@@TheOfficialVupeQ It was a combination out of both sounds, that was the reason I also changed the injectors. I paid about 2.5k€ and changed it for myself 😕

I have the same noise but what's confusing for me is that the noise only appears when the car is warm not on cold start, is it possible for the injector seal to cause the noise only when the engines warm and not cold?
Might be a cracked exhaust manifold or leaking manifold gasket. I have same ticking but the car runs well without issues. I have changed new Bosch injectors and all the seals and done lots of other maintenance.
Mine has this, and also exhaust fumes leaking into cabin which suggests injector seals. If it doesnt have fumes then could be cam lifters and try wynns cam lift remedy
@@TheOfficialVupeQ I bought it with that sound but it doesn´t really matter to me because it goes away once it reaches the normal temperature. It has now 160k km and it´s been knocking about 10k km
No, I would definitely NOT recommend leaving it like this. It will most certainly damage the injector after some time since the compression is no longer the same and it might cause additional damage to the engine itself. It's not an expensive fix, so it's better to do it. Also, do it on all cylinders at the same time. Last time I had 2 cylinders with this issue and after I fixed these two, about 6 months later I had the same issue on the other side. Now I've replaced all washers and O-rings and it purrs like a kitten.
I think I have the same sound, but when my engine is cold it sounds more like bad pulley or something like that, but I have new pulleys and new belts…and when engine is hot it sounds very similiar to your car on this video. Maybe it´s the washers on injector but I don ´t know how to recognise it.
Use vcds, you can read the injectors injection time correlations and injection quantities from 'engine' ->'measuring blocks'. 'Injection quantity deviation' should be bigger positive number on cylinders where the copper washers are leaking. You can also see black tar coming from the leak hole above exhaust manifold if the washer is leaking, there's one hole for every injector. I have changed new Bosch injectors and all washers and o-rings, done engine flush etc but still have that ticking sound on left side of the engine and a bit of exhaust fume smell in the engine bay. I'm starting to think it might be a cracked manifold or leaking exhaust manifold gasket.
@@ville85 thanx man. What is that leak hole? It´s something from factory to help the engine when the copper washers is broken? Sorry for my english. I saw a small drops of oil under the right head of engine. Do your sound goes off when you engine is warmed Up? My strange noise is going off when my engine is warmed Up.
@@miky9618 it seems youtube removed my previous answer because I had some websites linked. You can find info of this from different audi-forums. Those leak holes in the cylinder head are from factory and they are there so that the combustion chamber pressure will be blown out if the copper washers are leaking. The leaking tar is a mixture of carbon, oil and diesel, it's like the tar from new tarmac that sticks to your car. My ticking sound is as loud cold and warm. I'm just going to drive it until something breaks and then put newer engine 😁

You are not the first one with this problem. You don't have to look outside engine. Propably problem with hydraulic lifters on cam shaft. They are locked or leaking oil and not able to take the play away. That's the clicking. I have the same problem. It look like engine have to be take out because you need to lift cam shafts and to do that you need to loose timing chain on the back of the engine. But nothing is for sure. 😁 Try to buy some product for this lifters maybe it can help little bit....?
Turned out it was the copper washers and O-rings on the injectors. They wear out and start leaking fuel and oil. Two injectors on the left side had the same problem. The washers are sold in sets and can be bought from Audi directly at €5.50 per set. The labor costs were about a €100. The noise is gone now and it's running smooth again.
@@ahv1289 Hey I'm happy to hear that you solved the problem. Because some people have to take the engine out and it was still not solved. I'm going to audi for new rings and change them directly. Thanks for the feedback 👍
