    Great comparison. Extremely helpful, thanks. About 3 weeks ago, I took the Low Rider ST, Road King Special, and Road Glide Special on test rides back to back to back. I am still torn honestly. I have a Sportster S right now and planning to trade it soon. We’ll see where I end up.

    Beautiful bike my man 👌 love the low rider st. I’m on a 22’ fxlrs and love it, I originally wanted a street glide than ended going with the low rider…no regrets…….other than not having audio 😅 I see a plex system in my future 😁

      You are a man of culture, with excellent taste in motorcycles. I had a Street Glide ST before this that I found used for a price I couldn't pass up. It was a really nice motorcycle as well, but the LRST is so much more nimble and handles better anywhere but the freeway. I'm waiting to see what the Road Glide is going to get with the reveal on the 24th, but unless it gets the updated dash AND the inverted forks from the CVO, I'll probably be sticking with the LRST for a while.

      @@chasingtrail thanks, before the fxlrs I had a white and orange 2010 Ktm 990 adventure 👌. I loved that bike but I ended up selling it to buy the Harley. The 990 was just too tall for my wife to get on, shes short and loves the low rider, but I was always a fan of the street glide and had plans to buy one until I sat on one and took it off the side stand. The low rider felt way lighter compared to the street glide. The weight difference alone sold me on the fxlrs.

    I’m almost 3 months in and love this bike. That being said screw the bikes, your roads and scenery are to die for coming from a guy stuck here in Jersey. Congratulations, and ride that beautiful bike safe!

    Also was impressed with the suspension on the low rider (coming from a GS). Very nice. Right now I have the RS1250 but not sure if I’ll keep it, will try this one again this week…

    Great commentary, Sir. You hit on all the relevant points for comparison. Suspension, weight, agility, stability on the Freeway.... and price / availabilty. Your "use case" is mine and the only difference in bike choice for me would be S vs ST.

    • @chasingtrail
      @chasingtrail  Před rokem

      Thank you. The S would be awesome as well. Lighter, and you can add your own bags or fairing if you want to.

    Very nice! Now I am going to watch your 2023 Husqvarna Norden 901 video. Been looking at the KTM 890 ADVENTURE R.

    Congrats on a great bike. I find the Softail platform to be better than the Touring for my riding. But I am not a big dude so there you are. If you don’t like the rear brake you may want the Greene Brothers Design brake linkage. An easy and effective fix.

    Nicely done Mike! I’m glad you found the bike for you! My 23 FXLRS has about 2200 miles, I love everyday I get to ride!
    I wonder if we are the only 2 in the world that left a perfect 1250 GSA and ended up on HD Low Riders 🤣

    Does the Street Glide offer much more wind protection?

    • @chasingtrail
      @chasingtrail  Před 11 měsíci

      It offers more, but I wouldn't say much more. I'd say the LRST is like 80% of the Street Glide, for me.

    Hi I'm not sure if you mention it in this video but what did you end up paying OTD? You mentioned in your test ride that they wanted north of $28k. That is actually what my local dealer quoted me, however that is with every fee imaginable and I haven't started negotiating with them yet. Just wondering if you were able to talk them down any from that original quote? Thanks.

    • @chasingtrail

      @@chasingtrailthat’s an awesome price. Congrats. I’d be stoked if I can pick one of these up for $26k otd. I’m definitely going to use that amount as a negotiating benchmark so thank you.

    Does the Harley accessory catalog offer a magnifying lens so old guys can view the "gauges"?
    Don't be so sure you will never carry a passenger. If me or your brother are with you and riding the Norden, we will need a ride home when it breaks.

    • @chasingtrail

      I can see the gauges just fine and the ST model doesn't have passenger pegs.

      6'1". I fit but just barely. I recently traded it in on a 2024 Road Glide which fits me much better.

      @@chasingtrail Please do a video explaining your switch. Also, did you like the seat you mentioned in the video on the ST for your height?

    • @chasingtrail
      @chasingtrail  Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@mr.trickschannel7396 I've been planning to but haven't had the time. Between work, kids, puppy, and riding when I get a chance, there's not much time left for making videos. The biggest reason for the switch is I wanted a Road Glide ST initially but couldn't work out a deal on one. I ended up getting this new model for $4500 less than the RGST would've cost me a year ago. Harley's going to have a lot of leftover '23s. The other big reason is I just find the Road Glide much more comfortable. I love the LRST though and if I could've afforded to keep them both I definitely would have.
      I loved that seat initially. It looks great. Whiplash Slipstream. It does sit you back and down a little bit providing slightly more room. After the seat broke in though the way it curves up in front started putting pressure on my prostate. Not pleasant. I'm not sure if it was that seat or just the shape of the frame.

      @@chasingtrail totally understandable. Thanks for the information. I am 6ft. 1-2 inches and ride a sports bike. I am looking at moving into the cruiser realm sometime in the next few years. I sat on the Indian sports chief and it fit me the best but they don't have saddlebags and the way the windscreen shakes in the wind is a bit irritating. I also sat on the low rider st and felt that it was cramped but I thought it would be doable if I could find a seat that puts me back and up an inch but I have had no luck finding what I am looking for when researching. I like the touring models, but coming from sports bikes, I think the weight of the st (or less) would be more manageable for my riding style.

      @@mr.trickschannel7396 The Low Rider S/ST Facebook group is a great resource for researching that kind of info. The Whiplash Slipstream did give me a little more room. A lot of people also switch to the forward controls as well, though you will lose some lean angle if you do so.
