+89DrFunk Updates are vital to the health of your system. Most of those updates are security updates, and the more you put them off, the more vulnerable you are. Also, the OS X limits what you can do.
+Psycho Dad Thanks man! I keep up with the updates all the time including the virus updates. I may just use both and go from there. I love Apple video and audio platform.
I like the UI apple uses for OS X and iOS, it's very sleek. However, it's very expensive so I don't think I plan on owning an Apple product besides my iPad.
+Psycho Hmmm, you just need to try it, i know you are used to windows, i was too, but once switching to my Macbook pro i never looked back. I made the switch in 2009, i had my Macbook pro with a 27" Apple cinema led display hooked up to it. And next to that i had my computer (that i build myself) and it was a sweet machine, it really was. But for one reason (and i don't knew why at the time) i began to use my Macbook pro more then my desktop pc that i build myself, i had no crashes, no faulty drivers, and all these things that comes with windows.
The one thing i miss i (building the computer). I really liked doing that, so i still might do a windows pc in the future. but believe, try a Macbook pro to start with. And see if you like it in your daily workflow :-)

I just ordered the 2015 5k iMac and can't wait for it! I needed a new computer to edit my supercar videos, and up to now I was using my aluminum MacBook, from 2008 I believe.

Ahh, the display and design is awesome ... otherwise I don't think so, but if you can easily afford the iMac buy it.
+GameCaptain i just bought mine yesterday and i can say the display itself justifies the price! if you're a photographer or video editor then this is an incredible machine for you. sucks that my internet connection cant even load 4k videos right now, so if youre only buying this for day to day use and internet browsing then do note that even 1080p video looks meh in fullscreen.

You have 2 weeks to return apple products. People do the unboxing and the geekbench stuff and then box it up and get their cash back. Their refurbished line is almost all returns.
+Phone Tard Very few people (as individual consumers, not a part of a company) can actually afford to buy Retina iMacs for personal use. Reviewers either get them for free or they sell/return them after filming a review.
+ShutterBucks Photography I just think it's rude to buy Imacs, Macbooks and stuff in a world where many people can't even afford running water or electricity. But I'm not judging, great if you got one.

TheAdrianGarza Yes it is. Macbooks Cost $2000-2500 retail and an iMac 5k cost $1800-2000 retail.
In fact if you shop at Amazon they sell the 5K Mac for $1500-1600 and the MacBook Pro for $1800-2200. We're talking about the 15inch version not that puny 13 inch one.

I'm a PC guy but I love watching apple unboxings. It's so legit looking. The way everything is packaged and the look of the product. Macs might be expensive but there quality and your paying for that. I love how everything is aluminum too. I can imagine the fresh computer smell it must have as you break the seal of the box. :D I would like to own a Mac but that's a lot of money and I probably wouldn't know how to use it
I have a Macbook pro for my dailly use it's really great!! But I also like to game and to be honest a windows desktop is way better! Luckily my uncle works with pc's so He gave me a gaming pc but To compare a Laptop or a Macbook It just depends what you like windows or OSX but my opinion is that they both are really good (y)

+dufrhd5 Keep them as backups, if for some reason the current ram you have breaks, and was not put in by the manufacturer, then change it to the ram you had before.

I love my PC and the gaming i can do on it but damn thats a gorgeous computer!

I have this Mac and in my opinion it's the best one ever made!
Thanks so much for a great review. So glad to see the 27” I-Mac can have more ram added to it. I just returned from visiting 2 Apple stores, in Fair Oaks VA and Tysons VA, both stores told me the 27” I-mac could not have additional RAM added to it. When I showed one of these geniuses the online manual that shows how its done, he told me that if I do this my warranty will be voided.
I Have an old mac and want to upgrade, but am very afraid of staying with a product that the manufacturers employees who are supposed to be experts don’t know a thing.
Guess it’s going to be another Amazon purchase,,,,, or God forbid, I go back to a Windows PC.

I gotta say, Im not an apple fan but I do love their computers. I've always wanted a imac computer but after seeing the Microsoft studio I might change my mind.
I'm probably looking to pull the trigger on one of these through B&H, actually. Seems that might be one of the better places outside of Apple themselves to get one of these.
I ordered the same... can't wait ;) Two differences : I took the 512 Gb SSD and I will add only 16 Gb of ram for a total of 24 Gb.
