  • Welcome to the channel everyone!
    Not sure how many of you out there are like me and wonder, "Damn, how much did that cost that dude?" I seem to always ask myself that question when I'm looking at sick builds that other content creators are coming up with. In no way is my current setup on the "sick build" tier of things, but I thought I'd post some transparency about what everything has cost me up to this point.
    Enjoy!

    It's crazy how fast Harley has raised It's prices the last couple of years. They will eventually price themselves out of the market.

    Bought one on order. 23k for the bike itself but I got extended warranty, maintenance package, paint and rim protection, and wheel protection for the next 7 years for a total for 32k OTD

    Thanks for making this video it was very informative. I recently purchased a 2022 low rider st (awaiting delivery) and the “out the door” costs really add up specially here in Ontario, Canada where our sales tax is 15%.

      Yeah? I'm guessing you caught the freight and surcharge on the way out. And 15%? OOF. Where did you end up out-the-door on the bike stock?

    I was dead set on getting the new low rider ST. But when I rode it I didn’t like it too much. I ended up getting a FLHR instead and I’m totally happy with it

    • @J_BLAZE415
      @J_BLAZE415 Před 2 lety +2

      Definitely wasn't what I expected after test riding it. Power is not the the problem, just the rider position and the fairing does not block as much wind at highway speed as I expected.

    • @hootertexas9711
      @hootertexas9711 Před 2 lety

      @@J_BLAZE415 so after I moved on from the ST, I was planning on an electra ultra or classic and actually found a decent one in Austin. But I was still browsing and came across a super clean FLHR and grabbed it. It has lower wind deflectors and a wind shield. It’s better than any fairing bike I’ve rode. And that windshield comes off in less than 30 seconds. You might want to check one out. Oh and the 107 is great. Mine has a stage 2 screaming eagle but it like the high rpm too like the 117 low rider ST.

    Your numbers are right on. My out the door price was 25K and I've been adding modified parts to it like the taller windshield, pass pegs and a rider pad for the back. It use to be HD = hundred dollars. I'd change that to HD = 1000. I did order the radio when I purchased the bike (out of stock) so it will be interesting to see what it really cost me. I love the bike but the smart money would have been spent on an older HD.

    Is the 10” windshield worth it? How does it compare to stock, or let’s say, to a Street Glide?

    • @rebelsroguesco
      @rebelsroguesco  Před 2 lety +1

      I definitely favor it over the stock windshield, being a taller guy. It makes a noticeable difference. With a helmet on, there is very little to zero buffetting on my rides. In comparison to a Street Glide, it would depend. I ran the 4" H-D windsplitter on my CVO and it protected nothing. That said, I also had a 12" Klockwerks shield that made all the difference that I would swap on and off. I would say it offers more protection than a stock Street Glide fairing/shield but less protection than a Street Glide fairing/Klockwerks shield.

    There’s no $1000 setup fee here in my area with 3 different dealers. They are trying seep these bikes for stupid stupid stupid markup. One dealer quotes $27,599 for ST , Another was $25,599 plus the freight etc,.. last dealer always sells there bikes at MSRP even with Diablo which these 3 dealers still have not sold yet.

    • @rebelsroguesco

      Interesting. Where are you out of? I've purchased from dealers in 6 different states and none of them ever omitted an attempt to get more money for the dealer setup. As I mention in the video, I've never paid for it on any of my bikes-other than my FXLRST which, at the time of purchase, wasn't available anywhere in my area unless you pre-ordered it.

      I'd like to see the paperwork on your deal.
      Dealers can charge set-up fees if they want, it is most certainly not illegal as it's a negotiable item (i.e. if you don't want to pay for it and they're not going to budge, you walk). As I mentioned in the video, I have purchased other bikes previous to this one without the set-up fee and have paid even below MSRP with no set-up fee on new bikes before.
      The lawsuit has to do with warranties, not set-up fees.
      Your bike, with audio installed (and this is without a setup fee, mind you), is $24,100 even before tax, title, license.
      Bike: $21,749
      Audio: $1,000
      H-D Surcharge: $750
      Freight: $600
      Total: $24,099
      You're not getting around H-D's surcharge (dealers aren't slapping on the surcharge, H-D is charging it to the dealers which then gets passed on to you) or freight. Based on what you said, with CA's tax rate at a minimum of 7.25% (a lot of places in CA are a lot higher), you'd be at, at least, $25,846.
      On top of that, you're saying you got a warranty out of it and gap. If you paid what you're saying you paid, your dealership didn't make any money (which is what they're in business to do). Good on you if you actually got them to break even or lose money. But yeah, I'm not buying it without seeing the paperwork. :)
