"what's the best album of the 2000s" *includes an album from the 2010s* Fantano fans never disappoint me
Depends on how you define decades. There isn't a year 0 so all the decades start with year 1 and end in year 10 but people go with 0-to-9 decades because it sounds better despite it being technically wrong.
@@wallygropius4451How can 2010 not be part of the 2010s LOL
@@frankrogers2968 simply by there not being a year 0
It’s so good, it stretches across two centuries
@@wallygropius4451that's some American math right here. Decades start on '00 and end on '09 which is 10 years. What you said is completely wrong buddy
Songs for the deaf, QOTSA
Yes why does no one ever talk abt QOTSA?? Like Clockwork is literally the best album I’ve heard
No question
I really wanna get into their later stuff but I haven't been able to.. something about the heaviness of it is so appealing imo
@@johnjson I’m not a big fan of Villians but try to get into Like Clockwork or In Times New Roman. Both are fantastic and imo better than some of their earlier stuff

MBDTF is objectively an L, because the album was released in 2010😂
Also it’s not that good. Kanye has has like 2/3 better albums.
@@ashconbeats8414get out of melon heads ass 😂😭😂😭 sorry about your ears bro 😔
@@ashconbeats8414 Bro stop trying to be different. Stop trying to copy your lord and savior Fantano and just accept that he has an L take about the album.
@@roti1504just because they have a similar opinion doesn’t mean this person got it from fantano. And even they did get from him doesn’t inherently mean they then worship him like a god. Also they can just simply not like the album as much as other people like whose to say they are lying like if anything it would make more sense to agree with you and everyone else. Melon is def in the minority when it comes to his opinion on the album.
@@ashconbeats8414it quite literally is that good maybe not a 10/10 but a 9 AT LEAST
Toxicity album by SOAD. Literally defined the 2000s.
Although toxicity is a great album, self title is still way better and an untouchable masterpiece.
@@joedankla6946 I never said it wasn’t the best one. I’m saying that since Toxicity came out in 2001 and self title came out in 1998. Toxicity had a bigger impact because of the controversy with Chop Suey and the 911 attacks. Plus it hit the charts BIG time.
There's no definitive album that defines an entire decade
@@Lordcabber1System literally predicted hoe the 2000s were gonna end up and word for word described everything america ended up doing in Iraq
no it didnt did irt predict kanye was gonna be famous??@@Freddy_Guy
MCR is one of the only bands from that genre/era that has aged really well. Even tho Danger Days was a step down from The Black Parade it still has some bangers.
Heck even their new single they released in their reunion was decent. I don’t know if any newer albums would be good at this point. But I do think their overall legacy is pretty solid.
White Pony by Deftones is one of the best albums of the 2000s
all time
deftones suck
Self-titled was better
Their Self titled is an amazing album but white pony is undoubtedly better
@EdyIsTaken it's actually pretty debatable. WP is amazing, don't get me wrong...but ATF, ST, and Diamond Eyes are all better than WP.

@leerobbo92 yeah it's not one I'd recommend to most but it made me feel hella emotional and i love it
@@leerobbo92 if u want an album in that vein that’s a bit louder and more energetic you would dream house by deafheaven m. you’ve probably already heard of it but it’s a great album
Excuse Me, he did not just say L to Funeral😡
overrated pretentious and annoying songs. tried way too hard to be artsy, especially for a debut. it can be good at times but overall it’s probably the most mid critically acclaimed album of the 2000s
Neon Bible is a better album
@@RatchetSly in terms of popularity, and critical acclaim, funeral wins, but I respect your opinion
@@pawsVillainy I can’t think of anything actually pretentious about funeral: it just tends to be pretty abstract with its lyrics (like Radiohead). Also wtf is “too artsy” supposed to mean coming from someone who likes in rainbows. Not that it’s a bad album but if there’s an album that try’s to be artsy it’s that album.
@@holylucane9019 by pretentious, i mean that the band tries way too hard to be something they're not. you make a comparison with the lyrics and radiohead, but the difference is that radiohead had already made 6 albums by that point and had been around for nearly 2 decades, so when arcade fire tries to be similar to radiohead, it's bound to fail especially on a debut.
that's what i meant by pretentious - they thought they were cooking while burning the kitchen down (W analogy)
also, in rainbows is an artsy album, yes, but that's radiohead's 7th album. they had a lot of experience and were able to pull it off while maintaining a relatively chill feeling to the album (like on the majority of All I Need)
i might be biased because i really do not like the vocals on funeral so maybe that's what ruins the album for me
TLDR: arcade fire tried too hard
Hybrid Theory.
One of the best major label debuts of any act.
Major W
W
W even though I think Iowa, See you on the other side, toxicity, and mesmerize are all better nu metal albums
meteora is better imo

At least we were mentioned 😭🤣
Frances the mute, my favourite album of all time, and they played a fuck tonne of it live at their last gig this year ❤️❤️❤️
Frances the mute is definitely their best record, my personal favorite is Amputechture or Octahedron tho
Amp didn’t get the love it deserved, and oct is just such a solid track list. That closer when it gets to the solo is unreal 👌
Songs for the Deaf - QOSTA

That Silverstein shoutout tho, I'm happy enough. Alexisonfire defined my 2000s, and pretty much my whole taste.
I was gonna say, my favorite album from the 2000s would either be an AoF album or an Underoath album. Crisis and Define the Great Line are two albums i basically listened to continuously throughout high school and college.
@@commirevo89 La Dispute is my new favourite, I'd say one of their albums should be considered too. Maybe if it was best hardcore of the 2000s haha
@@commirevo89 Crisis is just perfect from start to end.
And Underoath gets some bonus points for having one of the most diverse careers of any rock band. I mean, how many rock bands get to say they have a black metal record, an emo record, and a metalcore record?

The opening to Neighbourhoods #1 is a fucking classic
their best album alongside the suburbs
All of those are amazing albums but what about Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV
damn man gotta shit on silverstein, discovering the waterfront was probably their best album lol
In my honest opinion, I'd say All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot (2008) would take a spot on this list
The album is really well produced and focused on quality. Mick Thomson and Jim Root's guitar abilities and versatility really stood out in that album, as well as the band's criativity, production and writing skills. The lyrics go from social criticism to inner problems, such as depression, anxiety, heartbreak etc. If you guys are into heavier music you should check this album out, alongside the other ones Slipknot made:
MFKR (1996), Self-Titled (1999), Iowa (2002), Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses (2004), Vol. 5: The Gray Chapter (2014), We Are Not Your Kind (2019), The End, So Far (2022) and Adderall (2023)
I personally think that Iowa and Vol 3 are better records, but All Hope Is Gone also slaps.
