My new Low Rider ST was dropped off today and I couldn't be happier. The bike is everything I hoped it would be-even though I've only got 2.7 miles on it.
Very nice!! Congratulations! I wanted to pre order, but wifey has been asking for a new kitchen for a few years…she won the battle lol. And a new bathroom.. anyway just subscribed, can’t wait to see more videos on it.. I would love too see it near a another bike With a FXRP fairing and hear your thoughts.
What docking mounts might you be referring to? The Edward Richie sissy bar never used standard docking hardware to mount to the previous FXLRS’s. It was always just bolt on. Also, when I went to mount it, the rear fender struts are actually too wide to fit the sissy bar onto.
Nice! Glad you liked the video! If you have any other questions that I can answer/take a video of, let me know and I'll do my best to get you that information.
You said lowrider s. Lol. I got this bike too… in Minnesota… I love it Sorta wanted the road glide st. But….this is just a bit more maneuverable.. lighter.. easier
Sure looks nice! I see the bar risers have a pull back and they look taller than the ''S'' model. The ''S'' models have 4'' risers and yours looks like 5'' maybe? If you have a chance could you see and let us know? Thanks! I was thinking a couple of more inches with a pull back will allow us shorter riders (I am 5'7'') to reach the bars without leaning over so much. As far as the stand up plate you mentioned, here in California where I am you will get pulled over and told about a $800.00 fine if it is not fixed. The reason is because the Police vehicles both car and motor officers have license plate readers installed and the readers can not read your plate if it is laid back. Thanks again!
Definitely a good-looking bike! Yeah, I can take a look into the riser height for you. I'm 6'1" and I like the feel of where things are at for me right now-definitely a different feel from the FXLRS. Time will tell though. I really haven't gotten the time in the saddle with the weather being the way it is up here. There's a good chance I might bump up to a 6" or 8" riser in the future if I start to feel too leaned over. And yeah, I know why they do it. I still think H-D could come up with something that's a little less gross, but it is what it is. 90% of guys I know that ride a bike like this swap them out anyway. I've ridden out in CA quite a bit with my laydown plates and haven't ever had a run-in with the police out there, so I guess I've been lucky!
I wondered the same thing about the handlebars. I sat on the S and it felt like a little longer reach than I'm used to. I am glad to hear that the ST bars reach back a little more.
Hopefully yours hits the showroom floor soon! To your question-yes, I reserved mine. I called the dealer about 30 seconds after the announcement finished airing and I was already second in line for the reservation. It would seem that someone had the "inside scoop" on what was going to release and they had got in before me. Ultimately, I was the first to pick one up from the dealership, though!
Good question-that's something I could ask the dealer. I had them pre-install the grips before it was even sent to me. There was no additional part/charge on my bill of sale indicating that there was any extra kit needed, though.
Gongrats with the bike, just ordered the same bike in gunship grey. I’m interested in the front indicators, can you share who the manufacturer is and where to get them?
You bet. I got them from MOONSMC. Moons make a lot of cool stuff for that "west coast" style that you see on a lot of Low Riders-I've run their pegs, head lamps, and rear tail light on other bikes too. Really good stuff.
Here is something to find out for sure and for you to know and that is the air breather. I do not think they come or need a rain sock anymore and when I asked DOC HARLEY this was his answer. ''I noticed that the ST models with the Hi Flow air filter do not come with rain socks anymore. Are they now made so riding in the rain is OK and water will not get inside the breather? Another dealer here on You Tube when I asked said Harley is using a special oil and they do not provide a rain sock as it is not needed anymore for that air filter. Also if you look up that filter in the Harley parts page, they offer no rain sock and other people were concerned also so this is why I asked.'' Low Country Harley-Davidson ''Yes that is what HD is posting...Doc''
It does not come stock with rear pegs, just like the Low Rider S. The stock seat on this is a solo seat, just like the FXLRS as well. Part of the reason I went with the Saddlemen is for two-up, and I'll be putting rear passenger hardware on in the near future.
Haha! I was just thinking that myself honestly. I’m just rocking an iPhone to film with and it was easier to hold in portrait, but I did record some more content yesterday and that was in landscape. I plan on filming in landscape from now on.
