  • In this video, I recap on the Edward Richie Traveler sissy bar. I originally didn't think it fit-good news, it does! I've gone ahead and added a Drag Specialties backrest as well.
    We finally have some nice weather as well, so I headed out to Lake Elizabeth for some beautiful lake footage.
    Thanks for watching!

    real nice, I greatly appreciate the confirmation of using the stock hardware for the sissy bar.
    I just dropped mine off for powder coating and was concerned on the install with the saddle bags.

    Nice, on the Sport Glide the sissy bar goes between the support arms and the fender. I'd have much preferred this. Nice!

    Where did you get the sissy bar pad bracket? I want the same sissy but will be getting a saddleman pad to match my seat.

    Do you have a video after installing the JM mini floorboards? I’m close to pulling the trigger but the passenger ones they make for our bike are these funky L shaped style looking ones. The main rider floorboards are sweet tho. Right now I have Thrashin Supply militant pegs which are ehhh ok. Rather have mini floorboards.

    I figured longer bolts would be needed. Did you use spacers between the actual bar and oem holes where the QR posts rest on? Just got bar today and I didn’t want to install because I noticed those concerns. Figured bolts were too short and the gap (hole) that remains since the QR posts don’t sit flush against it no more

    On my Sport Glide I use the MoCo quick release rack / sissy bar. No tools on off in seconds. I put it on before trips when I want to mount my MoCo travel bag etc.
    I think the bike looks better with the taller windshield plus it functionally works so much better for someone say 5’10+. Functionally the top edge is supposed to be the same height as your chin.
    I don’t have a Stereo on my Sport Glide but I’d run that Fosgate built for this fairing. Nice.
    You might check out MoCo’s new crash bar. It looks like they copied Bunk Kings. Put with Road Star’s saddle bag bars you have the bike covered if when you drop it. Can save engine case scars tank fairing handlebars or mirrors up front and the expensive saddle bags in the rear. We like to think our bike will never get dropped or knocked over in a parking lot but it happens.

      Yeah, I have the MoCO quick-release sissy bar/back rest for my CVO. I have looked at a few options for a quick release tour pack mount, and I'm curious as to whether the Sport Glide mount will actually fit the FXLRST or not. It looks like it would, but will require some additional research.
      I go both ways on the look. I have the taller windshield on for the majority of my riding, because, as mentioned in a video or two, I'm 6'1". The 10" does a nice job at my height.
      I saw the crash bar. I'm not crazy about it. I might throw it on at some point, but not at the top of the list right now! Working on that tour pack so that I'm ready for the long trips this summer.

    Hey man, love what you're doing with the bike. Your complaints are the same as mine. The seat is garbage for long days. I rode 2 days for about 500 miles and was dying on the second day. Are you 100% sold on the Saddlemen seat?

    • @rebelsroguesco
      @rebelsroguesco  Před 2 lety

      I've been riding Saddlemen for about 4 years now. I'm sure there are other great seats on the market, but I never felt the need to try anything else after I switched to Saddlemen. Absolutely love the Step-Ups.

    put 200 miles on mine over the weekend up here in Northern Minnesota. Love the bike but man i have to ditch the mid controls and the stock seat. The mids are just to cramping for me and the seat is an ass stinger. other than that, the bike is great. Taller risers are in the future as well. ride safe.

    • @rebelsroguesco
      @rebelsroguesco  Před 2 lety

      I’m with ya. The Saddlemen seemed to help out with the “cramped-ness” that you get with the mids. I think there are probably a few other option that will set you back a little further as well. I’m going with a new riser set up soon too. That’s actually my biggest complaint. These definitely feel better than my LRS, but still too low. I’ve got some 8” risers with a pullback from Biltwell, so hoping I can get those on without readjusting/ordering a new set of cables.

    • @powerman1972
      @powerman1972 Před 2 lety

      @@rebelsroguesco Please let us know how the Biltwell risers work out! I was thinking of going with the Thrashin Supply 9.5" pullbacks, i contacted them and they recommended going with a plus 6 on cable and wire lengths. No big deal, but if the biltwell's work without changing all that that would be a great option.

      I was thinking of buying an st but the foot pegs are too high . I have 2020 road glide special with a 475 S&S cam just though of another bike , maybe the forward controls .

    Hello! How tall are you? Have you kept mid controls or changed to forward? Any issues with seating position? Im 6,2 and believe im to tall for mids…

    • @rebelsroguesco
      @rebelsroguesco  Před 11 měsíci

      I'm just under 6'2". My take is that the seating position is fine as long as you swap out the bars and risers. I never really feel that my legs are bunched up or anything with the mids.

    • @rebelsroguesco
      @rebelsroguesco  Před 2 lety

      I love both. Ultimately, I do a lot of long distance rides so when I had my 2020 FXLRS, I was modding it out to be a touring machine anyway. I am happy they finally put the 117 in these bikes (as they did the 110 in the dyna's), so it was a no brainer when I saw the fairing, bags, audio system, etc.
