Any chance of getting a Cyberpunk episode?
Really important question and I'm amazed this hasn't been done yet but how about god of war 4 it'll also fit with the fact Ragnarok is coming out November 9th
the only thing i wanted to see was Geralt on the bath, now i can rest in peace 🤣
This really needs a part 2!! I’d love to see more of this, especially in locations such as those taken over by the White Frost (smaller maps in another “world” where the frost has pretty much destroyed the world, so it has a lot of background elements of past civilizations) along with the Elven world you can visit later. In the elven world you only go into one building and out onto a terrace, but in the distance is a hugeeeeeeeeee city which looks really well made. I’d love to see how they cut costs to make it appear grand and lived in without actually 3D modeling everything. And we can’t forget the fairy tale world from Blood and Wine! That’s such an amazing area and has so many odd little “from a story book” looking elements to it that definitely could make an entire episode all on its own! As always, love your work, both of you!
Yeah, there's a ton more to discover. Really hoping for another video.
Yeah cant believe this wasn't covered
You can look at it yourself if you have Witcher 3 on pc.
There is a mod for free camera.
That elven city is interestingly done, it's a combination of some 3d models (for foreground buildings) and many textures simulating 3d buildings for background.
Also some forced perspective.
That fairy tale world has some interesting stuff to it, for sure. Like how it's hidden behind a mountain in the northeast corner of Toussaint, and you can walk there by disabling the world boundaries with a simple mod. :D
@@3dmarth I managed to walk there by calling roach when he was at the edge of the shimmer, then mounting him. It clipped me through the fairy tail border and it let me walk all the way over to Touissant, it was awesome! Amazing scenery, felt very liminal
9:48 This model is actually a lower LOD model of Wyzima from Witcher 1. You can see both south and east gate that you enter from the Outskirts. The same model is later used for pieces of Tir ná Lia during the quest, Through Time and Space.
You're really out here doing his job for him 😄
9:47 This model is the Vizima that Geralt and Yennefer headed towards while escaping from the Wild Hunt in the early stages of the game.
Whoa. I'm glad you brought up that "melting face" phenomenon. A long time ago I downloaded some large, wide wallpapers for TW3 and while examining some of the details of one of them, I noticed a fisherman in a boat that had a creepily melting face! I had never seen anything like it in TW3 before and it remained an unsettling mystery for me for a very long time. I eventually forgot about it until I saw this video and now I feel a little better knowing it's just a strange anomaly in the game and perhaps I didn't download a haunted JPG after all...
How much mercury is in your fish, Mr Fishy Man?
Would doing Witcher 1 be possible?
Given how different its vanilla version & enhanced version was, I'm really morbidly curious what was left around in the margins in that game.
Great idea, I would really want to see that
Are they that different? How?
@@zafelrede4884 A lot of it was technical. Better animations and models, plus stuff like load times & stability.
Plus a MUCH better translation.
So yeah, normally not that interesting beyond a smoother play experience, but given this show's focus it makes you wonder what was hiding out behind the walls & such.
Actually, you CAN go outside Vizima Palace, using a glitch where Geralt can jump through a gap in the walls via the scaffolding. It's possible to them see the save green area as that in this video.
I can confirm this, i did it without any cheats fairly easy. I also managed to escape the fairy tale land in Toussaint and managed to climb the great mountain above the city.
Happened to me as well. I believe it was even unintentional
*Console* no cheats (only glitches)
Not only Fairytale (in Tuissant) but also I was able to escape from last mission in HoS (where Gunter O'Dim gives you a timer) and make it to mainland/Velen.
Sadly unlike Tuissant, Velen doesn't have solid map outside bounds.
Thanks, Snipey, for helping Shesez create more content
Snipey is rad as hell 🤘🏻
Yeah he's great. It's honestly one of the few times I've seen a well established channel bring in a new host that matches the original hosts energy so closely that I don't mind at all. Usually there's one host I like more than the other.
I love this game so much, such a beautiful and stunning game the devs made
the ken doll had me dead
Bro was here before the vid was released 💀
That's crazy but I didn't ask
Evil doll
an Xbox photo?

Great episode. You're really good at this Snipey. As for the flat textures that follow the camera and face you, they are called "Billboard textures" in 3D development, usually consisting of only two polygons which face your direction. In some games, distant objects like trees are replaced with billboards, then low polygon models as you get closer and ultimately a higher detailed model.
I think you misheard.... the moon in Witcher 3 spins so you as the player see more than just one side of the moon... so no. The Witcher's moon is not like Earth's because we on Earth only see one side.
Billboard textures used to be very common for trees, crowds, etc in racing games, even right by the track.
@@RobertJW used to? Billboard textures are still HEAVILY used in most modern games.
@@davidedds6562 Yeah, but not to the extent they used to be. Now close up, you'll see games replace them with more detailed textures. Back in the day, the billboard was the whole thing.