Will do! Major bummer that it didn't fit right out of the gate; I love the Richie sissy bars. I did have the bags off prior to filming that video and it's a really close fit. Looks like they may have used some wider rear fender supports that cause fitment to be just a little too tight. All things considered, I'm a little curious as to how H-D was planning to mount sissy bars/rear back rests to this bike with the hardware they've got on it, but I'll update you as soon as I get some solid info.
defiantly will be figuring out how to get a sissy bar AND bags on my ST. wish me luck! anyone got any recommendations/after market suggestions let me know.
Awesome machine! H-D offers an ESP with coverage for Screamin’ Eagle upgrades, but the Dynojet that you mentioned will put an electronic “flag” on your VIN that will never go away. You should research this before installing the Dynojet.
I went ahead and did away with the extended warranty from the dealer and got a full refund. At this point, I've decided that if the bike gets pulled out of warranty by putting parts on it that I want, I'm willing to risk that. The bike is going to end up with the TBR Comp-S 2-1 on it and get put on the dyno with a TTS MasterTune.
@@rebelsroguesco That’s a solid plan. It’s better to know these details going in then paying on an ESP for a couple of years an then finding out! Another detail to consider is that a VIN flag never goes away, so at some point, whether or not you still own it, it may impact resale, trade value and the potential for ESP coverage down the road. My understanding is that things became gnarly in the 2018 model year after the EPA finished putting the boots to H-D over their Race Tuner “emission defeat device”. After model year 2018, whenever a “tuned” machine is plugged into a dealership diagnostic computer, the VIN becomes flagged immediately, and without warning. Have some big fun with your new beast!!
I would say heated gloves most certainly trump heated grips, regardless of the grips you choose. But I do prefer having heated grips on my bikes personally, and the kahuna’s are super high quality and I like the way they look.
Truth be told these are the last days of air cooled engines for HD. Soon the Revolution Max platform will move across the line with it being a cooler, less maintenance intensive, and more high tech consolidated motorcycle.
Possible. But I don't speculate on the what-ifs all that often. We'll know the validity of that in a few years time, as the Rev Max matures/more variants show up. I've run liquid-cooled and air-cooled bikes and I don't have a preference in either direction.
This was the first question I asked, because that was obviously my biggest concern. I’d have to double back on the paperwork, but I was assured by the dealer that the work I’m having done won’t bring my bike out of warranty.
@@rebelsroguesco 100% check. I’ve asked 2 different dealers and one told me a 2:1 with a Screamin’ Eagle tuner won’t void the warranty but any other tuner will, another told me anything other than Screamin’ Eagle parts will void the warranty and everything I’ve read online is 50/50. CZcams Matt Laidlaw Warranty (they go into great detail). I’ve even read it where someone got screwed outta an extended warranty because dealer said they would be good but as soon as the brought it in the warranty was automatically void when it was plugged in. And by warranty I mean powertrain. What you listed will certainly void it. Just looking out.
@@rebelsroguesco I’m with the other guy. A manufacturer is require by law to PROVE an aftermarket mod caused damages. A third party doesn’t have to prove anything. They can deny a warranty claim on a stock bike because of a made up reason and you cannot do anything about it, I’ve seen it happen time and time again. With you modifying the bike, you’re giving them a trouble free and easy pass to deny your claim, they will absolutely do it to you if you modify the bike. I’ve been in this business for a long time now, extended warranties are pushed because salesman make more commission off them than the do bikes. On top of the above reasons, my Harley dealer gives a “forever warranty” with every new bike free of charge that is essentially a free extended warranty.
I would get rid of the fairing and lower the handlebars to help the flow of the bike. Other than that it looks like Harley just plopped the parts on with no thought.
Haha. I can’t say I agree with you-but hey, to each their own, right? Probably wouldn’t be a great idea to buy this bike for you, considering you can just go with the Low Rider S and you’d be closer to that “flow” you’re looking for.

You can get new docking mounts for your sissy bar where everything fits perfectly. HD sells them as well as aftermarket.
What docking mounts might you be referring to? The Edward Richie sissy bar never used standard docking hardware to mount to the previous FXLRS’s. It was always just bolt on. Also, when I went to mount it, the rear fender struts are actually too wide to fit the sissy bar onto.
@@rebelsroguesco sorry, I thought that was a detachable sissy bar. Mine isn’t an Edward Richie.
Love the smoked covers with LED lights. Did you have to install a resistor when you added the LED lights?
I did not! Bought the LEDs straight from MoonsMC. Installed in March of last year and haven't had a single issue since!
