    Auto EQ is the killer feature that separates this amp from the pro audio amps that also have built-in DSP. Also the ability of this amp to apply DSP filtering to your high-pass outputs is also incredible and very different from what's in your typical pro audio amplifier, where the built-in processing is only concerned with what that power amp is doing, not the rest of the system. Home theater processors also have some correction capability for the subwoofer, but they don't give you the visibility into the processing that Dayton's GUI does.

      Thanks Kevin! I appreciate it. You know it's a great question. I actually am probably going to be utilizing this on my audience 212 speakers. I like the auto dsp, but I also have a crown xti 2002 that I was using for the subwoofers. And I most likely will be adding another subwoofer in the future. Since that has DSP and I have an Omnimic, I can set that up pretty easily. So maybe in the future I'll review it as a stereo amp. I just felt like most people would be more interested in the auto DSP function.

      @@Toid I agree wholeheartedly with you on the sub auto EQ/DSP. It sure will save the buyers of this amp a ton of time and pulled out hair. The next step is to time align it with the rest of the system. All of the issues with getting bass correct and a pleasure to hear are not always fun. I'm seriously considering a second 8" sub but, I dread the integration process. However, I'm up for a challenge. Kinda. Thanks again and all the best to you and yours!

    I bought a Behringer NX3000 to power an Infinite Baffle 2x18” subwoofer. If signal is being sent from a standard receiver RCA out, what would you recommend to dsp it? Minidsp with Art Cleanbox? Will upgrading to the minidsp 2x4 HD output enough voltage for the amp on its own?
    Ever seen Grimani’s line of Rixos speakers? I’d love to see you build something like one of those 2.5 ways with the 8” drivers. Or my actual preference would be an in-wall designed specifically NOT to use a box and use the wall space instead. Why pay for boxes when you can use drivers designed for large air volumes? Or will a boxed design always outperform?

The new subs work but do not produce anything near what theyre capable of. After reciever factory reset and full calibration in every mode the subs are still (docile) at best. They rumble more during calibration than in actual use. Any tips or educated guess as to why? Ty for your time.

  • @bass_and_things

    You can hook up multiple subs to that amplifier as long as the final impedance is 4ohm For instance you could have 2 subwoofers that are Dual 4ohm You will wire each subwoofer in series Then wire both subwoofers together in parallel Or vice versa each subwoofer in parallel then in series

    • @Toid
      @Toid  Před rokem +1

      The problem is, there aren’t very many home theater subwoofers that are dual four ohm. Most of them are either single four ohm or dual 2 ohm. Meaning you would need to get four of them to get to the right impedance and each one of those subwoofers would only see 300 watts. You could probably get some car, audio subwoofers, or PA subwoofers that could work in that instance, but you would be hard-pressed to find some that would tune low enough for most home theater enthusiasts.

  • @yttean98
    @yttean98 Před 2 lety +2

    The re are 2 inputs and 2 output channels, you bridge to get 1 higher output channel, fine. What if I don't need that much power can I still have 2 i/p & 2 output channels to drive 2 separate subwoofers, Yes or No?

    • @Toid
      @Toid  Před 2 lety +3

      You can still connect two subwoofers if you don't need that much power. However the auto DSP only works on bridge mode. So if you hook it up to the stereo outputs, you'll have to DSP it manually.
