- After tremendous success with my initial QuakeCon video upload, I decided to make an improved version with additional visuals to help others visualize what was shown. There are additional updates and answered questions - such as HUD information, palette, and the glory kill system. I hope you enjoy!

Doom eternal already had the best gameplay ive ever experienced in a first person shooter ive rarely played a game that rewards you so much for mastering it. You can really feel yourself getting better at the game the more you play, and you're rewarded with such satisfying and cool combats. I can't wait for Dark Ages its one of my most anticipated game ever after playing Doom Eternal so many times
I feel like ID Software nowadays is top 3 best studio in the world. They've mastered to absolute perfection the genre of first person shooters its not even close. Even in the smaller things like the way the animations of the glory kils combine with the gameplay, the transitions are just so smooth and so clean, it's like everything about their games feels so polished and well crafted. I love these guys

Agreed. Eternal is the best first person shooter ever and it's not even close. It's perfected.

I do love Doom Eternal, but I do feel that the weapons lack the depth and combo potential that Ultrakill’s weapons have. I’d say this is because weapons don’t mix with each other, so they can’t compliment themselves in ways other than firing one after another.
That’s not a bad thing, most shooters are even more limited than Doom, but it hard to give Eternal the title of the best.
Its because they only hire the best people to be part of their team.
It's one of those games which gets better as you crank up the difficulty setting. I beat UN for the main campaign and the two DLCs and holy shit it was really satisfying. I even paid full prize for the base game + DLCs and I don't regret it at all, it was a great investment.
I'll play the shit out of The Dark Ages when it comes out.

Unmatched masters of FPS period. No other FPS even comes close. id games are in a league of their own.
Hopefully we get the crucible in this game and kill the titan in Taras Nabad. The crucible is one of the most important things the Slayer used in the Dark Ages.
I hope they rework it to be a proper weapon and not just an instant glory kill.
I really hope they go to town with the sound design of the flail. There's a lot they could do with it, like very distinct sounds depending on whether you're hitting armor or muscle or bone, or different sounds for when you miss enemies and accidentally hit the floor or walls, like metal or bricks/concrete etc.
I need to hear the demons pains and screams like the old games....no fking plataforms, is doom not mario bros

I was there at QuakeCon when they showed the footage and saw no one with their phones out, everyone was just enjoying the moment so I gasped hard at the title thinking someone actually leaked the footage 😂

It’s more that they weren’t letting people use their phones. Security was making people put their phones away
If I remember correctly doom the dark ages is made on id tech 7. They don't have id tech 8 yet. I believe in the interview after TDA was announced marty or hugo said it's id tech 7 and that since the development of doom eternal they have kind of like maximised what they can achieve with id tech 7 which large scale battles and way more ai and enemies on screen than doom eternal.
Edit: so I watched the interview again and could not find anything about the engine used for tda. I personally think they're using idtech7 because they're not limited by last gen tech and just the natural progression of engine development and optimization. Doom eternal was the first id tech 7 game. They have more experience with it now so they can better optimize it.
Is it me or do those brain creatures look a lot like the octabrains from duke nukem?

I've enjoyed your coverage of this game. You convey your observations really clearly, detailed but straightforward, the stuff I want to hear about. Hope you gain a lot more views, you deserve them. Keep up the good work.
I really do hope that they go for having the slayer be vulnerable to damage while glory killing. Something that I noticed playing through DMC3 for the first time after having beat Doom Eternal multiple times is that taunting in DMC3 has a similar purpose to glory-killing in modern Doom: it gives you a brief moment to stop pressing buttons and think of your next move all the while giving you a resource. The difference is that in the modern Doom games you're effectively pausing the game, but taunting in DMC3 is a very risky maneuver that will get you killed if you don't use it properly. That sorta depth would be fantastic in Doom and it would alleviate the issue of glory killing messing with the pace of combat.

The trailer for dark ages is what got me into Doom other then that I never played any of the games before I just bought the deluxe edition of Eternals for my rog ally while it was on sale a couple days ago & I’m really enjoying it

My hype is higher than the International Space Station. I wonder if the single barreled combat shotgun is semiautomatic now that the shield is on the other hand.
doom 2016: removed the equippable fist (replaced with quick melee)
doom eternal: removed the pistol (combat shotgun start)
doom dark ages: combat shotgun may be removed (super shotgun start)

is there still multiple finishers animations for the glory kills tho ?? or is it always the same kick / flail attack animation like at 10:01 and you only chose in which order you perform them ? because if its always the exact same kick animation it could become repetitive really quick imo whereas Doom Eternal had sooo many different glory kills animations based on your position and all that
did they show off the automap? are the maps a bit more focused on exploration and more non linear like a few of 2016s early levels?
I assume DOOM The Dark Ages releases summer of next year so this could be very much promising if that is the case

I feel you don't understand how ridiculously hard it is to increase the enemy limit in the engine while keeping the game remotely optimized
@@goosemann2389 DE is very well optimized, pretty sure it can handle 64 demons at arena without problems
I await this game with a wanting that is unsurpassed (DE was not for me, the Doom Dance was great, but everything else was lesser.)... The level design was fine (at times), but there was too much undecided direction at times, and laboured (To do) elements within the levels, but the Slayer Gates were not one of them. Yet, this all aside. I know the Doom Community will be torn once more, and the toxic views will surface and corrupt the views of those who always have the small niggles of their fave game franchise... It always happens, and you cannot deny it, ever!
I just hope that the Engagement Arena's where the Doom Dance really showcased both Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal evolution of combat will be more than just the slow jog and timed battering that the reveal trailer has shown. And that even without Mick Gordon, there will be a fantastic soundtrack... While they will never have the grandness of Mick's understanding of what makes a Doom soundtrack, I feel it will be fitting, just not what it could and should be...
I wait with hope... And I await the toxic venom of the community also, just to laugh at their misguided judgement of all opinions (Including mine)...
i dont see any difference in design or scale or anything between the floating brain and the arachnotron. also i hope that they revisit the shields front facing design. it needs to look a lot more worn and abused, like an old anvil. the slayer logo should be much bigger, maybe like he painted it on himself, with demons blood of course.
So this is just quake with a Doom paint over... Just shows that ID is being forced to do this
