    If you're looking for more wood carving designs and videos, I recommend watching the video where I carve a greek paddle with a Dremel 4300. I use Walnut, Poplar, and Epoxy! The epoxy was a hassle but came out really cool.

    Thank you so much for using just your Dremel! I recently obtained the same one you were working with (except, not the smaller hand held piece yet...). I was so happy to have a "real" tool that even the men in my life (loggers, construction, carpentry, industrial electrician, etc.) were impressed with. But I have been discouraged since so many of the projects that I want to start all have tutorials have crazy expensive tools that i will never be purchasing. You provided an excellent tutorial and though I'm not creating the same project, your instructions and details were a perfect match for my project. Thank you!

      Great to hear I reached my target audience! My videos are meant for people with very limited access to tools, so I try to do as many cool things as I can with just a rotary tool. Thanks for the kind words!

      I got lucky getting it at Home Depot, lots of times the wood is warped. I also spent around $25-30 on the piece, so not a huge money saver. I need to find a better source

    Your Home Depot carries African Mahogany? I need to a much bigger city I guess a million area pop isn’t big enough. Of course. Piece turned out absolutely beautiful. Nicely done

    • @LogsCarvingClub
      @LogsCarvingClub  Před 8 měsíci +1

      There’s a chance it wasn’t really African Mahogany, but it looked fine to me. Been a while so I don’t remember. I just looked online and couldn’t find any, so it might’ve been a limited time thing. I usually get nicer woods from proper lumber yards or hobby stores. Thanks!

    That’s awesome that they have nice wood species like mahogany at your local Home Depot. The Lowes and Home Depot in my area only ever have Oak, Pine, Poplar, and on rare occasions Maple.

    • @LogsCarvingClub
      @LogsCarvingClub  Před 2 lety

      The vast majority is pine, but there’s a tiny section with those hardwoods (walnut too!). They’re super pricey though, I think I paid $40 for the board I used for this project. There was leftovers though that I used for a couple other things. Still expensive.

    • @LogsCarvingClub

      I couldn’t remember/find info on that, so I wouldn’t count on it. I use this as more of a serving board with little bowls of olives and such on it, so I don’t cut anything on it. That’s also because I don’t want to damage it haha.

    I have a question for you… how do you get the engraving parts to be the same depth throughout the whole board? Is there a specific method, or is it just something that comes with much practice? Thanks so much! ♥️♥️🇦🇺

  • @Steph_here

    The board turned out so cool!
    Hm the sanding drum keeps flying off every time I turn on my dremel (the attachment itself stays in place. It's just the sand paper ring that flies off). If anyone has any tips, please feel free to reply 😊

    • @LogsCarvingClub
      @LogsCarvingClub  Před 2 lety

      Is the screw on the end of the drum fully tightened? The drum paper may also be stretched out if it’s old

    • @Steph_here
      @Steph_here Před 2 lety

      @@LogsCarvingClub ah ha! that's what it's called. ok so the sanding drum paper keeps flying off, but it's brand new and it's the one that came in the kit with the rotary tool so. idk what to do lol I am new at this :)
