I can tell how confident Rhoden was. I remember this simple thing where Rhoden was told to stand in the middle and then he basically moonwalked and did some type of funny walk to the middle and it stood out because Rhoden acted like he had won the whole show. In the other hand, Phil felt like an old guy out of touch and this is coming from a Phil Heath fan.

I personally think he should’ve won 2010- present. Yes his midsection is pretty bad and I don’t like it but all these douchebags saying he doesn’t deserve to win also refer to Ronnie as the goat who had a worse midsection and in transitions was notoriously sloppy looking. Phil has 1 weak body part and has great conditioning. Besides ramy and bonac nobody is as complete as his and they’re just tied with him in that regard and ramy has conditioning and detail problems and bonacs abs aren’t good although he’s fixed the distention can’t fix the wide waist even though he can do a vacuum. Shawn has no calves, no triceps, deflated biceps, sub Olympia level forearms. Only place Shawn beats Phil is the midsection and depending on your tastes the quads and glutes but that’s just subjective they are equal just different shapes

Brandon is right here imo. Phil didnt mentally believe he could beat everybody on that stage including Sean and so he didnt. Phil did not even look too shocked that he lost if you watch the result of the Olympia that year. He mentally handed over the trophy without putting up the usual fight we see from him. He was ready to lose in a sense. And you can see it in his posing. I mean anybody who wants to win as bad as they want to breathe would not let it all hang out like phil did in those shots. Yes it is a physical game to most people but remember Arnold and those guys they wouldnt be seen looking weak or they just wouldnt compete.

To me, this decision by the judges in 2018 is very controversial. In order to defeat the current Mr. Olympia, the challenger has to be clearly better than him. Yes, Shawn made an overall better impression than Phil. Nevertheless, if we look at them in detail, we see Phil's better conditioning, separation, and muscle size. I think Phil's performance in 2018 was one of the best in his career in terms of conditioning, fullness, and size. He had everything on him, except for his bulging belly. Phil only lost in the mid-section and that spoiled the overall impression. The judges punished Phil, not rewarded Shawn. And it was more like Phil's loss, not Shawn's win. It was Shawn's best package, but it was barely enough to beat Phil.

Very good interview from Brandon Curry.
Streamer should watch this interview and finally understand that who won is not based on picture, but based on live. The best way to comparison is not by pic, and most of the time by scaled pictures, but by videos.
Rhoden has no triceps is bulls****. Yeah his triceps in Side Triceps really s****, but its because of his triceps shape. Ronnie Coleman suck at that pose as well, simply because of his shape, but you can see how big the guy tricep is when he hit FDB, there you can see the whole arm.
While i agree that Rhoden arms was a bit under the level that needs to be, he was aesthetic. Still in the previous years they were bigger and he need to bring them up.
But Phil arms overpowering the rest of his body and the looks is just terrible and not aesthetic at all.
Rhoden beats him in the legs, beat him in conditioning, in width, was looking more sharper and definitely more prepare to take the title.
Add to that that Phil was gifted 2 times for his GUT, and it was a obvious result. If they was given the title to Phil, even more people would stop watching this b.s. politics fixed crap Olympia has begin.

Phil was laboring through his poses. Looked like he had run a Sprint after each pose.
He was shaking when posing also, it looked bad.
Lastly when they called for the abs pose and Shawn looked at Phil and was basically saying. I got you. Shawn's confidence was off the charts.