@@RobertJW True. Just saying most old game design is still used today as visual trickery and/or resource management.
it's a lot of fun to watch you go through stuff! you are a great addition to Shesez' team!
what about the cut town in toussaint? there's an empty space on the northern part on the left of thie region's minimap. You can see roads that go there but don't connect to anything including each other and some empty space between those roads.
You can go around it and still be in bounds of the map but if you go down the southern or the northern road it'll say you're outta bounds and take you back.
This definitely needs a part 2. Especially to explore the Ddiddiwedht Desert, the Ice Plains and Tir ná Lia. There's also some inaccessible sections in Toussaint like the large forest Mid North of the map with rendered statues in it. There's also some building models in the far distance (West) of the map that are inaccessible.
It's still weird hearing a narration from someone other than Shesez narrating Boundary Break, but it's still an incredibly engaging narration! Also great boundary break of one of my favorite games :)
There's a dev team photo on top of a mountain in Toussaint, in the corner of the map, I think it was the South East corner that you can't get to without cheats or mods.
I've been tweeting for you to do this for a couple of years now. Thank you ❤️
Literally just started replaying this masterpiece
The seamless transition between rooms, caves and the outside is the best thing about the witcher 3 when it comes to technical aspects. It's very unusual that interiors don't unload but it makes for great out of bounds exploration.
I managed to get out of bounds in the fairytale zone at the end of Blood & Wine - and surprisingly the entire area was mapped between that place and Toussaint, with physics boxes and enemy encounters! I went the entire 5000M all the way over with the unicorn and red riding hood as a companion, I was so surprised it let me in! No invisible walls at all
Nvidia photo made with this game is just, AWESOME. I captured so many amazing photos and you would be surprised how far they let you go! My character was at the base of the mountain and I panned the camera all the way out to the edge of the map where there were only snow and mountains and it looked amazing
Witcher 3 is one of those games where you really wanna go out of bounds. I was able to glitch myself into the open world in a Ciri mission once. Was pretty fun.
YOOOOOOO this is the episode I've been waiting for. Such an incredible game, thanks for this!! ^•^
love the 13:10 loading of the different LOD. nice work.
Hey Snipey, just wanted to thank you for the great content you're creating here. You are doing a great job!
1:01 omg... I'm having a nightmare for sure tonight. Thanks.
What's interesting is that once you mentioned deep water layer under Velen, I'd like to add that Velen was supposed to be drown underwater by Crones. But that concept was cut during development of the game in somewhat around 2013-2014.
Judging by that thumbnail, you're about to take that camera everywhere I want. Lookin forward to this one
Edit- 40 seconds in. My disappointment immeasurable, my day ruined.
Once again I fly too close to the sun.
The "distant town" in White Orchard is actually Vizima itself I believe. And in Blood and Wine at the top of Mount Gorgon, there is a secret there viewable only with freecam. Kinda expected that one in a vid like this but there ya go
I am really liking Snipey, He was a great pick
Agreed. This channel now has two good hosts.
this is so incredible...im on a binge, thanks for these videos!
This channel's dedication to low poly birds is one of my favorite things on CZcams. :-D
So I finally caught a Boundary Break video as it was uploaded for once, I have visited CZcams at the right time I guess.
That face glitch/stretching thing is absolutely horrifying.
It can also happen when modding the game with mods that improve the faces, its even more terrifying then because itll randomly happen in some cutscenes
I was looking forward to this one! You've done so many games by now, it's insane. I remember when I discovered this channel I bine watched damn near all of them. Maybe Bioshock again though? You've remade a few of you original videos by now, and honestly, that one was awesome. Also the game has been remastered since then, so it's worth a shot I think. It's just such a beautiful game.
This just reminds me of how much of a great and well polished game "The Witcher 3" was.
Thanks guys. Probably could do a whole nother video on this one and still have plenty more to see
I would really like to see how the effect on the Godlings' eyes work, or what the alternate worlds look like that Avallac brings you to. They all look like they would stretch on extremely far, but you only get to work on relatively narrow and short paths.
Kick ass video. Really great to see all these secrets about a game I love.
Thank you for checking out Geralts crotch, i can finally check it off the list. Now on to MGS Raidon in the naked scene, RDR2 Arthur Morgan and the list goes on....
Yes! Boundary Break is frickin' LEGENDARY. Love these videos, so very much ❤️
Awesome Video Snipey, thank you very much!
8:29 The soldiers in CoD WWII also have eyes with flat textured backs
this was a treat to see since enjoying the Switch version of the game a while back. Can't wait for a part 2 once you're further along and discover more stuff to poke into
I quite enjoy Snipey's commentary, he brings a nice variety to the channel's format
1:34 “very very tall” then creepy laughs from IT
The skybox looks beautiful!
Great Episode!
As far as I remember that low-poly version of Vizima in the distance has a layout very similar to how it was in Witcher 1. I remember checking it out with the freecam myself a few years ago directly after having played the first one before.
Bloody hell, thanks for the nightmares in the very first minute of a video 😅
Amazing production value!
