You are never too old to be a street photographer. The problem is everyone has got an excuse not to do what needs to be done. I’ve done it before it didn’t work, I haven’t got the proper equipment, I’ll do it when I get a Leica, I’m too tired, There’s not enough time in the day, I’m too busy with the kids, I’m depressed, there’s not enough people where I live to shoot street photography, I live in the country ... I’m too young ... or ... I’m too old.
In this video we get to see how ‘I CANT = I MUST’ and I’m in East London also shooting close up street portraits.

I am a female street photography of 68 and started this style of photography when i had to give up work due to ill health 3 years ago, this is what gets me out of bed in the morning ,when i have a camera in my hand i am stress free and the walking keeps me fit , looking forward to your next video Gary

I'm 61 and I had my first exhibition last year. I had 3 framed images on the wall which all sold plus and additional print. I'm shooting more now than I have ever shot in my life. You are NEVER NEVER too bloody old. No better exercise than being out with your camera. Great vid again and what a character Pebbles was.

58 yrs of age, and I question myself sometimes, then I realise the exercise and mental health goodness I am getting and I love it! and will keep photographing the moment for yonks yet.

I just found your channel, love it. Such an inspiration to just get out there and shoot. Your street portraits rival any studio portraits. I love the interaction you have with all of your subjects, you make the unseen people seen, never punching down as a lot of street photographers do. Cheers mate.

I used to meet a lot of elderly folk through my work. Sometimes you'd chat to someone recently retired-around 67 say- and they would have the attitude 'OK that's me done, going to take it easy now.' But next I would meet an 85 year old who'd just started to learn Russian, or something equally challenging, at the local college. Its all in the head.

Yeah spot on people who say they can't are just using it as a poor excuse to do what they want to do. I work nights shift but I will work around my shifts pattern. To get images for my passion. Like Chinese New year in Liverpool coming up which I love and it will get me motivated. 👍📷🔥

Yeah totally: if you can still walk, you can do it. I did a full time BA photography degree in 2015 when I was 62 (that was a culture shock). Now I'm 70 and I'm out regularly doing street photography. Love your vids.

Fabulous!!!! I'm doing my BA in photography right now at the age of 60. Street photography is my therapy. On my days off work, I am travelling to cities with my senior rail card😂🚅 and hitting the streets. It's an amazing feeling and I'll keep doing it til I drop.

After I retired at 60 I started street photography very seriously, mostly character portraits. Now I am 72 and still try to do my best, the only thing is to find character figures less and less in my town and get very dangerous old farts like me because druggies are all around hunting the street hunters (photographers). By the way, most of the "old legends" still were out hunting in their 80-s. I like your stile, look like you embrace ugliness and turn into meaningful. I try to do the same.

Great video as usual Gary, I'm 55 and didn't get serious about photography until I was 50, my kids clubbed together and bought me a sony H400 for my 50th, probably 1 of the best presents ever, not because of what it was but because almost 6 years later I'm still well in to photography although for the last 2 years it's taken a back seat, had some personal issues which resulted in my 2 youngest grandkids being force adopted, the last contact with their mum and dad was yesterday and now we are no longer fighting a system we were never able to beat I can get back in to photography, not just for me but also for my 2 youngest grandkids, when they are older and have access to social media they can search for their family. I have thought about starting a youtube channel and my 12 year old granddaughter said it's a good idea, she loves the camera on her so she would want to be the star in the videos lol, I have extra incentive to do something and the end goal is important, also the journey to get there is equally as important and what better way to incorporate photography and videography on that journey, it's going to be a long journey as they are only 1 and 2 atm.

@@LASHMAR Thanks Gary, it's been a very hard couple of years, going to potentially miss the next 13 to 15 years of their lives so when they are old enough to search for us their will be lots of photos and videos for them to find, I feel very motivated, especially today, it's my grandsons 3rd birthday.I know where ever he is today he will be enjoying his cake, he loves cake 😁

In my opinion, age doesn't really matter in this business. I think it's your artistic vision that makes you a good street photographer/pottery artist/flute player/short story writer -- and not age, really. Actually, I'd argue that the more you live the better grip you have on some of your artistic skills. So, perhaps, you could say you're never too young for street photography:)

Yes, everything is true, everything is true, photography is a way of life, but now I don't shoot ... I almost don't shoot because there is a war in my country, and it changes everything a lot ... unfortunately ...

@@Photographybytaylorc hey mate - yeah man just keep it simple. I have it locked in aperture priority. Most cameras I shoot manual and have done forever but with this its more of a handy camera I can take anywhere and I’ve got it set for quick almost point and shoot use - where are you based?
