- Has this ever happened to you?
One day, life seems to be going great and everything seems to be progressing well.
But the next day, you wake up with no motivation whatsoever and you suddenly feel stuck.
Just going through your daily routine is a struggle and it feels like a chore. And to make matters worse, you beat yourself up for not being as productive as you'd like to be.
What happened is you've entered a mental rut.
It's basically a state of mind where you feel stuck, purposeless and you're unable to motivate yourself.
And doing anything that day can be difficult.
Days like these will come unexpectedly, seemingly out of nowhere, and can last for days or even weeks.
In today's video I'll talk about how to get out of this state.

1. Allow yourself to take a break, it will keep your productivity up and prevent burnout.
2. Exercise
3. Have a balanced diet, eat nutritious food and stay hydrated.
4. Get enough sleep, typically 7-9 hours
5. Go outside occasionally and surround yourself in nature
6. Switch up your routine, do something differently, to give yourself something to look forward to
7. Write down your goals and aim for them
8. Start small and build up your productivity from there
9. This too shall pass, wait for the good times that will come!
Thank you MVP🙏🏾
Thankyou
thank you
I would suggest quitting caffeine too. Quitting has many benefits including more energy, better mood and better sleep.
Nas Jib thanks you

Whoever is making these videos is a really nice person and helps a lot! God bless you!💐
I learned the hard way that doing the same thing day after day and expecting different results ultimately will drive you insane. I wish these self help videos were around back in my 20s because at the time I had absolutely no guidance in this crazy game we call life.
your thoughts resonate mine. I too felt the same after having my share of journey .With this same thought I started my channel on protecting our mental health in everyday life.(not writing this comment trying to promote here). good luck
look at the definition of insanity
@@VOID-nq4oq I was gonna say the same thing "Insanity is no more than doing the same thing over and over and expect different results"
as a single mom son..i wish i had something my whole life,.....its sad thinking how other people dont even think about other people. or try understand what u went trough...it would be so much easier
Back then we called it a "library"
An instant fix I've found is to clean. Your car, your room, the kitchen, etc, just find something and do a deep clean. It calms down your panic mode, gets you out of any stimulation manic episode, and gets your body moving.
Absolutely true. The hard part isn't even the act of cleaning. It's the "getting up" which is the hard part. So, if that happens to you, break it down to the first tiny little thing that you can do. Like.. fill up the dishwasher or empty it. Don't think about cleaning the entire kitchen, just do the smallest thing that you can do - something that takes only a minute. Once you're in, you're in.
Yes; it does all that you say, AND has to be done anyway. If you are anxious, living in a mess seems to make it worse, I find.
While I’m cleaning, I pull out anything I need for a particular task and keep it together in one spot, so when I eventually start tackling the job, I don’t have to use time and energy finding everything I will be using. Doing this means I actually feel that I’m one step closer to finishing it.
Oh my GOSH I hate to clean SO MUCH! But sometimes it really does work to just let yourself get really manic about it... problem is if I don't get it totally "done" I'm angry at myself for not finishing and then sad it still looks so bad + I have so much to do still... it's a catch 22 situation at my house LOL
My problem is I can’t be arsed to get up to clean
"You can't expect to be happy if you're in a box all day. You need sunshine, fresh air and nature." Hard to get some fresh air when in the middle of a pandemic. I've been 3 weeks inside and I thought I had my routine sorted, but now I feel stuck and don't really know what to do.
I was totally being unproductive for the past few days. Maybe I shall be able to come out of it after watching this video. May God bless you for trying to uplift people❤
I was able to get by in my darkest hours in the past years through these videos. I just noticed that it has been a long time since your last upload. I hope you're doing well. I missed your videos so I'm rewatching it again. I hope to hear from this channel again someday if not soon.
There is a new video 12 days ago! Welcome back Channel Owner!
I was crying on the train. And then this. 🙏🙏🙏
がんばれよ
These are like treasures my friend, we should be grateful, I also kicked out of depression and unproductivity and started buliding some habits thanks to these videos, they are really simple and comprehensive and I just love it !
I'm there now. Two days, I am in a rut, and today is the third day. I did some exercise while watching. Usually not difficult to exercise, but this rut is different. Apathetic about everything. Well, wish me luck - I need to get work done today.
Who is is feeling "mental rut" especially during Lockdown???
ur mum
me being stuck home with my parents and all feels like its weighing on me
Everyone
@@mohammadmashallah4358 your concept of thinking is like bro appka salary toh 6 lakh but aapko break chahiye but please see poor farmer working hard to earn living. stop comparing with others. i respect what our mother does for us and its just unreplacable with any kind.. so rather commenting shit go and help your mother or dont take break and work for your company
You're being selfish. Think about the .3% of old people who are on death's door already who might die 3 month earlier if they catch covid. Your hopes and dreams, mental health and financial stability mean nothing compared to 88 y/o Ethel being able to lay in bed at the nursing home for 3 additional months.
I've been struggling with a lot of the situations that you mentioned. I feel grateful of listen to answers. Thanks a lot. Your content is widely valuable.

