on what species and flower group they grow in. You are however correct that they are not your every day run of the mill marigolds. The ones Cory has used are organic and dried and sold by the best sellers in America. I buy mine the same way. The only ones I grow are SJW.(hypericum).

Yes, you can say something like, "this cream is used for..." or "the ingredients in this cream are known for..." You just can't say "this cream heals eczema"

This particular recipe may do that in hot months. If you switch the emulsifier to regular ewax it would probably hold up better in the heat
Love the recipe 💖 but I'm allergic to beeswax. Can I substitute it for calendula wax?
Yes, you can or any other wax you like.

thank you! Yes, they can, but I would wait until it thickens up a little but is still pourable. This way if you need to stick blend again, you can.
