the crash of guy martin is a bit terrifying
edit, just saw that he had 2 crashes, but only one has footage of it, so not the 2010 crash but the other one
Also, they go a hell of a lot faster than 138mph. Supposed top speed record (in race) is 206mph and I routinely see them sitting above 180mph on that long, winding stretch through the countryside (green fields on either side) and the helicopters can't even keep up with the speed.

There's something called an air bag motorcycle suit where if the motorcyclist crashes the suit inflates right before they hit the ground. Maybe they should make it mandatory for all Isle of Man racers to wear one of those.
Also maybe they should implement a speed limit in the race like no driving over say 70kmh

I literally put the exact same tires that are on this car on my wheelbarrow this summer. Surprisingly, those tires are good for 400-800lbs ea depending on the ply, so the tires are barely breaking a sweat when you toss the car on two wheels.

I'd love to see an over-engineered version of this. Widen the stance and angle the tires, put a bigger motor in it, roll cage, lower it, extend the rear wheel for stability. For practicality's sake though it would need a small trailer or even just a box on wheels. It's major downfall as-is is not being an open cab. I bet if he could have leaned like on a motorcycle he wouldn't have crashed the thing. Kind of cool none the less. Needs room for a helmet, lol

You may be right that it wasn't NOS's fault if he took a sip each time they filmed...I think it would be enough to cause issues IMO.