Just wanna say dude you're doing an awesome job, these videos are SO good 🧡🤙
Here's a neat trick if you're on console and don't have access to a freecam. If you've played Witcher 3, you'll know that Ciri's segments are rather limited and closed off. But if you manage to get out of her area's boundaries (doable in a couple spots in the big city area), you can explore the whole map as Ciri. A lot of stuff doesn't work, but you can still shop, and fight enemies. BUT, the borders of the map are actually removed while playing as Ciri, so you can actually go past the normal map boundary. That includes being able to get into the DLC area in the bottom right of the map, just by swimming there.
Best open world map I have ever played with. The details are insane. Unfortunately, ingame without PC tools, Geralt falls off through the map after passing a certain oob border, which I assume is the outer area of the map square that doesn't have any collision.
The water stretching down you can see in game if you get close to walls you swim on air
This game is an absolute masterpiece. Thanks for the really cool video!
If anyone has an NVIDIA graphics card and GeForce experience installed you can do some boundary breaking of your own, if you hit "Alt + F2" in a free cam way.
Yep, was using this, but never seen face glitches
I've waited a long time for this one!
Awesome video Snipey! You're such a perfect fit for this channel!
We need part 2! Awesome!
I loved seeing all of the layers and geography in this one. ^_^
That was a great insightful video. Plus your such a nice genuine guy, that's what I think.
Where the watr keeps going under the map and the whole map being on a square is exactly the same as cyberpunk . I explore it regularly outside the map .
so many years of waiting were worth every second
my favorite youtuber. always staying out of drama. always caring for their fans. always keeping it real with their fans. giving back to their fans. thank you.
Shesez for prez 🤘🏻❤️
Great video!
9:47 This model is the Vizima that Geralt and Yennefer headed towards while escaping from the Wild Hunt in the early stages of the game.
I'm glad I watched this. I now want to replay The Witcher 3.
Great episode ! I'm happy to see it covered at last :D
Will you do Control as well someday ?
Congrats to ya Snipey, you're doing great !
that long cow is scary
Amazing stuff, thanks ! Would love a part 2 as well (many comments do haha)
MAN YES, THANK YOU
This game is chock full of weird shit and it’s such a massive world there’s bound to be some good content here let’s go
You forgot the Wales on the Skellige Island. Really looked forward to see them. But it was a great Video! Youre doing good
Can you make a part 2 where u also visit the realms when Garalt travels throuth Portals to different worlds?
You are doing a great job Snipey!!
Withcer 3 is such a great game.
Thank you for doing a Witcher 3 episode. Very long over due.
This is the video I’ve waited for for so long now, favorite game of all time!
oh thank god you open it up with those melted faces at the start
when i completed the game and wanted to get some nice screenshots etc i also got a mod with debug options and freecam and stuff, and i noticed these horrendously disfigured faces and heads and thought my game was cursed
The water under the map reminded me of the BF 2042 beta. Me and a friend managed to get under the map and swim around and the water was put together pretty much like the shape of huge bowls. It was very strange
Witcher 3: * Show low poly birds *
PS1/N64: Looks pretty high detailed to me.
Anyone else have a hard time watching the out of bounds areas? I can’t stomach it and get chills down my spine
oh man i am SO hyped for the halo 2 episode, fave game
14:22 there's a face in the mountain
Darn, was hoping we could have seen the Nilfgaardian army camp
I would LOVE for you guys to look at Guitar Hero 3! Imagine all the venues zoomed out and seeing all the details you can’t notice because you’re so focused on playing the game
Now imagine the developers job to give this game a "next gen" remaster!
Oh. Now this is good! I was skeptical on Witcher 3 but its a great game. Im eager to see how large the worlds are rendered
Is it just me or do the limits of the map in The Witcher 3 look more beautiful than what you can actually explore
Omg yennefers face in the beginning is straight nightmare fuel
This waz great!!
Snipey you do a great job filing in and helping Shesez get more content out and no offense but to me Shesez has that certain intangible essence he delivers in his videos that imo is impossible to replicate.
Again you do a great job and I have absolutely no complaints it's just that he has that one special ingredient that's a perfect match for my taste.
Shesez seems very sincere.
Snipey your doing amazing. CANT WAIT FOR THE HALO 2 episode!
i really wanna see the parts of the djinn quest where you go underwater
The distorted low level distant character faces were an absolute nightmare.
Tall cow isn't real, it can't hurt you.
1:32
i have a theory that this town near white orchid is Vizima from the Witcher 1, i think that at some point they planed to use in game...
0:40 Good morning
I really like this Snipey guy, Shesez hired the right person for the job
Love this content
the hair is usually hidden when they were helmets so it doesn't clip through the helmet + it saves ressources thats why
you always say 'flat image' or 'flat texture' those things are always flat, the geometry/mesh/3d model whatever you want to call it is what makes an object 3d and creates real depth.
textures are just images which are always 2d
Thanks for the insight!
1:35 sounds like the clowns laughs from IT