That Bob Ross quote at the end made my day :)
7:30 - exactly right. No goals, no direction.
Thank you so much for all these videos, it really helped me. Has been 4-5 days(it seemed much more) since I'm feeling bad, unmotivated, sad, anxious and the current situation isn't helping. From tomorrow I'll try to "recover" and don't let frivolous things overwhelm me. Thanks again for your videos!!
This video is a treasure to be cherished and stashed deep into the heart. Thanks to this channel for creating such a wonderful content.
Wow once again you upload a video at the perfect time that I need it!
I hope you understand how much this is helping me and others bro, thank you so much!!
Time doesn’t heal anything, it just teaches you how to live with the pain.
Well perhaps
It’s true thanks for saying that...
hahaha thats too deep dark and funny at same time
Yup, doing time. Gotta take responsibility for the healing. Don’t wait for it. Start healing yourself now.
We need to take control of our time, aka LIFE. Don't just sit and hope for the bus to come .
For me gratitude had been pretty huge for anyone wondering. In my case I was anxious for no reason and started just being sterner with myself. You need to be in todays society, a harsh view but it’s working for me so far ;) I think you have more power than you think x
I always blame myself when I take a break and it’s hard for me to take breaks enthusiastically because I feel like I should be working then, just as you said. I will think of “rest=productivity” from now on. Resting is important for me to be more productive. Thank you for that tip.
A great deal of your advice is known to me and proved. But the way you present it is so reliable and interesting, that I pretend not knowing it and just listen to you thinking how valuable all you're saying is. Thank you so much!
THANKS FOR PUTTING IT UP DURING ASSESSMENT PERIOD - I NEEDED IT BADLY
Been waiting for the good times for nearly a decade 🤷♂️
I'm so glad this channel is back!
Your channel has taught me so many things that I can't even imagine.
I'm a lazy guy who sits on a pc watching youtube and playing video games for the whole day.
Little did I know how much I didn't know about why I was doing it. There is dopamine, laziness, will power, and so much more.
Even if you think twice about it you can't counter how much you want dopamine, how lazy you are or anything like that. And if you do, it will feel awful.
It depends on how you were made. Productivity is something VERY difficult for me, and sometimes I can't do these simples steps listed in your videos.
Such as going outside for a walk since I'm stuck in my home. But when I grow up this is going to be a life changer. Thanks.
Thank you! Sometimes it is hard to start and start small is great idea to achieve a start and then to achieve the goal.
Thank you, man. 😭 I needed this.
I stumbled upon your channel and I'm blown away by the quality of your content. It's incredibly motivating and has truly inspired me to work on developing myself. Keep up the amazing work!

I discovered this channel by accident, and it’s everything I’ve been struggling with. Thank you
I needed this. I've been stuck for so long, I don't even know why. I'll see what I can change. And I'll start slow and do it for 5-10mins and see if it helps me get back on track.
Good luck friend. I am doing the same. One day at a time.

Sir_ Deadlock Same😐

Today i took a break and the guilt of not doing enough was killing me but i watched this video and now i am feeling a little bit better. Thanks
thank you for this advice
Oh so true! Im sitting here mourning my happy energetic self from yesterday. Like literally the day before.
This is great, Thanks
Thanks so much for sending out these videos. :) I forget who to attribute this to, but an easy mnemonic for a good morning is the three M's - movement, mindfulness, mindset. A lot of good mindset material here.
Thank you so much. This is especially true in the pandemic.
Great stuff , very helpful keep them coming 👍
Watching this video in 2020 is a blessing!
Great content! Thank you 😊
Well done! I just need this video.
yeah vaibhav! keep it up.
Thanks bro for such amazing content
Thank you!
I think the gym analogy is pretty helpful. I've had days where I'd start "lift too much" and then just get back into the rut. It's important to take it slow and easy.
you are a lifesaver
One of the BEST youtube channel 👌👏🔥💛
Thanks!
The Bob Ross quote made my day.
going to watch this video every single day; consider it one of my small goals to get started for now. small steps :D
As of a almost a year ago around June of 2019 I woke up in the morning and I just didn’t feel like it I called in college sick and went back to sleep then next day I had to drag myself out of bed as of recently it’s been getting worse I can’t focus on my work I’ve dropped all my hobby’s because I lost interest and I stopped going out and going for a run I couldn’t bring myself to do much and then I’d pressure myself on the day before of when things were due to get it done and I’d still feel like I haven’t done enough I dropped out of a contest I’d been working on for months because I felt nothing I did was good enough I spoke to my mum but we don’t have a good relationship she told me to just deal with it even laughed at me I’m still stuck in that rut now but I feel like this video will help me get out of it so thank you ❤️
Hello, maybe talk to a therapist. I felt the same way till I went to a therapist.
you save me , thank you so much
Thank you ♥️
Thanks. This helps a lot 🙂
